It is hoped that this will help prevent the occurrence of violence, which can reduce the quality of life and health of individuals and their surrounding environment. The methods used include lectures and Q&A discussions between the speakers and 25 participants of the education session. The implementation stages of the activity begin with a pre-test, followed by the presentation of material related to domestic violence, its causes, various forms, its impact on various aspects, and its prevention. Finally, a post-test is conducted. The results obtained from the paired sample test show a p-value of 0.000, indicating a probability above the significant level (0.000 < 0.05). The conclusion is that there is an increase in the participants' knowledge about the prevention of domestic violence before and after the education session. It is hoped that the community can prevent domestic violence and support the creation of a violence-free environment.

Abstract

In several countries, it has been found that people experienced symptoms of COVID-19 even after several weeks or months since they were declared cured or tested negative. This symptom is known as the long COVID-19 syndrome. This study aimed to get an overview of the long COVID-19 syndrome experienced by children. This study was a cross-sectional study conducted in West Sumatra, Indonesia in August-October 2021. The sample was 214 children younger than 18 years old. The results showed that after more than four weeks tested positive for COVID-19, 28.5% of children still have respiratory disorders, 26.2% experienced symptoms of sleep disorders, 23.4% of children experienced fatigue, 11.2% of children experienced symptoms of memory disorders, and 8.42% experienced symptoms of digestive disorders. Although not as much as in adults, this study shows that long COVID-19 syndrome can also occur in children. The clinical manifestations of long COVID-19 were varied in symptoms and can occur alone or in combination simultaneously. Parents should continue to optimize their child's time to rest even though they have declared negative for COVID-19 and keep an eye on the symptoms that still appear.

Abstract

Teenage girls are at risk of experiencing anemia because they menstruate every month. Anemia that is not treated immediately can negatively impact the short and long-term. In the long term, the impact of anemia can also affect pregnancy. Pregnancy with anemia will increase the risk of having a baby with a low birth weight and the risk that the child born will grow up to be stunted. So, women need to prevent anemia as early as possible. Education regarding the prevention of anemia has yet to be carried out at MTsS Pesantren Thawalib, and students have not taken Blood Supplement Tablets (BST) once a week. MTsS female students who menstruate every month are the right target group to be given education and health information related to preventing anemia. This service activity aims to increase female students' knowledge regarding anemia prevention. The methods used were counseling, putting up posters, giving BST, distributing pocketbooks, and distributing BST drinking calendars. The extension activities began with a pre-test and post-test to measure female students' knowledge before and after the education on anemia prevention. There was an increase in the average knowledge before 5.26 (pre-test) to 7.87 (post-test) after being given counseling with a p-value of 0.000. This shows that the anemia prevention education that has been carried out can increase the level of knowledge of female students. Students and schools should optimally utilize poster media, pocketbooks, and BST drinking calendars. With this service activity, female students can prevent anemia by regularly consuming BST once a week. Support is needed from MTsS Pesantren Thawalib Padang to monitor the student's compliance with BST consumption by checking the BST drinking calendar distributed to each student.

In addition, the discovery of chlorine which is harmful to health. The average woman uses more than 16,000 pads/tampons/pantyliners during her lifetime. That means, there are more than 45 million women's products are used and discarded every year. In Indonesia alone, it turns out that sanitary pads can reach 26 tons every day. The Faculty of Public Health (FKM) Andalas University realizes that the problem of waste, especially waste from pads, is very important for the balance of the environmental ecosystem. As an initial step to reduce sanitary napkin waste by providing education and socialization on the manufacture of cloth sanitary napkins. The service activity began with socialization with the school principal and teachers, after which it was given to all 29 Al-Ishlah High School students. Then a pre-test was conducted to find out the students' knowledge regarding eco-friendly sanitary napkins and menstruation where more than half of the students (89%) had good knowledge about reproductive health. After that, counseling was carried out regarding the impact of using disposable sanitary napkins on the environment and educating female students to use cloth sanitary napkins and explaining how to make cloth sanitary napkins. It is hoped that by carrying out this community service activity, the use of disposable pads/plastic pads can be reduced little by little, so that the amount of sanitary pad waste can be reduced and the environment will be better.
