Abstract

This study aimed to determine the air quality in the community settlements around the Kebon Kongok Dusun Landfill, Suka Makmur Village, West Lombok Regency. The type of research used was an experiment using NA media as a growth medium for bacteria at 3 points passed by garbage trucks in community settlements and 1 point not passed by garbage trucks in the Kebon Kongok landfill area, Suka Makmur Village. Air quality in residential communities around the waste disposal sites (WDS) Suka Makmur Village does not meet the requirements based on the Minister of Health Regulation number 1077 of 2011 concerning the requirements for biological contaminants, namely the germ count of less than 700 CFU/m3. The air quality index is lower than the other points, namely at Point I of 3,779 CFU/m3, because Point I is a sampling location far from garbage trucks going to the TPA. The highest results in this study were obtained at Point IV, which was 6,933 CFU/m3; this was estimated because the sampling location was in a community settlement which was less than 50 meters from the Kebon Kongok TPA gate with active trucks and heavy equipment activity in the TPA. Microscopic observation obtained gram-positive bacteria at all points.

Abstract

Sampah yang timbul dari aktivitas yang dilakukan manusia semakin bertambah volumenya seiring meningkatnya populasi penduduk, tingkat konsumsi, serta kemajuan teknologi. Sampah rumah tangga merupakan salah satu sumber sampah yang cukup besar peranannya dalam peningkatan volume sampah di suatu lingkungan sehingga perlu melakukan pengolahan sampah organik dengan mengolahnya menjadi kompos (pupuk organik). Limbah organik yang dihasilkan bersumber dari limbah pertanian, perkebunan dan rumah tangga. 40% limbah organik tersebut belum termanfaatkan dengan optimal, karena terkendala pada tingkat kesadaran, tingkat pengetahuan dan ekonomi masyarakat, sehingga dengan melakukan edukasi dan pelatihan memanfaatkan limbah organik untuk membuat Mikroorganisme Lokal (MOL) sebagai aktivator pupuk organik pada KWT, merupakan alternatif untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan KWT , sehingga dapat mengedukasi masyarakat agar tidak melakukan pembakaran sampah, dan agar tetap menjaga kelestarian lingkungan serta dapat dikembangkan untuk meningkatkan ekonomis masyarakat.Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah metode praktikum secara langsung dan metode ceramah.sehingga diperoleh Mol dari nasi dan bonggol pisang.Pemakaian pupuk organik yang dikombinasikan dengan mol dapat menghemat penggunaan pupuk kimia hingga 400 kg per musim tanam pada 1 ha sawah. Waktu pembuatan relatif singkat dan cara pembuatannya mudah. Selain itu mol juga ramah lingkungan

Abstract

The development of hotels in Lombok is very drastic, especially in tourist areas. In carrying out their activities, hotels require large amounts of water to meet the needs of guests and employees; besides that, water use in a hotel is also seen in the supporting facilities. Using large amounts of clean water will also produce large quantities of wastewater. This research aims to evaluate wastewater treatment installations at XY Hotel. The method used in this research is a field study followed by an analysis of water quality, process, and output. Based on the evaluation results, the Wastewater Treatment Plant at Hotel Aerobic has capacities of 20 m3/day, 15 m3/day, and 2 m3/day respectively.

Abstract

Tourism is one of the most rapidly growing sectors globally and plays a vital role in regional development by contributing to foreign exchange earnings, job creation, and poverty alleviation. Gili Trawangan, a small island in West Lombok, is a popular marine tourism destination experiencing rapid growth in tourist visits and supporting infrastructure, such as hotels and restaurants. This growth has led to increased population density and higher environmental pressures, particularly in the form of liquid waste and pollutants entering coastal waters. If not properly managed, these pollutants can degrade water quality and marine ecosystems. This study aims to assess the quality of seawater in the Villa Ombak area of Gili Trawangan, located in Pemenang District. A quantitative research method was applied, with seawater samples collected from six stations using the Niskin bottle method at a depth of one meter. Parameters analyzed included physical (temperature, total suspended solids/TSS), chemical (pH, salinity, dissolved oxygen/DO, ammonia-N/NH₃-N, nitrate-N/NO₃-N, phosphate/PO₄, oil and fat), and biological (total and faecal coliform) characteristics. Laboratory analysis was conducted at the Mataram PUPR Laboratory, and results were compared to the Indonesian Government Regulation (PP) No. 22 of 2021 on seawater quality standards. The findings showed that all measured parameters met the required quality standards for marine tourism and biota. Recorded values included a temperature of 29°C, TSS 2.5 mg/L, pH 8.2, salinity 33 PSU, DO 6.9 mg/L, NH₃-N 0.019 mg/L, NO₃-N 0.0017 mg/L, oil and fat <0.03 mg/L, total coliform 185 MPN/100 mL, and faecal coliform 0 MPN/100 mL. Although still within safe limits, ongoing monitoring and environmental management are essential to prevent ecological degradation and to ensure the sustainability of marine tourism in the area.

Abstract

Biogas merupakan energi terbarukan yang dihasilkan dari proses fermentasi anaerobik bahan organik, seperti kotoran ternak, limbah pertanian dan limbah rumah tangga, namun selama ini limbah tersebut belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal oleh masyarakat Desa Darmaji dan seringkali dibuang begitu saja, bahkan mencemari lingkungan sekitar. Pembuangan kotoran ternak sembarangan yang tidak ditangani secara baik telah menyebabkan pencemaran lingkungan di sekitar desa, baik air, tanah dan udara dari terbentuknya gas H2S pada timbulan feses Sapi dan limbah organik lainnya. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan yaitu  melalui Program Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakatyang dilakukan oleh Dosen STTL Mataram antara lain mengenalkan biogas sebagai solusi energi alternatif yang ramah lingkungan. Hasil pengabdian yaitu perubahan temperatur cenderung  konstan  mendekati temperatur lingkungan    yaitu    berkisar antara  23 –30°C. Hal  ini  berarti  bakteri yang  bekerja  pada  digester  tersebut  adalah bakteri mesophilik. Tekanan yang terbentuk setiap hari terus meningkat hingga 8,3 KPA, pada hari ke-5 diperoleh 5,1 KPA. Nyala api yang terbentuk berwarna biru.

Abstract

Environmental Health Risk Analysis (ARKL) Aims to estimate the risks that will occur. Lead is one of the air pollutant substances produced from vehicle exhaust emissions. The purpose of this study was to estimate the risk of exposure to lead (Pb) to parking attendants on Inspeksi PAM road Makassar City. This Research Method is Quantitative by Using Observational Method with Environmental Risk Analysis Approach (ARKL). The survey was conducted during January-March 2020, with a total of 3 respondents. Result of the study it was shown that the highest concentration of Pb was at point 1 at the T-junction of Inspeksi PAM road and Abdullah Daeng sirua road where the measurement results in the morning were 0.396 µg /Nm3 and during the day is 0.469 µg/Nm3, the Inhalation Rate for Traffic Volunteers is 0.83 m3/hour, and the safe concentration of Lead (Pb) for respondents for a body weight of 40 kg with a duration of exposure for 2 years is 0.46 mg /m3. The conclusion of this study is that Traffic Volunteers who are on Inspeksi PAM road do not have a carcinogenic risk where RQ< 1 is obtained.

Abstract

Crackers are a popular snack product and have long been known by the people of Indonesia as a complement to meals that are often not left behind; without these snacks, people often feel something is missing in their diet. Manufacturers often misuse sodium tetraborate as white crystals with the chemical formula Na2B4O7. This quantitative research uses an experimental method using four samples of sape crackers. This research aims to determine the sape crackers in Soro village, Lambu subdistrict, Bima regency. Quantitative analysis of borax in the sape cracker sample was 9.67 µg/mL in sample A, 12.17 µg/mL in B sample, 13.89 µg/mL in the C sample, and 62.01 µg/mL in the D sample. This study concludes that the sape crackers produced in Soro Village, Lambu District, Bima Regency, from the four samples studied, were all positive for containing borax. It is hoped that producers can use permitted food additives such as Sodium Tripolyphosphate (STPP).

Abstract

This research aims to determine the level of reduction in BOD and COD in household wastewater after the filtration process and to determine the efficiency of the filter media in reducing BOD and COD in sewage. The research was conducted in Bilebante village, Central Lombok Regency, NTB. The method takes three wastewater samples at different locations before and after the filtration stage. The results of the research show that the COD concentration in domestic wastewater before going through the processing process using filtration media obtained a result of 63 mgl/L, then at the filtration stage using plastic bottle media, the result was 34 mgl/L with an efficiency value of 46%, and at the filtration stage using activated carbon media, a value of 12 mgl/L was obtained so that the resulting efficiency value was 64%. The results of the BOD concentration in domestic wastewater before going through the processing process using filtration media obtained an initial result of 1.6 mgl/L; then, at the filtration stage using plastic bottle media, the result was 0.6 mgl/L with an efficiency value of 62 %. At the filtration stage using active carbon media, a value of 0 mgl/L was obtained, with an efficiency value of 100%. This research concludes that wastewater is safe to use, whether for watering plants or other things because there is a decrease in levels of COD and BOD that meet quality standards.

Abstract

Tujuan untuk menganalisis komposisi dan potensi daur ulang sampah di Tempat Pembuangan Sementara. Sandubaya Sweta, Kota Mataram. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pengambilan sampel dan pemilahan sampah selama delapan hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa total timbulan sampah mencapai 96,40 kg dengan rata-rata 12,05 kg per hari. Komposisi sampah didominasi oleh sisa makanan (25%), sampah tumbuhan (15%), kertas (16%), serta sampah yang sulit didaur ulang (17%). Dari total sampah yang dianalisis, sekitar 54% memiliki potensi untuk dimanfaatkan kembali melalui proses daur ulang, seperti sampah kertas, plastik, kain/tekstil, dan kaca. Potensi ini dapat mendukung pengembangan konsep ekonomi sirkular dan mengurangi volume sampah yang dibuang ke Tempat Pemrosesan Akhir (TPA). Namun, kurangnya pemilahan sampah dari sumber menjadi tantangan utama dalam optimalisasi daur ulang. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan strategi pengelolaan yang terintegrasi melalui edukasi, penyediaan fasilitas pemilahan, dan pemberdayaan bank sampah agar pengelolaan sampah di Kota Mataram dapat lebih efektif dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Sampah organik masih menjadi salah satu jenis sampah yang dibuang ke Tempat pembuangan Akhir (TPA), salah satu penyebabnya adalah  Kurangnya kesadaran serta pengetahuan masyarakat tentang pengolahan sampah Organik. Pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui penerapan komposter vertikal merupakan solusi efektif dan berkelanjutan untuk mengatasi limbah organik rumah tangga, terutama di area dengan keterbatasan lahan. Pendekatan ini mengubah sampah organik menjadi pupuk kompos yang berguna, sekaligus mengurangi emisi metana dari tempat pembuangan sampah.Tujuan dari Pelaksanaan Kegiatan pengabdian Masyarakat inia dalah untuk Memberikan edukasi terhadap masyarakat tentang pengolahan sampah organik yang sederhana dan dapat dilakukan langsung oleh Masyarakat. Diharapkan Edukasi dan Pelatihan yang diberikan dapat bermanfaat bagi masyarakat untuk jangka panjang.
