Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan survei dan bertujuan untuk menemukan dan menganalisis secara empiris pengaruh persepsi siswa atas pendekatan komunikatif terhadap prestasi belajar bahasa Inggris. Populasi terjangkau adalah siswa dari 2 sekolah di Bekasi, sebanyak 60 responden. Sampel penelitian diperoleh melalui metode simple random sampling yaitu peneliti mencampurkan subyek-subyek di dalam populasi sehingga semua subyek dianggap sama. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan melalui teknik korelasi dengan dua variabel yang terdiri dari variabel bebas, yaitu persepsi siswa atas pendekatan komunikatif serta variabel terikat, yaitu prestasi belajar bahasa Inggris. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik kuesioner dan data sekunder untuk semua variabel. Data yang terkumpul selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan teknik korelasi dan regresi linier berganda. Sebelum data dianalisis, terlebih dahulu dilakukan analisis statistik deskriptif dan uji persyaratan data (uji normalitas dan uji linieritas). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa prestasi belajar bahasa Inggris dipengaruhi oleh persepsi siswa atas pendekatan komunikatif.

Abstract

Kegiatan PKM ini didasari oleh fenomena banyaknya guru yang belum dapat memanfaatkan platform Google Classroom dalam pembelajaran daring semasa pandemi Covid-19. Oleh sebab itu, tim Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) Universitas San Pedro berinisiatif untuk melaksanakan pelatihan pembelajaran daring dengan menggunakan Google Classroom kepada seluruh guru SDK St. Yoseph Noelbaki. Tujuan yang diharapkan melalui pelaksanaan kegiatan PKM ini, yaitu para guru dapat mengimplementasikan Google Classroom dalam kegiatan pembelajaran jarak jauh di masa pandemi Covid-19. Metode pelaksanaan yang digunakan meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan PKM yang telah dilakukan oleh Tim PKM, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelatihan pelaksanaan pembelajaran daring berbasis Google Classroom bagi guru-guru di SDK St. Yoseph Noelbaki memberikan dampak positif bagi guru-guru. Para guru dapat meningkatkan kemampuan dan keterampilannya dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran daring di masa pandemi Covid-19 dengan memanfaatkan Google Classroom sebagai platform atau media belajar dalam pembelajaran jarak jauh (PJJ).

Abstract

A teacher needs to improve educational competence in order to improve the quality of education in Indonesia. One way to do this is through Classroom Action Research (PTK). Based on the results of observations and interviews at SD Nusa Cendana International Plus School (NCIPS) Kupang, it is known that there are many teachers who do not understand the practice of implementing PTK, its benefits in implementing the teaching and learning process, and how to implement PTK practically. Therefore, the San Pedro University Community Service Team (PKM) is interested in providing PTK training to NCIPS Kupang Elementary School teachers. The PKM was carried out on May 13-14, 2022 through 3 stages, namely the preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages. The results showed that the PTK training at SD NCIPS Kupang was able to have a positive impact on teachers, especially in understanding the implementation of PTK. In addition, the participants who participated in the activities were very enthusiastic and cooperative

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pengaruh penerapan pendekatan kontekstual terhadap pemahaman gramatikal dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris di tingkat Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA). Metode tinjauan literatur digunakan untuk menganalisis temuan yang berkaitan dengan pendekatan kontekstual dari berbagai sumber, seperti buku teks, jurnal ilmiah, dan laporan penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan kontekstual secara konsisten memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap pemahaman tata bahasa siswa. Mengintegrasikan materi pembelajaran yang relevan dengan konteks kehidupan sehari-hari siswa membuka ruang untuk pembelajaran yang lebih bermakna. Temuan ini menyoroti peningkatan keterampilan bahasa, termasuk berbicara, menulis, dan memahami teks bahasa Inggris. Rekomendasi penelitian meliputi pengintegrasian pendekatan kontekstual ke dalam kurikulum, pelatihan guru, dan penyediaan materi pembelajaran kontekstual. Strategi pengajaran yang beragam, seperti penggunaan studi kasus dan proyek kehidupan nyata, diusulkan untuk memberikan pengalaman belajar yang lebih kontekstual kepada siswa. Evaluasi dan pemantauan yang berkelanjutan direkomendasikan untuk memastikan efektivitas pendekatan ini. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi pada pengembangan pembelajaran bahasa Inggris di sekolah menengah atas, meningkatkan relevansi materi pembelajaran, dan memberikan dampak positif terhadap pemahaman tata bahasa siswa

Abstract

Community Service Activities (PkM) were carried out in East Baumata village, Central Kupang District, Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara with the target of MSME partners of the Nekemolo Farmer Group. PKM activities are carried out with the aim of providing understanding to partners about the supporting factors of business activities in their villages, namely marketing strategy factors, product legality and financial management so that the business activities carried out are not only profit-oriented, but business activities can continue to grow in the future by paying attention to and applying supporting factors for business activities. To achieve this goal, PKM activities are held in the form of socialization about business legality, especially regarding brands and legality in business activities, product marketing strategies and digital financial management. The socialization is adjusted to the problems and needs faced by MSME partners of the Nekemolo Farmer Group, East Baumata Village, Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. Partners are also given training on product marketing strategies using digital marketing and financial management using software. The method of carrying out activities consists of three stages. The first stage of preparation includes pre-survey, team building, proposal creation and submission, team and partner coordination and preparation of training tools and materials. The second stage is the program implementation stage in the form of socialization and training. Socialization is carried out through counseling (material presentation) and discussion while training is carried out through tutorials and mentoring. The third stage is the evaluation and reporting stage. Evaluation is carried out by comparing the condition of partners before and after the implementation of the program with interview and observation methods. After that, a report is prepared for further publication. The material presented in socialization is in the form of brands as marketing strategies in business activities, the role of digital marketing as a strategy in product marketing and bookkeeping using software. Training topics include how to register products to get a brand online, creating accounts in digital media and the application of accounting in financial management using software. The results and outputs of activities after socialization are carried out, namely first, partners experience an increase in understanding of the brand and want to register products (brand awareness) as a marketing strategy and partners implement attractive brand creation and "sell" for their products. Second, partners become aware and able to manage finances digitally. With the implementation of this program, it is hoped that there will be improvements in the economic sector of the community in MSMEs Nekemolo Farmer Group, East Baumata Village, Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. Other outputs are publications in national journals with ISSN as mandatory outputs and IPR scientific articles

Abstract

This study attempts to ascertain the level of difficulty and quality of the English exam items created by SMA Negeri Saenam Kuanfatu teachers. The author employed a combination of mixed methods for data analysis. 40 multiple-choice test items and student answer sheets served as the instrument. 12 (30%) of the multiple-choice questions were classified as easy test items, 20 (50%) as moderate, and 8 (20%) as difficult items, according to the difficulty level analysis of the items using the formula suggested by Arikunto (2013). It can be concluded that the multiple choice test items were well reviewed from the difficulty level.

Abstract

The United Kingdom storytelling training is an effort made to increase the interest and storytelling skills of Sint Carolus Kupang Catholic High School (SMA) students. This school has difficulty managing United Kingdom storytelling activities as one of its extracurricular activities due to the lack of competent Human Resources (HR) so that this activity is not in great demand by students. Storytelling is the activity of telling an event in an interactive way. The activity began by providing an explanation of storytelling and the ability to speak United Kingdom. After that, the speaker practiced United Kingdom storytelling directly in front of the participants and ended with the speaker inviting participants to participate in the storytelling practice by demonstrating storytelling in front of the class. It is hoped that this storytelling training can motivate students to improve their storytelling skills in United Kingdom and also motivate teaching staff in managing and presenting teaching materials for United Kingdom extracurriculars, especially storytelling

Abstract

The objectives of this study are to assess the proficiency of second-grade students in utilizing suitable verbs to complete a recount text and to identify the challenges encountered by these students in completing a recount text at the junior high school level. The researcher employed a qualitative approach to analyze the data. The study included a population of 20 students, and the researcher selected a random sample of 15 students. The researcher used a test as a tool to complete the recount text, selecting appropriate verbs from the provided list. The researcher employed various formulas to analyze the data. The findings indicate that the second-grade students lack proficiency in selecting suitable verbs to effectively complete the text. The analysis supports this conclusion, revealing a competency level of 56.52% among the students. We classify this skill as "poor," and the pupils achieved an average grade of 56.33%.

Abstract

One of the cultural heritages of the Indonesian nation is the Etu traditional boxing tradition. Besides being loaded with various skills and dexterity for self-defense, Etu's traditional boxing is also to test virility, courage between youths in Nagekeo district who are rich with the traditions that surround them. Etu's traditional boxing sport is very rich in socio-cultural values ​​and philosophical meanings. This study aims to find out: 1) The noble values ​​contained in Etu, 2) Describe the formation of Community Character in Etu sports, 3). Describe Sports Education Activities for Schools. in the Nagekeo district of East Nusa Tenggara, and saw the process of inheriting the Etu traditional boxing sport from generation to generation. This study uses a qualitative approach where data is obtained using Miles Matthew's analysis. B and Huberman Michael, which consists of three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and ends with drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that Etu's traditional boxing is not just a sport. Etu's traditional boxing sport is a means to gain movement experience which is useful for growth and development of physical and fitness, mental and courage, in addition to uniting, familiarizing one with another, but full of value and meaning in people's lives.
