Abstract

Online lectures are a learning process utilizing information technology, utilizing the internet as a method of delivery, interaction and facilitation. This study aims to see how the implementation of online learning during the covid-19 pandemic, the perceptions of lecturers and students towards online learning, the obstacles faced during online learning in the Geography Education Study Program. The research is descriptive qualitative. Research respondents are lecturers who teach at the Geography Education Program as many as 12 people and 22 students. Data were collected through google forms and interviews. The results showed that learning was carried out online and face-to-face using the google meet application, zoom meeting, google classroom and whatsapp group, the use of the application according to respondents was easy, respectively 83.3% and 63.6%. The devices used, 83% lecturers use laptops and 53.8% use smartphones, 100% of students use smartphones and 31.8% use laptops. Online learning methods are quite diverse, face-toface through applications, giving materials and assignments, presentations by students individually/groups and application discussion forums. Based on the results of student interviews, it was quite difficult to understand the material, online learning (online) was not effective due to obstacles during online lectures, but 63.6% of students were quite satisfied and 83.3% of lecturers also stated that they were quite satisfied with the online lectures they had carried out. The obstacles that arise during online learning are generally the limitations of the internet network and internet quota.

Abstract

This research started from researcher’ observation on English students’ ability that still low at seventh grade SMP N 1 Ranah Pesisir, and students’ opinion of English is bored and difficult. Based on the problems, this research purpose was to analyze students’ difficulties in understanding English learning, especially Reading Comprehension and Structure. The research method was descriptive qualitative. The research sampling was seventh grade students at SMPN 1 Ranah Pesisir, in choosing the sample was used purposive sampling technique. It was done because its class had mean score which low than others. More than 50 % of students got score under Minimum Completeness criteria. To get the data, the researcher had done interview for the students and English teacher, then done observation and document that were gotten the score of reading and structure material. From the result research were gotten that reading and structure understanding at seventh grade students SMP N 1 Ranah Pesisir, low. 40% from 25 students were difficulties in understanding them. The students difficulties of reading and structure understanding was caused less students’ concentration in learning, students’ learning habit which mistake, and students’ bored in English learning, beside teacher rarely did correction on students’ task.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the experience of the Educational Field Practice (PLK) on the readiness to become a teacher in the students of STKIP Pesisir Selatan.  This research is quantitative descriptive.  The population in this study was 31 students of STKIP Pesisir Selatan who had implemented PLK.  Data were collected through a questionnaire/questionnaire and analyzed using the Statistical Product and Service Solution (IBM SPSS Statistic 22) program.  The results showed that there was an influence between the experience of Educational Field Practice (PLK) on readiness to become a teacher, with a positive direction for students of STKIP Pesisir Selatan by 42.7%. The results of this study are expected to be used as reference material in improving the quality of education.

Abstract

The reality that occurs shows that students' mathematics learning achievement has not been in line with expectations. Students' mathematics learning outcomes based on test scores, there are still many students whose scores are below the specified KKM, which is 77. If you pay attention when learning takes place, it seems that many students are less interested in learning mathematics. Especially if the math class is at the last hour. This is one of the obstacles students are not motivated to learn mathematics. In addition, learning activities have not optimized student-centered learning models, so that the learning process feels less interesting so that students' understanding of mathematical concepts is still low. This study aims to determine the effect of the TTW strategy in improving learning outcomes in terms of understanding students' mathematical concepts. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research (quasi-experimental). The population in this study were students of class XI SMAN 1 Painan, class XI IIS 4 as the experimental class and class XI IIS 1 as the control class. The instrument used is a concept understanding test. The results of the hypothesis in this study are that students' understanding of mathematical concepts who take part in learning using the TTW type cooperative learning model is higher than students who use conventional learning. This means that the TTW type cooperative learning model has a good effect on students' conceptual understanding.

Abstract

This research begins from phenomena of the tsunami disaster that could potentially occur in Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. This study aimed to analyze the suitability of land for settlements in the zone are not at risk of tsunami and settlement development policy directives based tsunami. This research classified as descriptive and used a survey method.  The mapping unit used is a unit of landforms. units  in research area was varied so that sample technique used  here was stratified random sampling. The research showing that residential suitability in Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan divide into two areas, its : suitable area for settlement (4007,225 km) and unsuitable area for settlement (1742,665 km). The suitable area based on tsunami there are four areas, its (i) Settlements with moderate risk of tsunami (946,036 km), (ii) Settlements with low risk tsunami (3061,189 km),  (iii) Unsuitability settlements with moderate risk tsunami (838,710 km), (iv)Unsuitability settlements with low risk tsunami (903,954 km). Policy directives use for settlements based on tsunami disaster with priority by four alternative policy its : a. tsunami disaster mitigation through the construction of shelters and evacuation route, b. Knowing risk zone tsunami for early warning system, c. relocation of settlements gradually to people who live in areas at risk of tsunami, d. preparing land designated for residential area-based tsunami.

Abstract

The research study aimed to determine the errors that eleventh-grade students of SMA N 2 Muaro Jambi made in arranging the structure of noun phrases and the dominant errors that students made in arranging the structure of noun phrases. The method used in this research is descriptive. The population is the eleventh-grade students of SMA N 2 Muaro Jambi. The sample taken through the cluster random sampling technique was class XI IPA 1. This research used a test as the instrument to collect the data. The test showed that the students made more errors in arranging the structure of noun phrases were additions. The percentage of errors was 45,18%.On the contrary, the lowest errors that the students made in arranging the structure of noun phrases were misorderings, and the percentage was only 10,37%. From the result of this research, it can be concluded that the students were confused about arranging the structure of noun phrases especially related to addiction. It was caused by the lack of knowledge about common noun functioning as modifiers to modify the Noun in noun phrases.

Abstract

Latar belakang dari penelitian ini adalah karena kurang pahamnya siswa dan guru terhadap pembelajaran matematika pada kurikulum merdeka di SMP Negeri 4 Painan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan pembelajaran matematika pada kurikulum merdeka. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII yang berjumlah 72 orang dan 12 guru kelas VII yang menerapkan pembelajaran kurikulum merdeka serta wawancara kepada guru matematika kelas VII Teknik yang digunakan dalam pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini adalah total sampling yaitu semua siswa kelas VII di SMP Negeri 4 PAINAN. Dalam penelitian ini, Peneliti menggunakan angket dan wawancara sebagai instrument dan teknik pengolahan data yang terdiri dari 20 pertanyaan kuesioner siswa dan 14 Pertanyaan kuesioner guru dan 15 pertanyaan dari wawancara yang telah di validasi sesuai dengan indikator tentang pembelajaran matematika pada kurikulum merdeka  yang telah di jelaskan oleh beberapa ahli. Dalam hasil penelitian ini, peneliti menemukan penerapan pembelajaran matematika pada kurikulum merdeka di kelas VII SMP Negeri 4 Painan. Berdasarkan dari hasil tersebut untuk responden siswa terdiri dari 4 indikator jawaban tertinggi 36,69% Setuju, 28,54% Sangat Setuju, 17,58 % Netral, 17,59% Tidak Setuju, 5,47% Sangat tidak setuju. Untuk responden guru terdiri dari 4 indikator jawaban tertinggi 64,92% Setuju, 7,01% Sangat Setuju, 3,18% Kurang Setuju, 2,34% Tidak Setuju

Abstract

Speaking is one of the components in learning english, and also speaking is one of  the skills that must be mastered by students. However, in reality there are still many students who have problems with their speaking appearance when they perform in front of the classat SMPN 1 IV JURAI. This study aims to find out  what  factors affect the speaking performance of students at SMPN 1 IV JURAI when appearing in front of the class. This type of research is descriptive research. Participation in this study was 81 grade VII students. The technique used in sampling in this study was total sampling, namely all grade VII students at SMPN 1 IV JURAI. In this study researcher used quetionnaire and interviews as instruments and data processing technique consiting of 35 qustionnaire questions and 6 qustions from interviews that have been explained by several experts. Based on the results of data analysis obtained showsthat this study found these 5 factors with different percentages,namely: Performance Condition 40,22%, Affective Factors 18.11%, Listening Ability 3.1%, Topical Knowledge 2.15%, and Feedback During Speaking Ability 2.71%. Based on the results of these percentage, it is obtained that all these factors can affect the appearance of students’ when speaking performance in front of the class.

Abstract

Casual conversation is a critical site for the social construction of reality. The relaxed nature of casual conversation leads to a very common perception by those who participate in such talk that it is trivial and that nothing happens. Conversation Analysis (CA) is one of the approaches in discourse which has its roots in the field of ethnomethodology, one of the branches in sociology. The purpose of this research is to analyze the casual conversation between two close friends. The duration of the conversation is about 10 minutes long. The setting of the conversation is in the area of campus. In this paper, the casual conversation is analyzed from the form of negotiation, the turn taking, the linguistic competence and the strategic competence.

Abstract

The problem in this research is that children's low self-confidence in telling stories is due to limited mastery of vocabulary so that children do not dare to appear in front of the class, as well as the stories in books being too long so that children are bored and unable to retell them. The aim of the research is to improve the language skills of young children through the storytelling method. This research was carried out at the Ar-Raudhah Islamic Kindergarten using PTK with the research subjects being 10 children in group A of the Ar-Raudhah Islamic Kindergarten. Data collection techniques in this research are interviews, observations and documentation using descriptive analysis techniques. Data analysis techniques by examining every aspect of research activities at the time the research was carried out and analyzed properly. Based on the results of the last research cycle I, it was found that 4 children did not understand how to tell stories, 4 children (40%) received a score of not yet developed, 4 children (40%) are starting to develop, and 2 children (20%) are developing according to expectations and no child is developing very well. On the third day of Cycle II, the children were very enthusiastic about telling stories using audio-visual media, 8 children were able to tell stories very well. 0 children (0%) received a score of Not Yet Developing, 1 child (10%) Starting to Develop, 1 child (10%) Developing as Expected and 8 children (80%) Developing Very Well. Based on research results, children's language skills through the storytelling method have increased. Using audio-visual media can attract children's attention so that it can increase children's enthusiasm for telling stories and children's mastery of vocabulary and language skills will progress.
