Abstract

Torch ginger flower which functions as antibiotic and antioxidant is potential to be used as feed additive in ration to improve local duck production.  This study was aimed at assessing the effects of the inclusion of torch ginger flower solution in rations on the percentages of carcass and meat commercial cuts of male local ducks.  The study was conducted at Poultry Laboratory of Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, Djuanda University, Bogor from June to August 2016.  Twenty-four male local ducks aged 2 weeks with mean initial body weight of 450±70.35 g were used.  Ducks were fed basal rations containing 20–22% crude protein.    Torch ginger flower solution was included in the rations.  Ducks were allocated into battery cages of 150 x 40 cm each.  A completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 3 replicates was used.  Treatments consisted of commercial ration (PK) + 0% torch ginger flower solution (LBK) (R1), PK + 2.5% LBK (R2), PK + 5% LBK (R3), and PK + 7.5% LBK (R4).  Measurements were taken on the percentage of carcass and meat commercial cuts (wing, breast, back, thigh).  Data were subjected to an analysis of variance and a Duncan test.  Results showed that treatments gave significant effects (P<0.05) on carcass percentage but not on meat commercial cuts.  It was concluded that the inclusion of torch ginger flower solution in rations of up to 7.5% increased carcass percentage and tended to increase breast and thigh percentages.  It was suggested that the inclusion of torch ginger flower solution in rations be done by 5% to result in higher and more economical duck meat commercial cuts (breast and thigh). Key words: carcass percentage, commercial cuts, male local duck, torch ginger flower solution

Abstract

Moringa leaves contain phytochemicals which can be used to improve the performance of quails in their growing period.  This study was aimed at assessing the effects of the inclusion of moringa leaf solution in drinking water on the performance of quails.  The study was conducted at Badrupuyuh Farm, Sukajaya Village RT 01/02, Ciomas, Bogor Regency from October to December 2017.  One-hundred quail birds aged 7 days with average initial body weight of 17.87±0.46 g were used.  The birds were fed starter and grower commercial rations.  Moringa leaf solution was given through drinking water.  A completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 5 replicates was used.   Treatments consisted of drinking water containing no moringa leaf solution (R0), drinking water containing 5% moringa leaf solution (R1), drinking water containing 10% moringa leaf solution (R2), drinking water containing 15% moringa leaf solution (R3).  Data were subjected to an analysis of variance and a Duncan test.  Measurements were taken on feed intake, body weight gain (BWG), feed conversion, and mortality rate.  Results showed that there were significant effects (P<0.05) of treatments on BWG in week 2 and 4 and feed conversion in week 2.  No mortality of quails was found.  It was concluded that the inclusion of 10% moringa leaf solution in drinking water could increase BWG in week 2 and 4, improve feed conversion, and maintain the life of quails.  It was recommended that further studies on the effects of moringa leaf solution inclusion in drinking water on egg production in laying period.  Key words: performance, quail, moringa leaf solution

Abstract

This research aims to improve the performance of the initial period of quail production and can provide information on the effects of each treatment of early period quail production performance. This research was carried out on February 7, 2017 up to March 15, 2017. This research was carried out on the Unit the entrepreneurial Cottage Farm Dewin Assalam SQF (Slamet Quail Farm) JL. Port II km. 20 Sukamantri Village Kec. Cikembar-Sukabumi West Java. This research using quail Coturnix coturnix laying Strain race japonica produced by CV. Slamet quail farm about 180 tail. Feed used is the feed sp2 with commercial treatment p0: the feed control commercial ( feed without additional flour garlic and flour caraway ), P1: the commercial feed with the addition of 2 % flour garlic P2: the commercial feed with additional % flour caraway 2, and P3: the feed ( feed commercial combination with the addition of 1 % flour garlic and 1 % flour caraway ). Treatment performed on quail 30 days until age 60 days.Feed and drinking water was given in adlibitum ( always available ).Design used is ral ( draft random complete ) to 4 treatment and 3 remedial.The results of the study showed the absence of influence on the consumption feed, conversion feed, the production of eggs and depleso.The results of the study showed that the feed commercial added flour caraway impact significant at rataan weight of eggs with the economic situation of 2 %.Keys : performances of quail , additional flour garlic and flour jintant , quail laying race , feed , cv slamet quail farm

Abstract

This research aims to improve the external quality of quail eggs both in terms of eggs full weight, eggs index, and eggshell thickness. This research also provides information of the effect of the treatment that has been tested on the external quality of quail eggs. Quail used is layer quailstrain Coturnix coturnix japonica produced by CV. Slamet Quail Farm as many as 225 quails. The feed used is commercial feed with trade mark SP2 produced by PT. Sinta Feedmill and the experimental layout used was Complete Random Layout (RAL) with the following treatment is: P0 (commercial feed without the addition of ginger flour and turmeric flour), P1 (Provision of commercial feed with addition of 1% ginger flour), P2 (provision of commercial feed with addition of 1% turmeric flour), and P3 (Provision of commercial feed with 0.5% addition of ginger flour and 0.5% turmeric flour). Treatment was performed on quail aged 35 days until age 80 days. Abstract

The quail is one kind of poultries that can give the distribution of society interests in case of eggs providing.  There are kinds of research that related to feed aspect, one of them is the way to increase the quality of feed by adding tofu waste and tomato flour on commercial feed. The aim of this research is to review the influences of giving the tofu waste and tofu tomato flour on commercial feed toward quail performance (cortunix cortunix japonica) in layer period.  Complete randomized design with used by the following treatment P0 (Provision of commercial feed without tofu and tomato flour), P1 (Provision of commercial food with 2.5% tofu dregs and 2.5% tomato flour), P2 (Provision of commercial food with 5% dregs of tofu and 5% tomato flour and P3 (giving commercial food with 7.5% tofu waste and 7.5% tomato flour).The treatment was conducted to quail aged 35 days until 67 days old. The feed and drink was given by adlibitium (always available). Giving tofu waste and tomato flour does not affect the feed consumption, egg’s weight, feed convertion, depletion, and the production of quail’s egg in layer period.Key words : Quail performance of layer period, tofu waste, tomato flour,  commercial feed

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengamati pengaruh pemberian air rebusan daun sirih dalam air minum terhadap bobot potong dan presentase karkas kelinci lokal. Penelitian dilaksanakan dari bulan April 2015 sampai dengan Mei 2015 . Lokasi penelitian yaitu di PT. Indoanilab yang berada di Kampung Carang Pulang Rt 04 Rw 06 Desa Cikarawang, Kecamatan Dramaga, Kabupaten Bogor, Jawa Barat. Ternak yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kelinci lokal lepas sapih yang berumur 2 bulan. Jumlah ternak yang digunakan sebanyak 24 ekor dengan bobot badan rata-rata 1,5 kg. Pakan yang digunakan adalah pakan komersil berbentuk pellet merk Indofeed K-03 super. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap Faktorial (RALF), terdiri dari 6 perlakuan masing-masing 3 taraf dosis/jumlah daun sirih yang direbus dan 2 taraf waktu/lama perebusan dengan 4 ulangan. Adapun perlakuan yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu faktor pertama, lama perebusan sebanyak 2 taraf yaitu : R1 = 10 menit dan R2 = 20 menit. Faktor kedua, jumlah daun sirih sebanyak 3 taraf yaitu : S1 = 250 gram/liter, S2 = 200 gram/liter, S3 = 150 gram/liter. Peubah yang diamati adalah bobot potong, bobot karkas dan presentase karkas. Pengolahan data dianalisis menggunakan SPSS 21. Hasil penelitian dengan menggunakan uji Duncan menunjukan bahwa pemberian air rebusan daun sirih dalam air minum terhadap bobot potong dan presentase karkas kelinci lokal tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05).

Abstract

Kondisi yang ada terkait dengan masalah utama dalam pengembangan ayam kampung adalah biaya ransum yang mahal. Alternatif untuk mengatasi biaya ransum yang mahal adalah dengan cara mengganti sebagian ransum komersial dengan dedak padi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh penggantian sebagian ransum komersial dengan dedak padi terhadap performa ayam kampung.Penelitian ini menggunakan 100 ekor anak ayam kampung umur 1 hari (DOC). Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan, 5 ulangan dan setiap unit percobaan terdiri atas 5 ekor DOC. Ransum perlakuan terdiri atas perlakuan P0 = 100% Ransum komersial, P1 = 85% Ransum komersial + 15% Dedak padi, P2 = 70% Ransum komersial + 30% Dedak padi dan P3 = 55% Ransum komersial + 45% Dedak padi.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggantian sebagian ransum komersial dengan dedak padi sampai 45% tidak memberikan pengaruh yang berbeda nyata terhadap rataan bobot badan, pertambahan bobot badan, konsumsi ransum, konversi ransum dan mortalitas ayam kampung selama penelitian. Oleh karena itu, penggantian sebagian ransum komersial dengan dedak padi sampai 45% dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif mengatasi biaya ransum yang mahal.

Abstract

Kondisi fisiologis merupakan salah satu faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi produktifitas ternak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pemberian berbagai level ransum fermentasi isi rumen sapi terhadap kondisi fisiologis domba ekor tipis jantan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 9 September sampai 4 Desember 2014. Penelitian ini berlokasi di Desa Tambilung RT 03/RW 04, Kelurahan Mekarjaya, Kecamatan Rumpin, Kabupaten Bogor. Ternak yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah 12 ekor domba ekor tipis jantan, dengan rataan bobot badan 11,15 ± 0,33 kg. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), terdiri atas 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan dalam penelitian ini yaitu R0 = 100% rumput lapangan, R1 = 50% rumput lapangan + 50% fermentasi isi rumen sapi, R2 = 25% rumput lapangan + 75% fermentasi isi rumen sapi, R3 = 15% rumput lapangan + 85% fermentasi isi rumen sapi. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) dan uji lanjut Duncan. Peubah yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah suhu badan, laju respirasi dan detak jantung domba ekor tipis jantan. Hasil analisis laju respirasi, detak jantung dan suhu badan domba ekor tipis jantan selama penelitian menunjukan hasil yang tidak berbeda nyata (P > 0,05).

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh produksi telur burung puyuh yang diberi larutan ekstrak kunyit. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 17 mei 2015 sampai dengan 13 juni 2015. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kandang ternak unggas jurusan peternakan, Universitas Djuanda Bogor. Penelitian ini menggunakan burung puyuh petelur sebanyak 80 ekor. Rancangan yang digunakkan adalah rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) dengan 5 perlakuan dan 4 kelompok, dimana perlakuan R0 tanpa penambahan larutan ekstrak kunyit (kontrol), R1 penambahan 1 ml ekstrak kunyit dalam 500 ml air minum, R2 penambahan 2 ml ekstrak kunyit dalam 500 ml air minum, R3 penambahan 3 ml ekstrak kunyit dalam 500 ml air minum dan R4 penambahan 4 ml ekstrak kunyit dalam 500 ml air minum. Peubah yang diamati adalah konsumsi pakan, konsumsi air minum, produksi telur, konversi pakan dan bobot telur. Berdasarkan hasil dan pembahasan, maka pemberian kunyit dengan taraf 4 ml dalam air minum dapat berpengaruh nyata P(<0,05) terhadap peningkatan konsumsi pakan dan tidak berpengaruh nyata P(>0,05) terhadap peningkatan konsumsi air, produksi telur, bobot telur dan dapat menekan angka konversi pakan pada burung puyuh. Pemberian larutan ekstrak kunyit 4 ml dalam air minum 500 ml terhadap burung puyuh (Cortunix cortunix japonica) dapat meningkatkan konsumsi pakan. Tetapi tidak berpengaruh terhadap konsumsi air minum, produksi telur, bobot telur dan konversi pakan.
