Abstract

The study aims to determine whether the mathematics learning outcomes of students who learn discovery learning are better than students who learn conventionally. It also aims to find out whether the mathematics learning outcomes of students with high initial abilities and low initial abilities with discovery learning are better than students who learn conventionally. This type of research is a Quasi Experiment with quantitative approach design and used was a randomized control group only design with treatment by blocks. The population in this study were students of class VII  Islamic private junior high school or MTsS Darussalam Ampiang Parak, Sutera Sub District, Pesisir Selatan. The research sample was randomly selected,namely students of class VII.1 as the experimental class and VII.2 as the control class. The research data were obtained from the results of the initial ability test and the final test given after the experiment was carried out. Data analysis using t test.The results of the analysis show that: 1) The mathematics learning outcomes of students with discovery learning model are better than those taught by conventional learning, 2) Mathematics learning outcomes of students with high initial abilities and students with low initial abilities with discovery learning learning models of learning arebetter than students with high initial abilities. taught by conventionallearning. The results could be a solution for teachers to provide learning to develop students' ability invention, especially in the discovery of mathematical concepts and problem solving both in learning and in daily life

Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the impact of technological development among adolescents as seen from the character values including the positive and negative impacts of technology mining among adolescents as seen from character values. This research uses a qualitative approach. Respondents in this study were all students of SMA Negeri 2 Linggo Sari Baganti totaling 89 people with rondom sampling technique as much as 25% of the total number of students. Data were collected using interview and observation techniques. While the data source is the principal, teachers and students of SMAN 2 Linggo Sari Baganti. The results showed that the positive impact of technological development in education is able to create good learning activities, make it easier for students to find learning resources, and with technology can help students learn to implement technology in teaching and learning, so students are more interesting to learn. The findings also show that the negative impact of technological development, one of which is the low value of character, especially from the social aspect, lack of student communication with the surrounding environment, low levels of caring among peers and technological development is also misused for games that make them forget themselves.

Abstract

Scholarships are a work program that exists in every college and school. The scholarship program is held to ease the burden on students in taking their studies. STKIP Pesisir Selatan is one example of a university that has many scholarship programs to be distributed to every student and student who is financially underprivileged but has the determination to continue their education and excel during their schooling. The purpose of this research is to process the selection of prospective scholarship recipients using a system through a decision support system combined with the Weigted Product method so that prospective scholarship recipients can be directly determined and will make it easier for universities to determine which prospective students will be selected

Abstract

Komunikasi matematis sangatlah penting dimiliki oleh siswa. Namun kenyataannya berdasarkan observasi yang dilaksanakan masih banyak siswa yang mempunyai kemampuan komunikasi matematis rendah. Hal ini diketahui berdasarkan wawancara dari beberapa guru yang mengajar di Sekolah menengah atas. Untuk itu peneliti melakukan suatu perlakuan dengan menerapkan salah satu strategi pembelajaran yang bertujuan untuk dapat meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Kelas tempat penelitian yaitu kelas XI IPA 5 SMAN 1 Painan yang terdiri dari 30 orang siswa. Berdasarkan hasil tes, observasi dan analisis data serta pembahasan dalam penelitian diperoleh 1) Nilai rata-rata tes pada siklus I sebesar 70,71 dan siklus II sebesar 81,93. Persentase ketuntasan kelas pada siklus I sebesar 19,28%. dan siklus II sebesar 19,28%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa secara tertulis mengalami peningkatan namun belum mencapai indikator yang ditentukan. 2) Skor rata-rata total kemampuan komunikasi matematis pada siklus I sebesar 2,17 dengan kategori cukup baik dan siklus II sebesar 4,78 dengan kategori sangat baik. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa mengalami peningkatan dan sudah mencapai indikator yang ditentukan.3) Skor rata-rata total hasil pengamatan KBM pada siklus I sebesar 3,04 dengan kategori baik dan siklus II sebesar 4,28 dengan kategori sangat baik. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan guru dalam menerapkan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe think talk write (TTW).

Abstract

Latar belakang dari penelitian ini adalah karena kurang pahamnya siswa dan guru terhadap pembelajaran matematika pada kurikulum merdeka di SMP Negeri 4 Painan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan pembelajaran matematika pada kurikulum merdeka. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII yang berjumlah 72 orang dan 12 guru kelas VII yang menerapkan pembelajaran kurikulum merdeka serta wawancara kepada guru matematika kelas VII Teknik yang digunakan dalam pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini adalah total sampling yaitu semua siswa kelas VII di SMP Negeri 4 PAINAN. Dalam penelitian ini, Peneliti menggunakan angket dan wawancara sebagai instrument dan teknik pengolahan data yang terdiri dari 20 pertanyaan kuesioner siswa dan 14 Pertanyaan kuesioner guru dan 15 pertanyaan dari wawancara yang telah di validasi sesuai dengan indikator tentang pembelajaran matematika pada kurikulum merdeka  yang telah di jelaskan oleh beberapa ahli. Dalam hasil penelitian ini, peneliti menemukan penerapan pembelajaran matematika pada kurikulum merdeka di kelas VII SMP Negeri 4 Painan. Berdasarkan dari hasil tersebut untuk responden siswa terdiri dari 4 indikator jawaban tertinggi 36,69% Setuju, 28,54% Sangat Setuju, 17,58 % Netral, 17,59% Tidak Setuju, 5,47% Sangat tidak setuju. Untuk responden guru terdiri dari 4 indikator jawaban tertinggi 64,92% Setuju, 7,01% Sangat Setuju, 3,18% Kurang Setuju, 2,34% Tidak Setuju

Abstract

The ability to understand mathematical concepts of grade VII students at MTsN 12 Pesisir Selatan has not been satisfactory. Learning that does not provide a memorable learning process and does not involve students in the discovery of mathematical concepts makes the concept only memorized without deep understanding. Discovery learning can facilitate and build students' understanding of mathematical concepts. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of discovery learning on the ability to understand mathematical concepts of Grade VII students of MTsN 12 Pesisir Selatan based on students' initial abilities. The study population was students of class VII MTsN 12 Pesisir Selatan in the 2017/2018 school year, with the sample of the study being randomly selected, namely class VI.4 students as the experimental class and VII.1 as the control class. This type of research is Quasi Exspriment. The research data were obtained from the results of the initial ability test and the mathematical concept understanding test given after the experiment was carried out. Data analysis using t test. The results of the analysis show that: 1) The ability to understand mathematical concepts of students with high initial ability who are taught discovery learning models is better than students who are taught with conventional learning, 2) The ability to understand mathematical concepts of students with low initial ability who are taught discovery learning models are better than students who are taught with conventional learning.

Abstract

The purpose of study is to describe (1) the errors made by students in sloving relation and function problems in class VIII UPT SMP Negeri 1 Ranah Pesisir, (2) the causes of errors made by students in solving relations and function problems, this type of research is qualitative with a descriptive method. The subjects in this study were class VIII.2 students of SMP Negeri 1 Ranah Pesisir consisting of 6 students, namely 2 students each, with high, medium and low abilities. The instruments in this study were the researchers themselves, students error test sheets and interview guidelines. Data collection was carried out by tests and interviews. The data analysis used was 1) data reduction, 2) data presentation, 3) drawing conclusions the research results of the study showed that subjects with high abilities made only a few mistakes, subjects with medium abilities made more than one mistake and subjects with low abilities made many mistakes. The types of errors that students often make in relation and function material are in the concept, studenst do not understand the function material so that students cannot distingish between function and relations and relations. In principle, students do not remember and do not write down the function formula. Errors in operations occur because students are not careful in completing integer aritmetic operations in relation and function questions.
