Abstract

The problems raised in this study is related to the effectiveness of school-based lesson study in an effort to improve teacher competency. This study is conducted with the aim of improving the competency of Indonesian language teachers at SD IT Tumaninah Yasin Metro for the 2020/2021 academic year. The results shows that the implementation of the teacher's ability done in cycle I and cycle II. The meeting in the first cycle of the implementation of the teacher's ability in planning learning is 78.3% and the implementation of the teacher's ability in the implementation of learning is 77.9%. The implementation of the learning evaluation is 79.1%, this value is lower than the total value in the second cycle, namely the implementation of the teacher's ability to plan learning of 84, 2% and the implementation of the teacher's ability in the implementation of learning is 86.3%. However, the implementation of the learning evaluation is 87.5%. The conclusion obtained from this study is that the implementation of lesson study at SD IT Tumaninah Yasin Metro based on the research findings in cycle I and cycle II as a whole can improve the pedagogic competence of Indonesian language teachers at SD IT Tumaninah Yasin Metro. The implementation of lesson study at SD IT Tumaninah Yasin Metro on the performance of teachers in doing the lesson study stage in each cycle has increased. It is hoped that the support from various parties can cintinue and sustain the implementation of school-based lesson study.

Abstract

This study aimed to identify and describe the relationship level of diction and schemata mastery with reading ability at the fifth-grade students of SD Negeri 2 Srikuncoro, Semaka District, in the 2018/2019. This study is a quantitative descriptive method of because the score. The variables in this study are in the form of numbers and are presented in the form of tabulation and using statistical analysis. The population of this research is students of the fifth grade of SD Negeri 2 Srikuncoro Semaka District Tanggamus District. Semaka 2018/2019 Academic Year consists of 2 classes. Research result shows that the correlation coefficient between diction mastery and reading comprehension ability of 0.776. The correlation coefficient between schemata on the ability to read comprehension of 0.820, while the double coefficient correlation between diction and schemata mastery on the ability to read comprehension of 0.836. The conclusion can be drawn is that there is a very close and significant relationship between vocabulary mastery and schemata with reading comprehension ability in the fifth grade of SD Negeri 2 Srikuncoro, Semaka Tanggamus District, 2018/2019 academic year. This indicates that the better the mastery of diction and schemata owned, the better the reading comprehension ability.

Abstract

This research aims to improve listening skills and learning motivation by using audio-visual media in seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 7 Mesuji. Classroom action research is a research in which the researcher collaborates with several parties, both principals, classroom teachers, and researchers simultaneously, with two cycles, each cycle having three meetings. The method used in this research is classroom action research (CAR). This study used the subject of class VII students of SMP Negeri 7 Mesuji. The population of this study amounted to 56 students. The entire population was sampled, so the sample was 56 students. Methods of data collection using checklist observations, interviews and documentation. Data were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive techniques. The results showed that the use of audio-visual media was effective in improving the ability to listen to fantasy stories for seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 7 Mesuji. This can be seen from the results of the study which showed that the students' listening ability during the pre-cycle only obtained an average score of 37.32 and this was included in the poor category. When the action was taken in the first cycle, the students' listening ability increased to 49.28 and was included in the sufficient category. Furthermore, in the second (second) cycle, the score reached 64.82 (Good). Likewise, in increasing learning motivation, the use of audio-visual methods also increases learning motivation. In the pre-cycle, the score of 48.35 was included in the sufficient category; in the first cycle the score is 54.78 which is included in the sufficient category, while in the second cycle the score is 68.21 which is included in the good category.
