Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model in improving students' mathematics learning outcomes on polynomial material in class XI MIA 1 at SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Timur. The background of this study is the low learning outcomes of students, as indicated by average scores that have not reached the Minimum Passing Criteria (KKM). This research used the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, which was carried out in two cycles, each consisting of the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 23 students with instruments in the form of learning outcome tests and student activity observation sheets. The results showed an increase in both the mastery of learning outcomes and student activity. In cycle I, the percentage of student learning mastery was only 57%, then increased in cycle II to 82.61%. Student learning activities also increased from 65.70% in cycle I to 85.53% in cycle II. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the Jigsaw learning model is effective in improving student mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

From the results of the validity of the first cycle student problem solving test instrument above, it was found that all items had a minimum validation correlation of moderate category, so that all items could be used for evaluation in this study. the results of the difficulty level of the problem-solving ability test instrument above, it was found that the percentage interval of the difficulty level of the questions was at 27%-73%, with the minimum item category being moderate. All questions are not too difficult and not too easy, so they can be used for evaluation in this study. The implementation stages of this classroom action research include: Action planning, In this stage a plan will be made in the form of activities that will be carried out by the teacher in planning classroom action research on the application of problem-based learning strategies, Implementation of actions, In this stage, the teacher conveys the competencies to be achieved during the learning process, Observation, In this stage, observations are made of student and teacher activities in the learning process, Reflection. At this stage, classroom action research will continue if the level of problem-solving ability of students in the circle material mathematics lesson is marked by student learning mastery that has not reached 80% in the good category

Abstract

This study uses problem solving methods in the experimental class A and the cooperative method with the type of Guided Inquiry in the experimental class B. In research that uses problem solving learning, students' mathematical problem solving abilities in experimental class A will be seen. Data on students' mathematical problem solving abilities are obtained by providing description test as many as 5 questions on the pretest and posttest. From previous research data, the researcher obtained tcount = 1.950 and ttable = 1.670. This indicates that the learning outcomes taught using problem solving methods are different from problem solving abilities using the cooperative method of Guided Inquiry. Meanwhile, in the cooperative model of the type of Guided Inquiry, the class became a little noisier and slower because of the change in groups from the initial group to the expert group and from the expert group back to the initial group again. The results of these calculations indicate that the problem solving method and the cooperative method of the type of Guided Inquiry have differences in students' mathematical problem solving abilities. The test results on the problem-solving method and the cooperative method of the Guided Inquiry type showed that students had the ability to state what was contained in the problem into a mathematical model and students could express the correct reasons for the questions given.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of Blended Learning on the motivation to learn mathematics in class XII TBSM SMK Negeri 1 Angkola Timur. This type of research is an experiment by giving treatment to the research sample group and then given a post-test, as a data collection tool the instrument is a student's mathematics learning motivation questionnaire. The sample in this study consisted of 2 classes of 30 students in class XI TBSM-1 as the experimental class and class XI TBSM-2 as the control class. The results of the questionnaire on students' motivation to learn mathematics obtained an average score of students on the subject of relations and functions of 83.53 and a standard deviation of 10.644 in the experimental class or those given treatment. While in the control class obtained an average value of 76.93 with a standard deviation of 8.925. And after the t-test was carried out on the post-test data of the experimental and control classes, which was used to see whether there was an effect of Blended Learning on the motivation to learn mathematics in class XI TBSM students of SMK Negeri 1 Angkola Timur, it was found that the t-count = 2.602 and t- table = 2.042 for the significance level = 0.05. This shows that the value of t-count > t-table is 2.602 > 2.042 then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted.

Abstract

The curriculum is a learning program that aims to advance education in schools. Much has been done to advance the world of education, especially in curriculum development which has undergone changes from time to time. This is done to advance students to become better students in achieving learning with more optimal results in accordance with mutual expectations. Students are given the freedom to choose a learning style that suits their interests and talents, which is one of the characteristics of an independent curriculum. Students have different learning styles consisting of visual, audiotorial and kinesthetic learning styles, which are types of learning styles that make students have different learning interests. Learning also requires an interesting strategy in developing student learning, with an interesting strategy students can become more enthusiastic and more interested in learning. This is the basis for teachers to develop themselves into creative, innovative teachers who can make students into material that must be advanced in the world of education. The training carried out at SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Barat is expected to provide solutions for teachers in overcoming learning problems and provide input in developing more creative and innovative teachers.
