Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of reading interest on the descriptive writing skills of fifth-grade students at MI Arrohmah Bekasi. The background of this research stems from the low writing skills of students, which are largely influenced by their lack of interest in reading. Reading plays an essential role in enriching vocabulary, broadening knowledge, and enhancing students’ imagination. With a higher interest in reading, students are expected to compose descriptive texts more comprehensively, clearly, and engagingly. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, specifically the Post-Test Only Control Group Design type. The population comprised all fifth-grade students of MI Arrohmah Bekasi totaling 110 students, and the sample consisted of 44 students selected through simple random sampling. The research instruments included a reading interest questionnaire and a descriptive writing skills test. The data analysis results revealed a positive and significant effect of reading interest on students’ descriptive writing skills. The hypothesis test using the t-test produced a t-value of 3.79, which is greater than the t-table value of 2.009 at a 0.05 significance level. These findings indicate that increasing reading interest contributes to improving students’ descriptive writing ability. This study recommends that teachers integrate reading literacy programs into Indonesian language learning as a strategy to enhance students’ writing skills.

Abstract

Literature as an art form that uses language as its medium of expression, has complex and profound dimensions. One important aspect in literary works is the style of language, which not only reflects the author's skill in arranging words, but also has a significant influence on the reader's aesthetic experience and interpretation of the text. Authors often use several types of language styles in writing a novel, one of which is figurative language. The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze the use of comparative figures of speech in the novel 12 Stories of Glen Anggara by Luluk HF and its implications for Indonesian Language Learning. This study also aims to understand the types of figures of speech that contribute to strengthening the characters, plot, and themes of the story. The approach used in this study is a qualitative descriptive approach to describe the problem and focus of the research, by collecting literature in the form of articles published through books, scientific journals both printed and online. The instrument used is a classification table of findings of comparative figures of speech in the novel 12 Stories of Glen Anggara by Luluk HF. Based on the research results, 100 comparative figures of speech were found in this novel, including allegory, simile, personification, hyperbole, metaphor, depersonification, and eponym.

Abstract

Pengamatan yang dilakukan peneliti dalam kolom komentar MK mengandung pro kontra atau positif negatif. Ketika foto atau video yang ditampilkan tidak sesuai dengan pemikiran atau keinginan, maka kolom komentar akan dipenuhi dengan komentar negatif. Peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dikarenakan tidak terdapat analisis maupun statistik pada pengumpulan data serta analisis dalam penelitian. Pada penelitian ini mengutamakan kegiatan pengamatan serta simak-catat dalam kolom komentar dalam setiap unggahan pada akun Instagram Mahkamah Konstitusi. Instagram Mahkamah Konstitusi saat ini menjadi pusat para pengguna media social terutama berkenaan dengan hasil sidang sengketa pilpres, pro kontra mewarnai kolom Instagram. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian bahwa yang paling dominan temuan peneliti yaitu majas perbadingan dan majas sindiran. Kedua majas ini dgunakan dalam mengomentari setiap unggahan dalam kolom instagram Mahkmah Konstitusi

Abstract

Perkembangan Bahasa anak selalu mengalami peningkatan dengan seiring bertambahnya waktu atau usia. Perkembangan bahasa ini dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor seperti faktor keluarga, lingkungan dan sebagainya. Anak akan mengamati setiap hal yang didengarkan sehingga perlahan meniru hingga mampu menghasilkan ujaran yang terangkai dengan baik. Sumber data penelitian ini berupa tuturan anak berusia 3 tahun bernama Bridgia. Bridgia dalam tuturan setiap hari menggunakan ilokusi. Ilokusi yang dominan yang digunakan yaitu ilokusi asertif , ilokusi direktif dan ilokusi ekspresif.

Abstract

This research is to find out how the use of the problem besad learning models affects the motivation to write argements at Indraprasta PGRI University students. The method use in the research is an experimental method with a research sampel of 40 students. Devided into two classes, namely experimental class with 20 students in a each class. The results of the research are that there is a significant influence of the use on the problem besad learning on the motivation to write argument at Indraprasta PGRI University students. This is besad on the hypothesis testing with a significance level 5%, obtained tcount> ttable (6,78 > 2,03), so H1 is this rejected and H1 is accepted. In this way, the hypothesis is the tested and significantly accepted. There for, it can be concluded that there is a influence of using the problem besad learning model on the student motivation tp write arguments and the average motivation to write argument using the problem besad learning model is 78 higher than that using the conventional learning model of 69.

Abstract

Literature serves not only as a source of entertainment but also as an effective medium for conveying moral messages to readers. The novel Dompet Ayah Sepatu Ibu by J.S. Khairen presents the story of characters struggling through life’s limitations, rich in humanitarian and spiritual values. This study aims to describe the moral values contained in the novel and examine their relevance to Indonesian language learning in schools. The approach used in this research is descriptive qualitative with content analysis as the primary method. Data were collected through in-depth reading of the novel, noting quotations that contain moral values, and categorizing them accordingly. The research instrument used was a moral value classification table that includes individual, social, and religious moral categories. The findings show that there are 100 instances of moral values in the novel, including optimism, responsibility, empathy, sacrifice, honesty, social care, prayer, gratitude, and faith. These values are reflected through the actions and dialogues of the main characters, as well as the settings and situations that represent social realities relevant to students' lives. The conclusion of this study states that the novel holds great potential as a literary resource in Indonesian language learning, particularly for instilling character values aligned with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum

Abstract

Literary works serve not only as entertainment but also as an effective medium for conveying moral messages to readers. Brian Khrisna's novel Sisi Tergelap Surga (The Darkest Side of Heaven) presents the story of characters struggling in the harshness of city life, with various inner conflicts and social issues that reflect the reality of lower-class society. This study aims to identify the moral values contained in the novel and explore their relationship to Indonesian language learning in schools. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with content analysis techniques. Data were collected through intensive reading of the novel text, recording quotations containing moral values, and then grouping them into three types of relationships: humans with themselves, humans with others, and humans with God. The research instrument was a moral value classification table. Based on the analysis, several values were found, such as empathy, responsibility, honesty, justice, determination, and sacrifice. These values are displayed through the attitudes, dialogues of the characters, and the story's setting, which clearly depicts social inequality. This study concludes that this novel has great potential to be used as teaching material in literature learning in Indonesian language classes, especially in efforts to instill character values in accordance with the spirit of the Independent Curriculum. Abstract

The success of education as a system in schools is determined by many factors, and one of them is teacher performance. It plays a strategic role in the overall education and learning process at school. Teacher performance is understood as the work performance and appearance of teachers in carrying out their profession professionally and effectively to produce quality graduates. Many factors can influence teacher performance in schools, two of which are educational supervision and strong motivation. The aim of this research is to describe the influence of principal supervision and motivation on teacher performance at MTS Muhammadiyah Garut. The research method used in this study is the survey method with correlational analysis. This means that data is collected with the help of questionnaires. In this study, the instrument used to gather data on the three variables being researched was a questionnaire. Based on the data analysis results, it is concluded that: 1) The results of the hypothesis test show that there is a significant positive relationship between the independent variables of school principal supervision (X1) and motivation (X2) and the dependent variable of teacher performance (Y) with a correlation coefficient of 0.874. The multiple regression relationship is linear with the equation model Y = -44.596 + 1.021 X1 + 0.606 X2; 2) The independent variables of school principal supervision (X1) and motivation (X2), both individually and together, make a significant contribution to the dependent variable of teacher performance (Y). The contribution of each independent variable to the dependent variable is as follows: school principal supervision variable is 67.8% and motivation variable is 48.8%. The contribution of both independent variables together to the dependent variable is 76.4%. Knowing that the contribution of school principal supervision (X1) and motivation (X2), 76.4%, to the performance of the teacher (Y), it can be concluded that 23.6% of the performance of the teacher is due to other factors
