Abstract

Waste management in West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Government focuses on two main things, namely the reduction and handling and providing of TPA which is still operated with an open dumping system. Application of an open system in TPA will cause many problems, including air pollution by methane gas and the greenhouse effect. This study aims to determine the potential methane gas content of the Kebon Kongok landfill as an alternative energy source by modelling using LandGEM. The data in this study consisted of the year of the TPA operation plan and the annual data on the waste generation of TPA. The results showed that the potential content of methane gas was 12,999,633.62 m3/year, or equivalent to 14,520.88 MWh/year, in the form of gas as much as 9,966.38 Megagrams of LPG/ year. Therefore, the Kebon Kongok TPA has the potential to be used as a power plant fuelled by methane gas and facilitates electricity connections for the surrounding community because when compared to other existing renewable energy plants in the Lombok Electricity System, the capacity of 1.66 Megawatts was already  equivalent to the power generation  capacity which are already operating commercially.

Abstract

The ability to count is one of the important abilities in everyday life, it can be said that all activities of human life require this ability. this is a separate problem for teachers considering that learning at the primary and secondary education levels has differences where teachers in primary schools must master various materials from all subjects. The training method used is lecture, discussion, practice, and question and answer methods. Based on data, about 83.3% of teachers are enthusiastic about participating in the training and 16.7% of teachers who are not very enthusiastic about participating in the training. This shows that PKM activities with multiplication training using fingers are responded well and are in demand by teachers. There are several obstacles related to counting using finger media, namely errors in calculating line segments, distinguishing multiplier numbers and multiplied numbers. Therefore, we hope that teachers will often repeat or practice themselves by looking at the guidelines that have been given so that there are no mistakes in teaching students.

Abstract

This article is a part of studies to investigate the potential of natural products from Lombok Island for antidiabetic agents. This study was directed to learn the metabolite variations of peanut hulls collected from three different locations in Lombok Island. The hull samples were extracted in methanol, followed by partition process into three fractions using three solvents with varied polarities (dichloromethane, hexane and acetone). The fractions were then separated and identified for their chemical composition by using GC-MS instrument. Metabolite variations of three extracts showed that the antidiabetic compounds stigmast-5-en-3-ol and oleic acid were found in all three locations with different percentages of abundance. Another antidiabetic compound, linoleic acid, was only identified in peanut hulls from the village of Pringga Jurang (PJ). Besides the antidiabetic compounds, there were other major compounds with known biological activities discussed to find other uses of the hulls.

Abstract

The purpose of the service is to design a wastewater treatment installation system that will be used for laboratory waste in the Mataram STTL environment. The problem of liquid waste from the laboratory in the STTL Mataram environment from the existing conditions does not yet have a Waste Water Management Installation (IPAL). Liquid waste from the laboratory is still in the same network as domestic liquid waste. So it is necessary to make a special WWTP for the liquid waste of the Mataram STTL Environmental Laboratory. Before making the WWTP first, knowing the content of the wastewater, this aims to find out what types of waste are most commonly found in laboratory liquid waste, so that laboratory wastewater testing is carried out using several parameters such as BOD, COD, TSS, pH and Colifrom. In testing the wastewater of the Mataram STTL Laboratory, Colifrom bacteria are bacteria that exceed the Threshold Value and wastewater treatment plants can be made during the service process.

Abstract

This researh aims to detect the presence of histamine by forming complex compounds of 5-fluorouracil, Mn (II) metal ions and alizarin red S reagents. This type of research is a laboratory experiment. This research was conducted at the Ikip Chemistry Laboratory in 2019. The results showed that the Test Kit that was made could be used to detect the presence of histamine determining the existence of histamine qualitatively viewable color formed based on complex compounds of  Mn(II)-His-5FU-ARS seen from the shift in wavelength of maximum generated.. The making of the histamine test kit is made by varying the concentration of 10-100 ppm at 10 ppm   intervals under optimum conditions and can be used to make a color comparator solution. Then  the method validity test is done by making a standard histamine curve that gives a regression equation  y = 0.001x + 0.3364 with a correlation coefficient (r2) = 0.9972. Based on the validity test method, the accuracy value is in the range of  95.0-106% and the results of the test kit on tuna samples indicate that the histamine test kit made has a good accuracy value because the average recovery value is 96%.

Abstract

The learning process is inspiring, fun, challenging, and motivates students to participate actively, providing space for students to be creative according to their abilities. Therefore we need a learning method with an appropriate approach in order to explore student abilities in aspects of skills. Learning with discovery learning approach is one approach that can be applied to develop students' skills, namely the ability to think creatively. Learning by discovery emphasizes the activities of students to learn on their own and eventually will find results. Here the teacher is no longer a giver of knowledge but acts as a facilitator or supervisor. That is because the discovery learning approach provides opportunities for students to explore thinking skills in finding their own knowledge and building creative reasoning according to their respective abilities. Indirectly students will be directed to become a researcher who is required to have the ability to think creatively.

Abstract

Cigarette butt waste can be used for biopesticides for environmentally friendly agricultural activities. Biopesticides cigarette can be produced by conducting a maceration extraction test using polar, non-polar, and semi-polar compounds and conducting a Mass Spectrometer Chromatography (GC-MS) test. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of bio-pesticide based on tobacco extract from cigarette butt waste for maize (Zea mays L.)". The highest yield value was the ethanol sample of 1.208%, compared to the N-hexane sample of 0.25% and the DCM sample of 0.6%. For the comparison of solvents used were 500 ml of ethanol, 250 ml of N-hexane, and 250 ml for DCM as well. After conducting the GC-MS test, the compounds obtained are alkaloid compounds, phenolic compounds, sesquiterpenoid compounds, and terpenoid compounds, each of which has benefits as a pest control or deterrent to plants. For the effectiveness test results on Corn (Zea mays L.), there was no intensity of pest attack on the ethanol sample, N-hexane sample, and DCM sample. In contrast, there was a pest attack intensity of 0.3% for the control sample. Therefore, the Biopesticides studied are similar to synthetic pesticides because they can eradicate pests and make growth effective faster.

Abstract

One of the causes of water pollution is the presence of workshop activities. Gasoline residue from washing spare parts and washing hands after repairing and maintaining motor vehicles can harm the surrounding environment, namely water pollution. This study aims to determine the efficiency of reducing the levels of pH, BOD, COD, TSS, oil and grease, Ammonia, and total coliform in wastewater from Astra workshop operations using three treatment and treatment units in the piping section and to determine the design of wastewater treatment tanks for operation astra workshop. Based on the preliminary test results, the waste from Astra workshop activities had a pH content of 7.2, a BOD content of 2.9 mg/l, a COD content of 58 mg/l, a TSS content of 2.45 mg/l, an oil and fat content of 8.702 mg/l, the ammonia content was 0.027 mg/l. The total coliform content was 2000 MPN/ml. Of these values, there is one parameter that does not meet the quality standards according to the Decree of the Minister of Environment and Forestry No. 68 of  2016 concerning Domestic Waste Quality Standards, namely a pH concentration of 6-9, a maximum level of BOD of 30 mg/l, a maximum level of COD of 100 mg/l, a maximum level of TSS of 30 mg/l, a maximum concentration of oils and fats allowed 5 mg/l, maximum ammonia concentration of 10 mg/l, and maximum permitted total coliform content of 3000 MPN/ml. This workshop liquid waste treatment uses three treatment and treatment units in the piping section with one filtration media, which is carried out in duplicate to anticipate and minimize the possibility of errors that can occur during the process. Efficiency in reducing parameters in liquid waste from Astra workshop operations using filtration media and treatment in the piping section can reduce the pH concentration by -15.29%, from an initial concentration of 7.2 to 8.5, TSS by 59.18% from an initial concentration of 2.45 mg/l to 1 mg /l. BOD was 72.41% from an initial concentration of 2.9 mg/l to 0.8 mg/l. COD was 65.51% from an initial concentration of 58 mg/l to 20 mg/l. Fatty oil was 45.41% from an initial concentration of 8,702 mg/l to 4.75 mg/l. Ammonia by 48.14% from the initial concentration of 0.027 mg/l to 0.014 mg/l, and Total Coliform by 100% from 2000 MPN/ml to 0 MPN/ml.
