Abstract

Abstract

This study explores the social actions of lecturers and students at PTIQ University Jakarta in responding to media news regarding the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH). Using Weber's social action theory, the research emphasizes understanding the meaning behind individual actions, especially in media reception. Through interviews, focus group discussions (FGDs), and online engagement, the study identifies how Muslim audiences act critically and reflectively to verify, disseminate, and promote accurate information. Their efforts aim to counter public distrust and maintain institutional integrity. The findings highlight the role of Muslim social agents in shaping public discourse through ethical and constructive engagement with media. This phenomenon reflects a spiritual and value-driven orientation rooted in Islamic sociology, where social action is rational and guided by religious accountability. The study contributes to social action theory by integrating Islamic perspectives, emphasizing that social behavior in Muslim societies often reflects both worldly reasoning and ukhrāwī (afterlife) considerations.

Abstract

Intergender communication in Muslim societies is often influenced by social norms, patriarchal culture, and conservative religious interpretations, which can limit equality in speech, social roles, and leadership. This study focuses on how Islamic spirituality, which encompasses values such as tauhid (oneness of God), rahmah (compassion), adab (etiquette/morality), justice (keadilan), ihsan (excellence/sincerity), and sincere intention (niat ikhlas), can serve as a basis for forming a more just, empathetic, and transformative pattern of gender communication. Using the literature review method, this article collects relevant literature from classical and modern texts, as well as empirical research from Indonesian and global contexts. The narrative describes the framework of Islamic spirituality, analyzes the relationship between spirituality and gender communication, identifies challenges, and deepens the discussion on practical implications in the context of education, dakwah (Islamic preaching/outreach), media, and family. The results of the study indicate that Islamic spirituality offers the potential for the transformation of gender communication: through adab, moral equality before God, sincere intention, and sincere mutual respect between genders; however, obstacles such as patriarchal interpretations, local culture, regulatory uncertainty, and inadequate education are still very dominant. This study hopes to become a theoretical foundation for further empirical research and for communicative practices in Muslim communities that are more humane and spiritual.

Abstract

This study investigates the participation in da'wah by female preachers of 'Aisyiah in Bogor Regency to address the significant increase in domestic violence during the Covid-19 period. The lack of comprehension in the application of intersexual communication to solving economic, health, and educational problems for children is the primary factor in the emergence of both verbal and physical violence. Participatory methods to observe and encourage action and collaboration between female preachers of Aisyiah in Bogor Regency and volunteers, as well as in-depth observations and interviews, comprise the study's approach to da'wah and gender communication. Field analysis of data processing analysis. This study demonstrates that husbands committed more domestic violence against their women during the Covid-19 period as a result of deteriorating gender communication patterns due to emotional dominance and a lack of comprehension of Islamic values between partners. Therefore, it is necessary to approach gender communication based on the Qur'an and hadith in order to assist married couples in achieving inner balance.
