Abstract

This study aims to investigate: (1) The feasibility of biodiversity module based on Socioscientific issues and local potential according to the expert of material and the expert of media; (2) The students learning outcomes or achievements after using the biodiversity module based on Socioscientific issues and local potential. The method used in this study is a research and development (R & D) method with Hannafin and Peck's model. The subject of this study is the third-semester students of Mathematics Education Department of IKIP PGRI Pontianak who take the General Biology lesson in the academic year 2018/2019 that consist of one class, namely Class A Afternoon. The technique of collecting data used in this study is an indirect communication technique with the data collection tool in the form of a validation questionnaire and a test to gain the data of students learning achievement. The result of this study are: (1) The biodiversity module based on Socioscientific issues and local potential that is developed and worthy to be used with the indexed percentage of 75.91%; (2) Students learning achievement after using the biodiversity module based on Socioscientific issues and local potential that is developed is increasing with the normalized gain value of 0.6 that belongs to the medium category.

Abstract

Penelitian yang dilakukan didasari oleh belum adanya LKS Berbasis Pendekatan Saintifik pada materi Pengukuran di SMP YPK Pontianak. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan LKS Berbasis Pendekatan Saintifik pada materi Pengukuran di SMP YPK Pontianak. Secara khusus penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan, respon siswa dan hasil belajar setelah menggunakan LKS Berbasis Pendekatan Saintifik pada materi Pengukuran di SMP YPK Pontianak. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode penelitian dan pengembangan (RD) dengan menggunakan model 4-D (FourD Models) yang terdiri dari empat tahap, yaitu tahap pendefinisian (define), tahap perancangan (design), tahap pengembangan (develop), dan tahap pendeseminasian (disseminate). Instrument yang digunakan yaitu instrument berupa angket validasi menggunakan skala likert dengan rentang skor 1-4 dan nilai rata-rata siswa. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diketahui bahwa LKS Berbasis Pendekatan Saintifik pada materi Pengukuran di SMP YPK Pontianak memiliki hasil validasi untuk ahli materi dengan skor rata-rata 91,67% dan validasi ahli media dengan skor rata-rata 86% dengan kategori sangat layak. Respon siswa memiliki skor 84% dengan kategori sangat baik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besarkah pengaruh model pembelajaran berbasis masalah terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi hubungan roda-roda di kelas X MIA 2 SMA Negeri Bunguran Timur Laut. Metode penelitian menggunakan yaitu metode Pre-eksperimental Design dengan bentuk penelitian yaitu One Group Pretest-Posttest Only Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu seluruh siswa kelas X MIA SMA Negeri 1 Bunguran Timur Laut yang terdiri dari 2 kelas. Sampel dalam penelitian yaitu siswa kelas X MIA 2 SMA Negeri 1 Bunguran Timur Laut yang diambil dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu tes berbetuk soal essay. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa : terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar siswa sebelum dan sesudah diajarkan menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah pada materi hubungan roda-roda di kelas X MIA 2 SMA Negeri 1 Bunguran Timur Laut dengan uji t related sample diperoleh thitung = 3,18 dan ttabel = 2,01, serta model pembelajaran berbasis masalah berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi hubungan roda-roda di kelas X MIA 2 SMA Negeri 1 Bunguran Timur Laut yaitu sebesar 1,51 dengan kriteria tinggi

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas praktik kerja secara online dan offline ditinjau dari aktivitas belajar dan keterampilan psikomotorik mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain faktorial 2x2x2 pada mahasiswa semester tiga program studi Pendidikan Biologi IKIP PGRI Pontianak Tahun Ajaran 2019/2020. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 35 orang yang mengikuti praktik kerja offline dan 25 orang yang mengikuti praktik kerja secara online yang dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik sampling jenuh. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan teknik tes dan teknik non tes. Uji hipotesis yang digunakan adalah uji Anova tiga jalur dengan sel tak sama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata kelas offline lebih tinggi yaitu 76,60 dibandingkan dengan kelas online yaitu 67,50. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan: 1) terdapat pengaruh praktik kerja secara online/ offline terhadap hasil belajar mahasiswa; 2) tidak terdapat pengaruh keterampilan psikomotorik terhadap hasil belajar mahasiswa; 3) terdapat pengaruh aktivitas belajar terhadap hasil belajar mahasiswa; 4) terdapat interaksi antara praktik kerja dan aktivitas belajar terhadap hasil belajar mahasiswa; 5) terdapat interaksi praktik kerja dan keterampilan psikomotorik terhadap hasil belajar mahasiswa; 6) terdapat interaksi antara aktivitas belajar mahasiswa dan keterampilan psikomotorik terhadap hasil belajar mahasiswa; 7) terdapat interaksi praktik kerja, aktivitas belajar dan keterampilan psikomotorik terhadap hasil belajar mahasiswa. Biology Work Practice in the New Normal Period in terms of Psychomotor Activities and Skills Abstract: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of online and offline work practices in terms of learning activities and student psychomotor skills. This study uses a 2x2x2 factorial design for third semester students of the Biology Education study program, IKIP PGRI Pontianak, for the 2019/2020 academic year. The sample in this study were 35 people who took part in offline work practices and 25 people who participated in online work practices who were selected using the saturated sampling technique. Data were collected using test techniques and non-test techniques. The hypothesis test used is the three-way Anova test with unequal cells. The results showed that the average score for the offline class was 76.60 higher than the online class, which was 67.50. The results of hypothesis testing show: 1) there is an effect of online/offline work practices on student learning outcomes; 2) there is no influence of psychomotor skills on student learning outcomes; 3) there is an influence of learning activities on student learning outcomes; 4) there is an interaction between work practices and learning activities on student learning outcomes; 5) there is an interaction between work practices and psychomotor skills on student learning outcomes; 6) there is an interaction between student learning activities and psychomotor skills on student learning outcomes; 7) there are interactions between work practices, learning activities and psychomotor skills on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah memperoleh kejelasan yang objektif dan jelas mengenai untuk mengetahui pembelajaran fisika menggunakan model pembelajaran inkuiri terhadap keterampilan proses sains siswa pada materi dinamika partikel di kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Jongkong. Adapun tujuan khusus sebagai berikut: 1) Untuk mengetahui keterampilan proses sains siswa setelah diterapkan model pembelajaran konvesional pada materi dinamika partikel siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Jongkong. 2) Untuk mengetahui keterampilan proses sains siswa setelah di terapkan model pembelajaran inkuiri pada materi dinamika partikel siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Jongkong. 3) Untuk mengetahui adakah perbedaan keterampilan proses sains siswa yang diajarkan mengggunakan model pembelajaran konvesional dan siswa yang di ajarkan menggunakan model pembelajaran inkuiri pada materi dinamika partikel siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Jongkong. 4) Untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh model pembelajaran inkuiri terhadap keterampilan proses sains siswa pada materi dinamika partikel siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Jongkong. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen dengan bentuk penelitian Quasi eksperimental Design dan rancangan penelitian Nonequi valent Groups Posttest-Only. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Jongkong yang terdiri dari tiga kelas. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan cluster random sampling sehingga diperoleh dua kelas yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik pengukuran data dengan tes essay. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis diperoleh Keterampilan proses sains siswa setelah diterapkan model pembelajaran inquiry pada materi dinamika partikel siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Jongkong tergolong baik yaitu sebesar 69,12 sedangkan kelas kontrol sebesar 58,04. Sehingga Ha diterima dan hasil perhitungan effect size untuk model pembelajaran inkuiri terhadap keterampilan proses sains siswa pada materi dinamika partikel siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Jongkong yaitu 1,426 tergolong tinggi.

Abstract

Indonesia's SDGs Roadmap 2030 underlines the importance of improving critical thinking skills to achieve sustainable development goals. Students still experience difficulties in developing critical thinking in biology learning. Conventional models are often considered less effective while complex problem-based learning models can be cognitively burdensome for novice learners. Another factor contributing to this problem is the lack of opportunities for students to apply their knowledge in real situations and solve complex problems. This research aims to develop and test the effectiveness of the ReCLif model as a simple and more effective alternative to problem-based learning for beginner learners. The ReCLif model is designed to provide challenges appropriate to the cognitive level of novice learners. This research uses research and development methods from Plomp and Nieveen as well as an experimental design to compare the ReCLif model with a control group. The research results show that the development of the ReCLif model learning syntax is an integration of complex thinking teaching and learning strategies with 3C3R design problems and 4C/ID instructional design with three learning stages (1) exploring real life; (2) using complex thinking skills; and (3) creating solutions for life situations. The results of the quade rank analysis of covariance test, obtained a Sig value. (0.000) <0.05 (?), then H0 is rejected and the research hypothesis is accepted. This means that there are significant differences in critical thinking skills in students between classes given learning using the ReCLif model, CTL model and TPS model. The results of the Bonferroni Dunn test show that the corrected mean value for the ReCLif model is 80.46, the TPS model is 71.27 and the CTL model is 70.57. It can be concluded that there is a significant difference in the mean value of critical thinking skills between the ReCLif learning model and the CTL and TPS models.

Abstract

Mapping of research trends, collaborations, and developments in the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in biology education is still inadequate and has not been systematically explored. Evidence-based insight investigations that can guide future research and provide guidance on effective AI integration strategies in biology education are needed. Biology learning, which involves abstract concepts and complex data, is expected to be integrated with AI to support the innovation of interactive learning tools, improve critical thinking skills, and enrich the learning experience. This research aims to analyze the role of AI in improving the quality of biology education through a bibliometric approach. This research uses data from Scopus with the keywords “artificial AND intelligence AND biology AND education,” which includes 302 publications from 2000 to 2025. The analysis was conducted using Bibliometrix and Biblioshiny on the RStudioVR platform. The results show a significant upward trend in publications, especially after 2018, with a peak in 2023. The United States and China are the main contributors to these publications, with scientific articles (40.9%) and conference papers (25.1%) as the most dominant document types. In addition, Lecture Notes in Computer Science emerged as the most relevant source, demonstrating the important role of computer science in the development of AI for biology education. The findings are expected to provide strategic insights for more effective AI implementation in the future.Abstrak. Pemetaan mengenai tren penelitian, kolaborasi, dan perkembangan dalam penerapan kecerdasan buatan (AI) di bidang pendidikan biologi masih belum memadai dan belum dieksplorasi secara sistematis. Penyelidikan wawasan berbasis bukti yang dapat mengarahkan penelitian masa depan dan memberikan panduan strategi integrasi AI yang efektif dalam pendidikan biologi diperlukan. Pembelajaran biologi yang melibatkan konsep-konsep abstrak dan data kompleks diharapkan dapat diintegrasikan dengan AI untuk mendukung inovasi alat bantu pembelajaran yang interaktif, meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis, dan memperkaya pengalaman belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran AI dalam meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan biologi melalui pendekatan bibliometrik. Penelitian ini menggunakan data dari Scopus dengan kata kunci “artificial AND intelligence AND biology AND education” yang mencakup 302 publikasi dari tahun 2000 hingga 2025. Analisis dilakukan menggunakan Bibliometrix dan Biblioshiny pada platform RStudioVR. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya tren peningkatan signifikan dalam publikasi, terutama setelah 2018, dengan puncak pada 2023. Amerika Serikat dan China menjadi kontributor utama dalam publikasi ini, dengan artikel ilmiah (40,9%) dan makalah konferensi (25,1%) sebagai jenis dokumen yang paling dominan. Selain itu, Lecture Notes in Computer Science muncul sebagai sumber paling relevan, menunjukkan peran penting ilmu komputer dalam pengembangan AI untuk pendidikan biologi. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat memberikan wawasan strategis untuk implementasi AI yang lebih efektif di masa depan.

Abstract

Many students still view physical education merely as physical activity, without understanding the industrial opportunities that can develop from this sector. This study integrates sport tourism viewed not just as economic activity, but as an intensive, performance-oriented context and sport science, which provides the foundational knowledge for optimizing human performance and experience quality within this setting. The study aims to develop the Sportife learning model and assess its validity through expert evaluation to ensure its feasibility for classroom implementation. This study uses the research and development method adopted from the Hannafin and Peck model, which consists of three stages: 1) needs analysis; 2) design phase; 3) implementation phase. In the implementation stage, the model was applied through experimental testing to examine its effectiveness in improving student learning outcomes. The research results produced a prototype of the Sportife learning model development, with a learning implementation response of 85.80% (very strong). The implementation of the model showed a 26.62% increase in students’ understanding of the sports-based creative economy. The Sportife model provides a holistic learning experience, integrating theory and practice of sport tourism, while fostering students’ analytical, creative, and collaborative skills. High acceptance (85.80%) confirms the practicality and relevance of the model in sports-based entrepreneurship learning.

Abstract

Background: Problem-Based Learning (PBL) promotes higher-order thinking, but in cell biology its implementation often produces cognitive overload because students must coordinate abstract organelle structures, invisible intracellular processes, and interconnected metabolic pathways across multiple representations. Existing studies rarely integrate structured problem design and task sequencing to address these specific cognitive demands. This study addressed that gap by combining the 3C3R and 4C/ID frameworks within a PBL environment. Objective: This study aimed to develop and evaluate an integrated PBL-3C3R-4C/ID instructional model for cell biology in terms of validity, practicality, and effectiveness in managing students’ cognitive load. Methods: Using a Research and Development approach based on Hannafin and Peck, followed by a pretest-posttest control group design, the study involved 231 secondary school students. Cognitive load was measured through a multidimensional scale covering intrinsic, extraneous, and germane load. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and paired t-tests. Results: The model demonstrated high validity and strong reliability (α = 0.91). Post-intervention results showed significant improvement in learning outcomes, accompanied by reduced extraneous load and increased germane load. Conclusion: Integrating 3C3R and 4C/ID within PBL offers a theoretically grounded and empirically supported approach for teaching complex cell biology while managing students’ working memory demands more effectively.

Abstract

Background-Although PBL is effective in biology learning, this approach often triggers cognitive overload when the complexity of the material and instructional demands exceed students' working memory capacity, while there is currently no empirically validated causal model available to explain these interactions. Objectives-This study aims to examine the effects of material complexity and teaching strategies on students' cognitive load and to assess the interaction of the two in PBL-based biology learning. Method-A quantitative explanatory design was employed with 240 eighth-grade students from junior high schools in Pontianak, Indonesia. Data were collected using validated 5-point Likert scales and analyzed through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) via AMOS 26.0, encompassing confirmatory factor analysis, goodness-of-fit evaluation, structural path analysis, and Sobel mediation test. Measurement quality was confirmed with AVE values ranging from 0.58 to 0.65 and CR values from 0.81 to 0.88. Results-Material complexity (β = 0.59; p < 0.001) and teaching strategies (β = 0.38; p < 0.001) significantly predicted cognitive load. A significant mediation effect was confirmed via Sobel test (z = 2.26; p < 0.05), indicating that teaching strategies partially mediate the relationship between material complexity and cognitive load formation. Conclusions-Adaptive instructional design grounded in Cognitive Load Theory encompassing scaffolding, content segmentation, and structured sequencing is essential to ensure PBL is both pedagogically effective and cognitively ergonomic.
