Abstract

The use of academic vocabulary is very important to increase the writing skills and quality of the academic writing of the students. Therefore, Thesaurus software needs to be developed that contains about the academic vocabulary that help the student’s writing and increase the quality of their academic writing, and to reduce the plagiarism. The purposes of the research are; (1) to develop of German language vocabulary with a Thesaurus software that increase the quality of academic writing in German (2) to see the effectiveness of German language vocabulary with a Thesaurus software in increasing the quality of academic writing. The special purpose of the research is increasing the quality of student’s academic writing from German Language Department at the Universitas Negeri Medan with the use of Thesaurus software for German language vocabulary. The method used is the ADDIE Model with five phases: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. The data is taken from the academic writing of the students of German Language Department and the books that used in the Wissenschaftliches Schreiben’s (Academic Writing) course and then developed into the German Language academic vocabulary Thesaurus software.

Abstract

Perbaikan pembelajaran berkelanjutan diperlukan guru yang dapat dilakukan melalui publikasi hasil penelitian. Kenyataan menunjukkan bahwa guru masih sedikit menulis artikel hasil penelitian disebabkan oleh kurangnya pengalaman menulis artikel ilmiah. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan ini maka Universitas Negeri Medan melakukan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kompetensi guru menulis artikel ilmiah melalui pengubahan hasil penelitian menjadi artikel ilmiah standar yang siap dikirimkan ke Jurnal Ilmiah. Kegiatan dilakukan melibatkan 83 guru dari 23 kabupaten dan Kota mitra kerjasama. Tahapan yang dilakukan meliputi (1) mengidentifikasi kebutuhan guru menulis artikel ilmiah, (2) Mempersiapkan materi pelatihan sesuai kharakteristik guru, (3) Melatihan dan mendampingi guru mengubah laporan penelitian tindakan kelas menjadi artikel, dan (4) Mengukur  kompetensi guru menyelesaikan draft artikel. Kegiatan pengabdian telah dilakukan dengan baik secara online agar dapat menjangkau  Guru di berbagai wilayah Sumatra Utara. Tahap awal adalah pembekalan dan pengayaan teori menulis artikel melalui penyampaian tujuh paket modul pelatihan. Tahap lanjutan adalah pendampingan menyelesaikan draft artikel selama satu bulan sesuai kemampuan dan motivasi peserta. Sebanyak 83 guru menyelesaikan pelatihan awal, sebanyak 49 guru melanjutkan pendampingan, 9 guru menyelesaikan draft artikel, dan 5 judul artikel sudah submit di Jurnal ilmiah.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis kosakata bahasa Jerman dalam film animasi “Die Fantastische Welt von Gumball” pada episode “Das Spiel”. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa kata, teks dan kalimat dari film animasi “Die Fantastische Welt von Gumball”. Sumber data penelitian ini berasal dari film animasi “Die Fantastische Welt von Gumball” pada episode “Das Spiel”. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Universitas Negeri Medan, lebih tepatnya di Laboratorium Bahasa Asing Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jenis kosakata yang dominan adalah kata kerja (37%) dan kata benda (28%), dengan sebagian besar kosakata berada pada level A1 (77%), yang mencerminkan kesederhanaan dan relevansi kosakata untuk pemula. Penilaian materi adalah 93,35 poin, yang menunjukkan bahwa konten film animasi ini dapat digunakan dengan sangat baik sebagai media pembelajaran bahasa Jerman.

Abstract

Sprachbeherrschung is a study subject in the German Language education department in the faculty of language and art, Universitas Negeri Medan, which teaches four language skills completed by cross culture and social behavior. Therefore, the present study aims to develop teaching material for the subject of Sparachbeherrschung based on outcome. This development research is a qualitative descriptive study. The teaching material was develop based on semester teaching plan arranged in accordance with outcome-based learning principle. The development model used was Thiagarajan model consisted of four steps, i.e. defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. The presented report only consisted three out of four steps, in which disseminating was excluded. Defining step is the step of formulating the idea through need analysis. The designing step is the step of mapping the graduate learning outcome to the subject learning outcome which is associated to the result of need analysis. The developing step was carried out through the activity of material development and expert validation. The experts were three individuals with expertise in material development. the instrument used was validated.  Instrument used was in form of questionnaire refers to likert scale. The result of expert validation indicate that the teaching material was suitable for use, with an average score of 90,0.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis aplikasi Nearpod untuk mata pelajaran tata bahasa Jerman tingkat A1, khususnya pada materi modalverben. Media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan dirancang untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap tata bahasa melalui metode pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif dan menarik. Proses pengembangan menggunakan model Richey dan Klein yang meliputi tiga tahapan utama, yaitu perencanaan, produksi, dan evaluasi. Pada tahap perencanaan, dilakukan analisis kebutuhan berdasarkan survei dan wawancara dengan siswa dan dosen bahasa Jerman. Tahap produksi mencakup pembuatan media pembelajaran interaktif yang berisi materi tata bahasa, kuis, dan latihan yang disusun menggunakan aplikasi Nearpod. Siswa dapat mengakses materi secara mandiri atau dengan bimbingan guru melalui perangkat digital seperti laptop atau smartphone. Tahap evaluasi dilakukan oleh ahli materi dan media untuk menilai kualitas dan keefektifan media pembelajaran. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa media ini dapat meningkatkan minat dan motivasi siswa dalam mempelajari tata bahasa Jerman. Nearpod dinilai sebagai platform yang efektif dalam menghadirkan pengalaman belajar yang interaktif, karena menyediakan berbagai fitur seperti video, kuis, dan aktivitas kolaboratif. Dengan pengembangan media pembelajaran berbasis Nearpod, diharapkan siswa dapat lebih mudah memahami tata bahasa Jerman, khususnya modalverben, serta memiliki pengalaman belajar yang lebih menyenangkan. Penelitian ini juga memberikan kontribusi terhadap penggunaan teknologi dalam pembelajaran bahasa asing di tingkat A1.

Abstract

This study aims to create a digital comic from the folk tale "Putri Tujuh". This study uses the creation method. The creation process consists of an explanation of the phases of Richey and Klein's theory. Among them are (1) planning, (2) making, (3) evaluation. The data for this study are sentences in the folk tale "Putri Tujuh". The source of the research data is a book entitled "Cerita Rakyat dari Riau" by BM Syamsuddin published by Grasindo and Gramedia publishers with ISBN numbers 9789795532569 and 9795532561. The results of this study are in the form of a digital comic "Putri Tujuh" in German. This comic consists of several pages. The evaluation results show that the digital comic has an overall score of 90 (very good).

Abstract

This study discusses the development of animated videos as a learning medium for A1 speaking. This study focuses on making animated videos. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection through online questionnaires and direct interviews. This study is a study that uses the 4D model. This research model consists of 4 steps, namely: 1) Define, 2) Design, 3) Develop, 4) Disseminate. The result of this study is an animated video with German subtitles. This video is 6:49 minutes long and in MP4 format. This video has been validated by media experts with a score of 93.75.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to develop a corpus method specifically for learning and teaching German for B1 level grammar courses for German students. This research uses a corpus-based development method by Scherer [9] with several phases, namely: collecting corpus data, inputting data in the corpus tool, reading data in the corpus tool, validation of data and using the corpus for teaching of German grammar (Grammatik). Grammatik is the knowledge of grammar or the rules used in writing and speaking German. This field has many rules and German students, especially in the German Language Education Study Program, Faculty of Languages ​​and Arts, Universitas Negeri Medan, often face difficulties in the process of understanding grammar, so a method is needed, namely the Corpus method, to study German grammar.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the difficulties faced by class C 2023 students of the German Language Study Program, State University of Medan, in learning Germany using web-based learning media for the A1 Grammar course. This paper is a literature study that uses a quantitative descriptive method with the theory of Richey and Klein 2009. The data of this research is in the form of material taken from the book "Textbook for Learning Germany Grammar" by Ahmad Sahat Pardamean, Tanti Kurnia Sari and Siti Kudriyah (2018), the Germany grammar exercise book by Dreyer and Schmitt (2019) and the Grundstufen-Grammatic book by Monika Reimann (2010). This research was conducted in the language laboratory of the Department of Foreign Languages, State University of Medan. The results of the study show that web-based learning media for Grammatics A1 courses with preposition topics with accusation can be used by teachers and students when learning Germany.
