Abstract

Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) is a critical predictor of future stroke, yet it is frequently underrecognized due to its transient and often mild neurological manifestations. This literature review aims to synthesize clinical and technological approaches for early screening and detection of TIA, emphasizing strategies aligned with timely intervention and stroke prevention. A systematic search was conducted across PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar, identifying 94 articles. Following PRISMA guidelines, 10 studies were selected based on inclusion criteria related to early detection, emergency response, and digital health interventions. The analysis yielded three major themes: (1) the clinical relevance of early recognition of subtle neurological symptoms, (2) the role of emergency medical services and prehospital screening tools, and (3) the emergence of mobile health (mHealth) and telemedicine platforms in supporting early TIA detection. Findings indicate that while TIA symptoms are transient, they signal a significant risk of subsequent stroke, underscoring the need for prompt and accurate assessment. Technological innovations such as mobile applications and teleconsultation enhance traditional diagnostic methods but face challenges in implementation, including disparities in digital access and limited public awareness. In conclusion, integrating clinical vigilance with scalable technological solutions holds promise for improving early TIA detection, particularly in resource limited or remote settings. It is recommended that health systems invest in training emergency responders and adopt validated digital tools into prehospital protocols. Future research should focus on clinical validation and real-world integration of mHealth platforms to support global stroke prevention efforts.

Abstract

Introduction: : Cardiac arrest is a sudden cessation of ineffective pumping. Cardio-pulmonal-resuscitation (CPR) applied to save the life among those with cardiac arrest. During the pandemic COVID-19 patients, cardiac arrest was found as the major causes of death Even cardio-pulmonal-resuscitation (CPR) applied to save the life, a few of them was survived. The purpose of this review is to determine the quality of life in COVID-19 patients with CPR post cardiac arrest. Method: The paper research was reviewed regarding their inclusion criteria and quality assessment using the Joana Briggs Institute's critical appraisal checklist. Three academic databases; PubMed, Springerlink, and Science direct were comprehensively applied to collect the published article from 2017 to 2020. They are Articles were selected by PRISMA 2020 flow diagram for systematic review. Results: A total 10 studies were yielded in the final analysis. Factor affecting successful CPR in COVID-19 patient post cardiac arrest were; duration of CPR was delivered between six to 20 minutes. In comparison to the situation before thepandemic COVID-19, less neurological function improvement was signed of lowering quality of life of CPR patients with COVID-19. Conclusion: This study highlighted the quality of life in COVID-19 patients with cardiac arrest and conducted CPR was poorer compared to those before the pandemic. Findings considered COVID-19 placed cardiac arrest survivor in a higher risk of morbidity and mortality. Future study determines factors associated with higher probabilities of surviving after CPR delivered among patient with COVID-19 post cardiac is highly recommended.

Abstract

Introduction: Sleep disturbances are strongly associated with poor blood pressure control and can worsen the clinical outcomes of hypertensive patients. This study aimed to analyze the application of the Indonesian Nursing Diagnosis Standards (Standar Diagnosis Keperawatan Indonesia or SDKI) in identifying Sleep Pattern Disturbance among hypertensive patients as documented by nursing students. Methods: This descriptive retrospective study utilized secondary data from 169 final year nursing student report’s archived from the year 2023 to 2024. Data were derived from Diploma Nursing Program (D-III), Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Jember, Indonesia. Data were extracted and analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results: The results showed that all nine cases involved patients over 50 years of age, predominantly women (8 out of 9). The most frequent symptoms recorded were difficulty initiating or maintaining sleep (100%), non-restorative sleep (78%), changes in sleep pattern (78%), frequent awakenings (56%), and feeling unrested (56%). Poor sleep control was the primary contributing factor (78%), followed by environmental factors such as noise and unpleasant odors (11% each). All reports consistently documented Sleep Pattern Disturbance as the sole nursing diagnosis using SDKI. Conclusions: Nursing students have begun to apply standardized terminology; however, the limited range of diagnoses and contributing factors suggests a need to strengthen supervision, comprehensive assessment, and diagnostic reasoning skills in nursing education. Future studies with larger samples and primary data are recommended to explore further the integration of SDKI with interventions (SIKI) and outcomes (SLKI).

Abstract

Identification of threats, vulnerabilities and ability of farmers in integrated nursing care-based emergency nursing in Lumajang District results in emergency risk results are still high and the ability of integrated farmers emergency response is still low. Management for integrated emergency risk reduction for farmers is needed by enhancing the capacity of farmers and reducing threats and vulnerabilities in agricultural areas. The purpose of this study is to improve the ability of farmers to provide basic life support (BLS) due to hazardous materials to farmers in Lumajang Regency. This study used a pre-post-test design method. Participants in this study were 30 participants who were selected by random sampling. Data analysis was performed using SPSS and hypothesis testing using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with statistical test results p-value = 0,000 (α less than 0.05). This can show that there is a significant capacity improvement after conducting basic life support training due to hazardous materials to farmers.
