The result of this study, the students could understand spelling, pronunciation, and meaning and they could answer the test vocabulary easily through charades game. In this data, pre-test, and post-test as the research technique of data collection, then followed by analyzing the data using the t-test formula. The level of significance is at 0, 05%, t-test = 2,99 and t-table= 2,02, Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and Null Hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. It means that there was a significant difference between the student's pre-test and post-test scores. Thus, the writer concludes that the charades game on the student’s vocabulary affects.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate about the Effectiveness of Using Word Mapping Technique in Teaching Students Vocabulary at The First Grade Students of SMAN 8 Mataram in Academic Year 2014/2015. There were 79 students as sample. This study used quasi experimental non-equivalent research design. The data analysis showed the mean score of experimental group is higher than the mean score of control group. the use of word mapping technique is effective in teaching vocabulary. The deviation of the two mean scores (26.78/17.2) was also significant. It read that the value of t-test was 4.35 while the value of t-table was 2.000 on the level of significant 0.05 (95%) and 2.660 on the level significant 0.01 (99%). This figure indicated that the value of t-calculated was higher than t-value of t- table 4.35 > 2.000 and 2.660. The data indicated that t-test was higher than t-table, it means that the alternative hypothesis (H3) is accepted. Word maps technique maintain the students learning about words through mapping because helps them examine the characteristics of the word concepts, categorize words, and see relationships among words that are similar as well as those that may be different.

Abstract

This study aims at determining the effectiveness of using "Question Cards" in improving students speaking ability at class VII of SMP Muhammadiyah Mataram. This study is part of a pre-experimental study known as a pre-test and post-test group design, in which the sample is given a pre-test before treatment and a post-test after treatment. There was no control group in this investigation; instead, only one experimental group was used. This study takes a quantitative approach to its findings. The participants in this study were seventh-graders from Muhammadiyah Mataram Junior High School, who were divided into only one class of 16 pupils. Purposive sampling is the approach used. The use of the "Question Cards" strategy in increasing the speaking skills of SMP Muhammadiyah seventh grade students can be concluded as "successful" in this study. This is demonstrated by the students' pre-test and post-test scores, namely, the t-test score is 5.313, the consultation on the t- table at 99 percent points to 2.60, and it can be concluded that the comparison of t-test and t-table is 2.60 5.313, or in other words, the student's test results exceed the minimum standard of achievement.

Abstract

Dice games is a cube (often with corners slightly rounded), Marked on each of its six faces with a different number of circular patches or Pits called pips. Based on the purpose of this research to find out whether the use of Loaded Dice Game can increase or not the students’ Vocabulary mastery at the fourth-grade students of SDIT Anak Sholeh Mataram in the school year 2016/2017. In this research, the writer used quasi-experimental research (pre-test and post-test design) with the population was 111 of 4 classes, and the sample was 58 students by using cluster sampling. The writer took two classes as samples, they are Malik class as an experimental and Khuzaifah class as a control group. To collect the data, the writer used multiple choices items with 20 numbers items. The finding of this research from the value of t-test was 5.01 higher than the value of t-table in the significance level 95% (1.67) and at the confidence level 99% (2.39). The value of t-test is higher than t-table, it means that the hypothesis alternative (Ha) is accepted. So, the writer can conclude that the use of Loaded Dice game can increase the students’ vocabulary mastery at the fourth-grade students of SDIT Anak Sholeh Mataram in the school year 2016/2017.

In order that, the purpose of this study was to investigate the use of song as a media whether it is effective or not in teaching vocabulary. The total population of this study involved 92 students but the sample of by using the purposive technique sampling got 20 students in A class as a control and 20 students at B for experimental class. The instrument of this study used multiple choice tests which consist of 20 items. The data was collected by using pre-test and post-test, then followed by analyzing the data based on Arikunto’s theory using descriptive design. As well as the manual computation the result also showed that the score of the t-test was 4.741. The researcher compare that t-table at the degrees of freedom (df) (Nx + Ny)-2 . df = 20 + 20 – 2 = 38. The degree of freedom of 38 is at the competence interval of 0.05 (95%) is 2.024 and 0.01 (99%) is 2.711. the comparison is done between t-test formulated with t-table in which results is 4.741 it is to found that the t-table of “t” indicated: t-test 4.741 > t-table. It means that the mean score of the experimental class was higher than control class. So, the researcher concluded that the use of song “I Love You 3000” is effective in teaching learning English at Mining Department in academic year 2018/2019 and it means that the use of song as an alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted.

This study aims to investigate the effects of The use of blended learning techniques in teaching reading at the second-grade students of Man 2 Model Mataram In Academic Year 2017/2018. The purpose of the study is to know the effect of using Blended Learning technique in teaching reading at the second-grade student of Man 2 Model Mataram. The research method was quasi-experimental research with nonequivalent control group design. The population of the research was of the conducted of two classes as the sample; Experimental group (XI IS 2) and control group ( XI IS 1 ). XI IS 2 was taught by using Blended learning technique of reading while XI IS 1 was taught without Blended learning technique of reading. The researcher gave reading the test to gather the data. The formula that used to analyze the data was t-test. It is supposed to know the significant difference between students’ score in the experimental group and control group. Based on the computation of the t-test formula, it was found that the mean score of the experimental group was 14,21 and the mean score of the control group was 8,42 after analyzing the data,

Abstract

Learning English subject matter using Modal auxiliary verbs is felt difficult for students especially in creating simple sentences. Based on the results of the initial researchers' observations at SMPN 7 Mataram, English learning is still dominated by conventional learning. Therefore class VIII must be given an action in the form of more effectiveSpelling bee is a competition that asks students to spell the words as well as the sounds of a buzz. The Spelling bee is conducted orally, and it looks at contests of accuracy rather than speed. In this game, the pronouncer should allow students to ask for repetitions, sample sentences, the meaning of the word. The pronouncer has to give them the possible chance of spelling their words correctly. Regarding the definition, the researcher tries to conduct the spelling bee game in teaching vocabulary at the seventh-grade students of MTs Hidayatullah Mataram. The objective of the research is to investigate whether the use of spelling bee game has a positive effect on students' vocabulary or not, and the scope of the study only focuses on noun and verb. This research uses a quasi-experimental design and purposive technique sampling. The researcher takes two classes that are divided into an experimental and a control class. The population of the seventh-grade students consists of 50 students where the control class or VIIA consists of 25 students, and the experimental class or VIIB consists of 25 students. This research uses pre-test and post-test to collect the data. To analyze the data, the researcher uses SPSS program and manual computation in order to investigate whether the use of spelling bee game has a positive effect or not. Based on the result data  by using SPSS program shows that the mean score of the experimental class in pre-test is 50.84 which is classified as fairly score, and post-test is 80.96 is classified as Good score. The value of significance 2-tailed of Mann Whitney is 0.000 smaller than 0.05, it means that Ha is accepted. On the other hand, the manual computation shows that The value of t test = 2.800, df= 48, and t table for sig 0.05=1.677, and t table for sig 0.01= 2.406, it means that  t test is higher than t table.. Thus, the use of spelling bee game has a positive effect to the students' vocabulary at the seventh-grade students of MTs Hidayatullah Mataram in the academic year 2018/2019.
