Abstract

This research is an analysis of Hiroshima City Condition Before and After Bombed by United States as Depicted in John Hersey’s “Hiroshima”: Historical Approach. It is research has two specific objectives of this research, first is to find out the problems faced by the people of Hiroshima before and after the bombing. The second are to find out the facts of the historical facts after bombed. The methodology used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. Data would be gathered from primary source, which is the novel Hiroshima, and secondary sources from various sources, such as history books. The analysis of this study applies the historical approach of Hippolyte Adolph Taine (1872) which explains the race, milieu, and moment. The problem of the Hiroshima community before and after the bombing is proven where many of citizens in Hiroshima lived improperly because the condition of economic matters was paralytic. And the condition be apprehensive is many of citizen in Hiroshima died and were permanently disabled. Then historical facts are also found, namely the surrender of Japan on August 15, 1945 which is announced by the emperor Tenno and the construction of a national monument named the Institute of International Amity. With all these facts, the researchers then concluded that Hiroshima, written by John Hersey indeed contained facts about the fear and anxiety of the Hiroshima community before and after the bombings carried out by United States soldiers.

Abstract

This research is based on the findings of the previous studies which show that there are still low quality of Critical Thinking of students. Therefore, it is necessary to apply ICT-based learning as well as to optimize the Critical Thinking ability of the students. One of the learning method in the 21st century is the Project Based Learning based ICT. The purpose of this study is to solve the problem concerning the are still low quality of Critical Thinking students as well as the problems faced by lecturers who teach in universities in Batam.This is a quasi-experimental research that want to find out the efectivenes of Project Based Learning bsed ICT towards Criical Thinking of EFL students in Batam. An eexperimental class is given a treatment used Project Based Learning based ICT with critical thinking theory. Then, control class is given a treathment used conventional method with critical thinking theory Then the researcher calculated the data using the normality test. The normality of control class L observed <L table (0.099 <0.165) and in the experimental class (0.133 <0.162). Thus, it can be concluded that all data is normally distributed. Then the homogeneity test is conducted where F observed is <F table (1.20 <1.88. So it can be concluded that all data is homogeneous. The last is the hypothesis test where T observed> T table (7.50> 2.00). Therefore, it can be concluded that the proposed hypothesis is accepted. Thus Project Based Learning based ICT method has a significant influence on the Critical Thinking ability of EFL students in Batam

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to improve students' engagement and motivation in learning English through the use of handout media. The research was conducted on students of the Accounting Study Program, Class of 2023/2024, at Universitas Sumatera Barat. The method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR), which consisted of two cycles. The results showed that the use of handouts significantly increased students' positive engagement and reduced negative behaviors during learning. Learning mastery also improved from 63% to 96%. These findings indicate that handouts are an effective learning aid in teaching English at the university level.Keywords: Learning Activity, Motivation, Handout, English, Students

Abstract

Study This aim for find proof empirical about influencing factors accuracy timereporting finance company registered banking _ on the Indonesian Stock Exchange, the factors tested in study This that is profitability, Audit Committee, and Company Size. Sample from study This using 60 registered banking companies on the Indonesian Stock Exchange period 2020-2022 taken _ with use purposive sampling method. Method analysis of the data used is analysis quantitative, i.e test assumption consisting of classics from test normality, test multicollinearity and test heteroscedasticity, analysis multiple linear regression, test consisting hypothesis _ from t test, f test as well R2 test. Results study identify that profitability and influential audit committee on precision time reporting finance companym whereas size company No influential on accuracy time reporting finance company registered banking _ on the Stock Exchange Indonesian, On The Ftestisk nown that profitability, audit committe eand size company influential in a way together to accuracy time reporting finance.

Abstract

Code switching is a part of sociolinguistic phenomenon that often occurs in the community by using more than one language combination in one phrase or sentence. Code switching can be found anywhere. One of the common places where code switching can be found is in TV program. In the case, the aim of this study was to identify and analyze the types of code switching found in Hitam Putih talk show and the reasons for using the code switching. The theory used to analyze code switching in this study is related to tags, intrasentential, and intersentential is proposed by Stockwell (2002), while the theory used to analyze the reasons for using code switching is proposed by Hoffman (1991). The study uses qualitative research. The object of the study is code switching found in the Hitam Putih talk show. The results of this study showed that, out of 73 data that was analyzed, 19 of them contain switching tags. 48 data contain intrasentential switching, while the other 6 data contain intersentential switching. The writer also found a reason to use code switching in Hitam Putih talk show because of interjection, discussing a particular topic, being emphatic about something, repetition used for clarification, intention of clarifying the speech content for interlocutor, and expressing group identity.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk menggambarkan apakah Simulation Teknik memberikan efek yang signikan tehadap penguasaan vocabulary mahasiswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi eksperimen yang dilaksanakan pada mahasiswa semester 1, Program Akuntansi tahun ajaran 2020/2021. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes lisan dan dianalisis dengan menggunakan t-test. Hasil penelitian tersebut menunjukkan bahwa: (1) terdapat perbedaan vocabulary mastery yang signifikan antara pre-test dan post-test yang diberikan pada kelas eskperimen dengan menggunakan teknik simulasi, (2) terdapat perbedaan vocabulary mastery yang signikfikan antara pre-test dan post-test yang diberikan pada kelas kontrol dengan menggunakan teknik small group discussion, (3) tidak terdapat perbedaan vocabulary mastery yang signifikan antara post-test kelas eksperimen dengan post- test kelas control.
