Abstract

Abstrak: Penerapan pembelajaran daring dan tatap-muka terbatas di sekolah menimbulkan masalah, khususnya dengan tuntutan kurikulum dan pengurangan waktu belajar di sekolah akibat pandemi. Para guru IPA belum akrab dengan media blended learning yang mendukung pembelajaran sains dengan pendekatan saintifik dan belum melaksanakan pembelajaran daring yang efektif. Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk melatihkan para guru IPA dalam merancang, melaksanakan, dan mengevaluasi proses pembelajaran dengan model blended learning secara praktis dan efisien. Metode yang digunakan adalah pelatihan dalam studi evaluasi kelompok tunggal secara campuran. Mitra kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah MKKS SMP Negeri dan Swasta se-Kabupaten Gresik, Jawa Timur. Sasaran pelatihan adalah 42 guru pengampu IPA. Pelatihan ini berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan para guru IPA dalam membuat media blended learning dengan pendekatan saintifik sebesar 50%. Perubahan pengetahuan dan keterampilan ini tampak dari produk koleksi RPP interaktif serta Sumber Belajar atau Tugas Proyek digital dengan memperhatikan konten, desain, serta aspek teknis dan fungsionalitas.Abstract: The limited implementation of online and face-to-face learning in schools creates problems, especially with the demands of curriculum and reduced learning time in schools. Science teachers are not familiar with blended learning media and have not implemented online learning effectively. This community service activity aimed to facilitate the science teachers in designing, implementing, and evaluating the learning process with the blended learning model that met practical and efficient criteria. The method used is training in a single-group evaluation study that arranged in a blended program. The partner of this community service activity was the Principal Association (MKKS) for Public and Private Junior High Schools in the Gresik Regency, East Java. The target of this program were 42 science teachers. This training succeeded to improve the knowledge and skills of science teachers in making blended learning media by 50%. This change in knowledge and skills reflected from the collection of digital interactive Lesson Plans and Learning Resources or Project Assignments that met the content,

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has caused the government make policies by implementing online learning methods. Practical activities in the laboratory are not possible during online learning, so the lecturer develops student activity sheets as a practical guide at home with tools and materials that are easily found. This study aims to develop the validity and practicality of student activity sheets based on inquiry in the solution course, especially for making solutions from solid and liquid materials. Validity is viewed from the criteria of content, language, and presentation. Meanwhile, the practicality in terms of student activities during the learning process and student responses after the implementation of developed student activity sheets. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) design and is limited only to a limited product trial stage. The research was conducted on 91 students majoring in science class. The research instrument consisted of validation sheets, student activity observation sheets, and student response questionnaires. Data analysis that used in this study is descriptive quantitatively with percentage techniques. The results indicate that the developed student activity sheets are valid and very valid category because it reaches a value of 2.9. The most dominant student activity is discussing with a group of friends. The student activity sheet also received good and very good (positive) responses from students because it reached a percentage of 61% with good and very good categories. So it can be concluded that the developed student activity sheets are declared feasible to be used in the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to determine students’ achievement after applying the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model with the SETS approach through Energy-in-Living Systems video. The method was pre-experimental with one-group pretest-posttest design. The sampling method was purpose sampling involving class VII-H students at SMPN 26 Surabaya as many as 22 people. Data was collected through observation sheets (student activities and learning implementation), learning outcomes tests, and response questionnaires. Observation sheets were analyzed using a Likert scale (score range 1-4), learning outcomes tests included pretest and posttest (15 questions each) which were analyzed using the N-Gain test, and the response questionnaire using the Gutmann scale (Yes and No ). The results of student activities and the implementation of learning in two meetings were categorized very well. The learning outcomes of 15 students reached a percentage of 68% (criteria: high) and 7 students reached a percentage of 32% (criteria: moderate). The increase in the N-Gain score was obtained by 0.76 which was categorized as high and a total of 22 students completed so that the classical mastery of learning reached 100%. The responses of students who are interested in the application of the CTL model through video obtained an average percentage of 91.6%. It is concluded that the application of the CTL learning model with the SETS approach through Energy-in-Living Systems video was appropriate and succeeded in improving students’ achievement.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the improvement of students' science literacy on environmental pollution topics using an ethnoscience approach. The type of research is pre-experimental with a pretest-posttest one-group design. This research was conducted on students of class VII-B of State junior high school (SMP Negeri 49 Surabaya, Indonesia) in the 2021/2022 school year. Research instruments used are pretest-posttest sheets and response questionnaires. Data collection techniques used in this study include tests and questionnaires. The data analysis techniques used are normality tests, t-paired tests, and N-Gain tests. The results showed that students' science literacy increased significantly after applying ethnoscience-based learning to environmental pollution topics. The t-pair test obtained a p-value = 0.000 < 0.05, which significantly differed between post-test and pretest scores. N-Gain also gained an average of 0.73, which shows an increase in the science literacy ability of students with high categories. The results of student responses to learning with an ethnoscience approach to practicing student science literacy fall into the category of excellent, with an overall percentage of 97.5%. This study concludes that students' science literacy has improved after learning an ethnoscience approach to environmental pollution topics.

Abstract

The main objectives of this study is to describe students' scientific attitudes on the solubility and solubility product concept before and after guided inquiry-based learning. The scientific attitude in this study includes four indicators, that is student attitudes towards science, the importance of science in life, student responses to science as a career, and student responses to learning science in school. Scientific attitudes play an important role in student decision making to develop scientific knowledge further, pursue careers in science, and use scientific concepts and methods in their lives. This study used a survey method for 40 students enrolled in the 2017/2018 academic year. Data obtained through questionnaires and observations of scientific attitudes during learning activities. The questionnaire technique consisted of a self-assessment sheet and an assessment sheet between friends, each containing 30 statements (positive and negative). This sheet was given before and after learning activities. Data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively according to the description. The results of scientific attitudes obtained from the self-assessment sheet and among friends are presented in Table 1. From the results of the study, it was shown that student attitudes towards science were the highest scores for the scientific aspects and there were differences in students' scientific attitudes before and after guided inquiry-based learning on the solubility and solubility product concept.Keywords: Scientific attitude, guided inquiry, solubility and solubility product concept

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the effectiveness of concept mapping in improving student cognitive learning outcomes in material classification materials and their changes implemented in the public Junior High Schools in Surabaya, Indonesia. The research design used one group pretest-posttest. This research involved 16 students from class VII. This research's data collection methods included observation, test, and questionnaire. The results showed that the implementation of learning got 88.15% and 97.36%, with excellent categories at the first and second meetings. The average N-Gain for all students is 0.5 in the medium category. The students' responses to learning got excellent results. Concept mapping with a cooperative learning type Student Teams Achievement Division STAD can improve student cognitive learning outcomes on classification materials and their changes.

Abstract

Abstrak: Beralihnya pembelajaran daring ke luring tidak serta merta membawa perubahan yang signifikan dalam kualitas pembelajaran. Salah satu pendekatan pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan kebijakan sekolah tatap muka dan berpusat pada peserta didik adalah project based learning (PjBL). Masalah utama yang dihadapi para guru dalam menerapkan PjBL adalah kesulitan memilih dan membuat media pembelajaran yang praktis dan efisien. Tujuan pelatihan ini untuk mengatasi permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh para mitra (Guru IPA) dengan mengadakan pelatihan pembuatan media pembelajaran powerpoint interaktif berbasis PjBL. Metode pelaksanaan untuk menyelesaikan masalah ini dibagi dalam tiga tahap, yaitu tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan pelatihan dan pendampingan, serta pasca pelatihan dan pendampingan. Mitra kegiatan pelatihan ini adalah MGMP IPA SMP Kabupaten Magetan. Sasaran pelatihan adalah 55 guru mata pelajaran IPA. Indikator keberhasilan pelatihan dapat dilihat dari peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru dalam membuat media powerpoint interaktif. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa 89% guru mampu membuat media powerpoint sesuai dengan komponen-komponen yang wajib ada dalam powerpoint interaktif. Pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta setelah pelatihan meningkat yang ditandai dengan nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,75 dengan kriteria tinggi.Abstract: The shift from online to offline learning does not necessarily bring significant changes in the quality of learning. One learning approach that is in accordance with the face-to-face and student-centered school policy is project based learning (PjBL). The main problem faced by teachers in implementing PjBL is the difficulty of selecting and making practical and efficient learning media. The purpose of this training is to overcome the problems faced by partners (science teachers) by conducting training in making interactive powerpoint learning media based on PjBL. The implementation method for solving this problem is divided into three stages, namely the preparation stage, the implementation of training and mentoring, and post-training and mentoring. Partners of this training activity are MGMP IPA SMP Magetan Regency. The target of the training is 55 teachers of science subjects. The success indicator of the training can be seen from the increase in the knowledge and skills of teachers in making interactive powerpoint media. The results of the training show that 89% of teachers are able to make powerpoint media in accordance with the components that must exist in interactive powerpoints. The knowledge and skills of participants after the training have increased which is indicated by the N-Gain value of 0.75 with high criteria.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the effect of TGT learning model on improvement students’ cognitive learning outcomes in the human digestive system material and students’ responses to the TGT model. This research used a one group pretest posttest design. The data collection techniques used were test method to measure students’ learning outcomes, questionnaire method to determine students’ responses and observation method to measure learning implementation. The results of this research showed that there was an effect of TGT model on improvement students’ learning outcomes marked by the N-Gain score in high category. The implementation of the TGT model obtained responses from stundents with a very positive category and the learning implementation of the TGT model was in the very good category. The conclusion of this research was that the TGT learning model had an effect to improve students’ cognitive learning outcomes in the human digestive system material.

Abstract

The implementation of STEM-Inquiry learning puts forward the process of how students independently acquire knowledge through problem solving and have the ability to use that knowledge. STEM-Inquiry learning supported by the use of the CCR platform can support online learning activities, allow students to work in groups, and help students not only memorize concepts, but can understand and apply the acquired knowledge in everyday life. This study aims to determine student responses to the application of STEM-Inquiry learning on the topic of food loss and food waste. This research is a quantitative descriptive study using a survey method. The subjects of this study were students of Science Education Class of 2019 State University of Surabaya. The research instrument used was a questionnaire form. The questionnaire form provided consisted of 20 questions developed from 7 indicators, namely interest, novelty, convenience, clarity, interest, assessment, and response. The results showed that the average percentage of student questionnaire responses was 84.9% which was categorized as very positive, meaning that students had an interest and were interested in being involved in a meaningful learning experience. Based on this, it can be concluded that the application of STEM-Inquiry learning on the topic of food loss and food waste received a very positive response from students

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam mengintegrasikan teknologi Kecerdasan Buatan (AI) ke dalam Kurikulum Merdeka melalui pelatihan yang terfokus. Menggunakan pendekatan Participatory Action Research (PAR), program ini melibatkan 26 guru IPA dari Pasuruan, Indonesia, dalam workshop berstruktur berbasis AI menggunakan PowerPoint sebagai alat pembelajaran. Fase pelatihan meliputi persiapan, pelatihan langsung dengan kegiatan praktis, dan evaluasi pasca-pelatihan untuk memastikan transfer dan penerapan keterampilan. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan, dengan skor pengetahuan fitur AI meningkat dari 46,8% menjadi 61,5% untuk fungsi utama dan dari 59,6% menjadi 73,1% untuk transisi animasi. Umpan balik menyoroti perlunya penambahan durasi pelatihan dan sesi tatap muka yang berkelanjutan untuk mengoptimalkan pemahaman. Studi ini merekomendasikan pelatihan berkala yang berkelanjutan, terutama dengan memasukkan sesi praktis dan dukungan mentor, guna memperkuat kompetensi AI dan menjembatani kesenjangan akses teknologi di wilayah pendidikan pedesaan. Optimizing the Independent Curriculum through Teacher Training Assistance to Implement AI Technology in the Development of Learning Media This study aims to enhance teacher competence in integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology into the Independent Curriculum through focused training. Utilizing a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, the program engaged 26 science teachers from Pasuruan, Indonesia, in a structured AI-based workshop using PowerPoint as a teaching tool. The training phases included preparation, direct training with hands-on activities, and post-training evaluation to ensure skill transfer and application. The results of the program showed significant improvements, with knowledge scores on AI features rising from 46.8% to 61.5% for core functions and from 59.6% to 73.1% for animation transitions. Feedback highlighted the need for extended training duration and ongoing face-to-face sessions to optimize understanding. This study recommends sustained, periodic training, especially incorporating practical and mentor-supported sessions, to strengthen AI competencies and bridge technology access gaps in rural educational settings
