Abstract

This study aims to analyze consumer behavior in monopolistic markets in the 3T (Underdeveloped and Transmigration) region, focusing on the traditional market in Wamena City, Jayawijaya Regency. A qualitative approach was used, through in-depth interviews and participant observation with 30 consumers. The results indicate that three main factors influence consumer purchasing decisions: price, product quality, and social interaction. Price is the dominant factor, with consumers actively comparing prices across vendors to obtain the best value. Product quality also contributes to consumer loyalty, especially when the product is proven to be satisfactory and consistent. Furthermore, the social interactions between consumers and vendors in the warm atmosphere of the traditional market contribute to increased comfort and emotional attachment among consumers. These three factors are interrelated in shaping purchasing decisions, and understanding these dynamics is crucial for both vendors and local governments in designing effective marketing strategies and local economic development in the 3T (Underdeveloped and Transmigration) region.

Abstract

Transforming the branding of Papua’s MSMEs through digital marketing training and Canva-based product label design   Abstract: Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Walelagama District, Highland Papua, face challenges in developing product branding and marketing, as most products are still sold in plain packaging without labels or brand identities. This condition limits product recognition and reduces repurchase potential. This community service program aims to enhance the capacity of MSME actors in digital marketing through Instagram and product label design using Canva. The implementation method consisted of three stages: planning, training implementation, and evaluation. The training activities combined socialization sessions, demonstrations, and hands-on practice. The results indicate a significant improvement in participants’ understanding—from 22% before training to 94% afterward. Furthermore, most participants successfully created simple product labels and promoted their products online. Supporting factors included participants’ enthusiasm and active involvement, while the main obstacle was limited internet connectivity. Overall, this program contributed positively to the branding transformation and digital competitiveness of local MSMEs in the highlands of Papua.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to enhance financial management literacy and the adoption of financial technology (fintech) among the Mama Papua Suara Hati Ibu noken craftsman group in the Baliem Valley, Jayawijaya. The main problems faced by partners are traditional financial record keeping, limited access to formal financial services, and low understanding of fintech applications. The implementation method is socialization, training, mentoring, and evaluation through pre-test and post-test. The results of the activity show a significant increase in knowledge and skills of partners in managing finances in a structured manner by utilizing the Qasir application as a digital recording medium, namely 60% where initially only 3 people understood financial technology, after the training, the number increased to 28 people. Supporting factors for this community service activity were the active role of all participants during the implementation, the partners' openness to problems faced, and the existence of clear duties and functions for partners, so that it was easy to coordinate the course of the training, as well as the support of the tribal chief regarding security during the activity. However, there were several obstacles during the implementation, including limited access to electricity, unstable internet, and tribal war during the activity, that required rescheduling and adding training time. The hope is that this activity will foster digital financial management literacy among partners, promote economic independence, and serve as a model for sustainable technology-based MSME empowerment in underserved and underserved regions (3T). Abstract

This study aims to analyze how Indonesian policymakers make decisions regarding the expansion of DOBs in Papua, with a focus on public narratives in the media. To see the public narrative, a Narrative Policy Framework (NPF) study will be conducted which can describe, explain the structure of public narratives in policy making. The research method uses a qualitative approach with the support of QDAS (Qualitative Data Analysis Software), and the research data sources come from trusted online media in Indonesia. The results showed that the conversation about DOB expansion in Papua was dominated by the central and local governments. This indicates that the DOB expansion policy in Papua is dominated by political elites, so it has the potential to cause conflict because it is not in accordance with the aspirations of the community. The expansion process also has the potential to trigger conflicts between the expanded regions, especially if the distribution of resources and power is not fair and transparent. The implication is that active community participation in decision-making on regional expansion is important so that policies reflect the aspirations and real needs of the Papuan people and reduce the dominance of political elites.

Abstract

Una'im Yapis Wamena, as one of the higher education institutions in Papua, has a number of lecturers with various research activities. However, the challenge faced is the difficulty of comprehensively identifying the patterns and characteristics of faculty research. Without proper analysis, it is difficult for the institution to determine the research productivity profile of faculty members, identify those who require mentoring, or determine the focus of research capacity development. This can result in suboptimal allocation of resources, research support, and research development planning within the institution. This study aims to help determine the level of productivity of lecturers in research with high, medium, and low categories. With this grouping, it is hoped that the Una'im Yapis Wamena Campus can more easily make decisions about the appropriate coaching methods to improve the research results of lecturers. The method used in this study is K-means Clustering. The data analyzed included 45 lecturers with variables such as number of publications, number of citations, H-index, funded research, and research collaboration. The results of this study show that the level of faculty research productivity can be grouped into three categories, namely: Cluster 1 (High Productivity) consisting of 8 faculty members, Cluster 2 (Medium Productivity) consisting of 25 faculty members, and Cluster 3 (Low Productivity) consisting of 12 faculty members. The clustering process reached convergence in the 6th iteration with stable results. These clustering results can serve as a guide for Una'im Yapis Wamena in determining policies to increase lecturer research productivity in the future.
