Abstract

This study aims to quantitatively analyze the household economic protection needs and their relationship with the development of Islamic insurance in Singkuang Village, Muara Batang Gadis District, Mandailing Natal Regency. Households in rural areas face high economic vulnerability due to unstable income, large family dependents, as well as health and occupational accident risks, while insurance ownership rates remain low. Islamic insurance serves as an alternative financial protection based on the principle of mutual assistance (ta'awun) and is free from usury (riba), uncertainty (gharar), and gambling (maisir). This study employs a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. A sample of 96 households was taken using simple random sampling from a population of 1,500 households. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire using a 1-5 Likert scale, which had been tested for validity and reliability (Cronbach's Alpha 0.762). Data analysis included descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests (normality, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity), and multiple linear regression analysis with t-test and F-test. This study concludes that economic protection needs, understanding of Islamic insurance, and community interest have a positive effect on the development of Islamic insurance. It is recommended that Islamic insurance institutions enhance education and socialization, local governments support sharia financial literacy programs, and insurance products be tailored to the economic conditions of rural communities. Abstract

The present research endeavors to scrutinize the impact of Electronic Word of Mouth (E-WOM), spatial accessibility, and infrastructural amenities on tourists' behavioral intention to visit the maritime destination of Pulau Banyak, Aceh Singkil. This investigation is driven by empirical phenomena regarding suboptimal digital marketing orchestration, restricted geographical reachability, and the development of local support facilities. Employing a quantitative framework, this study utilized a survey technique involving 100 respondents with prior visitation experience. Data analysis was conducted using the Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach through SmartPLS 4.1. Empirical outcomes elucidate that E-WOM, logistical connectivity, and physical amenities simultaneously exert a positive and significant influence on visitors' destination choice. These findings formulate strategic imperatives for tourism authorities to intensify digital advocacy campaigns, improve transportation access, and optimize ancillary services to sustainably augment future tourist influx. Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of financial technology, financial self-efficacy, and a hedonistic lifestyle on personal financial management among Generation Z in Medan City. Generation Z, as digital natives, are highly exposed to technological conveniences that often encourage impulsive consumption and hedonistic tendencies. The rapid growth of financial technology (fintech) has transformed the way individuals manage their finances, creating both opportunities for efficiency and risks of excessive spending. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from 100 respondents representing Generation Z through questionnaires distributed online. The collected data were analyzed using multiple linear regression techniques with SPSS. The results show that financial technology, financial self-efficacy, and a hedonistic lifestyle each have a positive and significant effect on personal financial management, both partially and simultaneously. Among these, financial technology has the strongest influence, followed by financial self-efficacy and hedonistic lifestyle. The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.761 indicates that 76.1% of the variation in personal financial management can be explained by the three independent variables. These findings highlight that while technological advances enhance financial accessibility, strong self-efficacy and awareness are essential to maintain responsible financial behavior amid hedonistic lifestyle pressures.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of investment in economic development policies in the tourism sector in Deli Serdang Regency and its empowerment towards regional economic growth from an Islamic economic perspective. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive analytical approach utilizing secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the Tourism Office, and the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office (DPMPTSP) of Deli Serdang Regency for the 2015–2024 period. The results show that tourism investment contributes positively to increasing Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), creating jobs, and strengthening the creative economy of local communities. Programs such as the Kamu Market in Denai Lama Village and the development of Sibolangit nature tourism are examples of the successful synergy between investment policies and community economic empowerment. However, the effectiveness of the policy still faces obstacles in the aspects of inter-agency coordination, equitable distribution of investment between regions, and limited human resource capacity. From an Islamic economic perspective, tourism investment must be based on the principles of maslahah, 'adl (justice), and tawazun (balance) so that economic development does not only focus on material growth, but also ensures social welfare and environmental sustainability. The concept of khalifah fil ardh (vicegerent) emphasizes humanity's responsibility as stewards of the earth to ensure sustainable and ethical investments. Therefore, investment policy strategies in the tourism sector need to be directed at strengthening sustainable tourism investments based on Islamic values to create inclusive, equitable, and environmentally just economic growth
