Abstract

Cervical cancer is one of the major global health problems caused by Human Papillomavirus (HPV) infection. One of the most effective preventive measures is HPV vaccination. To support this effort, health education is needed to improve female students' understanding of the importance of HPV vaccination. This community service activity aimed to analyze the effect of animated video-based health education on improving the knowledge and attitudes of female junior high school students regarding HPV vaccination. Health education was delivered using animated videos, and participants' knowledge and attitudes were assessed before and after the intervention. The activity involved 92 female junior high school students in grades 7–9 in South Jakarta and was conducted in January 2026. Univariate analysis was performed based on the total knowledge and attitude scores, while bivariate analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon test to assess differences before and after the intervention. The mean knowledge score before the intervention was 13.72 (SD = 3.106; median = 14.00), which increased to 17.05 (SD = 2.333) after the intervention. The mean attitude score increased from 44.43 (SD = 5.474) to 49.64 (SD = 5.980). The Wilcoxon test showed a statistically significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores (p = 0.001) for both knowledge and attitudes. Animated video-based health education was proven to be effective in improving knowledge and attitudes toward HPV vaccination and can be used as an alternative educational medium.

Abstract

Menopause is a natural phase in a woman's life marked by the cessation of ovarian function and hormonal changes in estrogen and progesterone, often accompanied by physical and psychological symptoms such as anxiety, stress, and depression. One possible way to deal with these changes is to practice mindfulness, especially Islamic mindfulness, which is in line with Islamic values. This study aims to examine the correlation between Islamic mindfulness and levels of anxiety, stress, and depression among menopausal women. This study employed a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 82 menopausal women selected using accidental sampling. The Islamic Mindfulness Questionnaire-16 was used to measure Islamic mindfulness, and the DASS-21 questionnaires were used to measure depression, anxiety, and stress. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analyses with the Spearman rank correlation test. The results indicated that the women were aged 45–59 years, with a mean age of 54 years. Most respondents had been menopausal for 3–4 years and were married (52.4%). The average Islamic mindfulness score was 37 points. Respondents experienced very severe anxiety (12.2%), very severe stress (18.3%), and very severe depression (8.5%). There was a weak but significant negative correlation between Islamic mindfulness and stress (r = -0.244; p = 0.027) and between Islamic mindfulness and depression (r = -0.327; p = 0.003). While there is a very weak and non- significant negative correlation between Islamic mindfulness and anxiety (r = -0.156; p = 0.151). Higher levels of Islamic mindfulness were associated with lower levels of stress and depression. We recommended that menopausal women enhance Islamic mindfulness to reduce stress and depression.

Abstract

Obesity in school-age children is an increasing health problem that has a long-term impact on children's physical and mental conditions. One effective prevention strategy is through early health education in the school environment. This community service activity aims to increase elementary school students' knowledge about obesity prevention through interactive and fun health education. The activity was carried out at SDN 02 Pamulang, South Tangerang, involving 140 5th grade students, four lecturers, and 14 nursing students. The methods used included anthropometric measurements (height and weight), educational game “Isi Piringku”, counseling using poster media, as well as pre-test and post-test. The results of the activity showed an increase in students' enthusiasm and knowledge of the importance of balanced nutrition and physical activity as an effort to prevent obesity. This activity also received full support from the school and teachers. As a follow-up, monitoring student health through the School Health Unit (UKS) is recommended to be carried out regularly to maintain the results that have been achieved. Strengthening the role of schools as an educational environment in the promotion of healthy lifestyles is key in efforts to prevent obesity from an early age.
