Abstract

The Holy Scriptures in the view of the Catholic Church are the Word of God in human language. The Word of God is a source of inspiration and guidance for human life with Catholic faith. Catholic Youth as the next generation of the future Church live in a pluralistic society. This presence should be an active presence in a responsive and involved social role for community development. So Catholic Youth explored the inspiration for responsive spirituality in the holy book. This research seeks to provide insight into the importance of the holy book as a source of inspiration for responsive spirituality for Catholic Youth. Through the method of involved observation and literature study, the problem of the lack of involvement of Catholic Youth in social roles is examined through a responsive spirituality that originates from the scriptures. The holy book is a source of inspiration for a responsive spirituality that moves Catholic Youth to be actively involved in social roles that empower the community.

Abstract

One of the sacraments in the Catholic Church is the sacrament of penance. Through this sacrament a sinful Catholic believer declares repentance by confessing his sins and receiving forgiveness from God through the serving priest. Catholic students as Catholic believers live their faith, among others, by celebrating the sacrament of repentance. However, in reality, there is a phenomenon which shows that the sacrament of repentance is not well understood by Catholic students. This research was conducted on Catholic students of the Department of State Administration, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Nusa Cendana, Kupang. The results show that there are still many Catholic students who do not understand the meaning of this sacrament and have an impact on the practice of celebrating it. For this reason, catechism efforts are needed for students to have a correct understanding of the sacrament of repentance and to celebrate it regularly with full awareness of faith.

Abstract

Bagi umat Katolik, Kitab Suci adalah sabda Allah yang menjadi inspirasi bagi manusia beriman untuk mengelola hidup dengan baik dan benar. Mendengarkan Sabda Allah melalui pembacaan Kitab Suci adalah hal penting. Konsili Vatikan II dalam Dei Verbum 25 sangat mengharapkan agar umat Katolik memiliki akses sebesar-besarnya untuk mengakrabkan diri dengan Kitab Suci. Harapan tersebut berbenturan dengan kenyataan masih minimnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan umat Katolik dalam membaca Kitab Suci, termasuk umat Katolik di Paroki Holy Family Lapok, Malaysia. Kegiatan pelatihan pendalaman Kitab Suci untuk umat Paroki Holy Family Lapok, Malaysia, menjadi salah satu bentuk upaya untuk menjawab harapan Konsili Vatikan II tersebut. Umat Katolik di paroki ini membutuhkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam hal membaca dan mendalami Kitab Suci. Maka kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan untuk menjawab kebutuhan umat. Metode yang dipakai adalah penyuluhan dan pelatihan. Melalui penyuluhan, umat dibimbing untuk mengetahui seluk beluk Kitab Suci. Melalui pelatihan, umat dilatih untuk terampil membaca dan mendalami teks Kitab Suci dengan teknik praktis. Hasilnya para peserta mengenal seluk beluk Kitab Suci secara umum, dan teknik sederhana untuk membaca dan mendalami Kitab Suci.

Abstract

Konsili Vatikan II melalui dokumen Dei Verbum Artikel 25 mendesak umat beriman Katolik untuk selalu membaca kitab suci. Umat Kapela Oemolo Paroki Oecusse, Timor Leste sebagai umat Katolik didesak pula oleh Konsili Vatikan II untuk membaca kitab suci. Namun kenyataannya masih banyak umat Kapela Oemolo yang belum memiliki Alkitab Katolik dan tidak membaca kitab suci karena juga tidak mengetahui cara membaca yang baik. Di sisi lain, umat yang adalah warga masyarakat suku Dawan Ambenu itu hidup dalam spirit nekaf mese ansaof mese atau sehati sepikiran. Dalam kitab suci, terdapat banyak ungkapan yang menjelaskan spirit nekaf mese ansaof mese yang intisari terdalamnya adalah cinta kasih. Sosialisasi ini dilaksanakan untuk menjembatani kesenjangan antara harapan Konsili Vatikan II dan kebutuhan umat untuk memiliki kitab suci serta terampil membaca kitab suci secara sederhana. Metode yang digunakan adalah ceramah, diskusi dan latihan membaca teks pilihan untuk menemukan pesan injil yang cocok dengan spirit nekaf mese ansaof mese. Hasilnya adalah umat memiliki kitab suci, terampil membaca secara sederhana dan mampu menemukan spirit nekaf mese ansaof mese dalam kitab suci serta menghayatinya.

Abstract

This article analyzes the roles of Mary and Martha from the perspective of Luke 10:38-42, which depicts two different attitudes in welcoming the arrival of Jesus: action (Martha) and contemplation (Mary). This research aims to analyze the differences between these two attitudes and how they can be applied in the lives of today's youth. Using a literature review method, this study examines the importance of action and contemplation in the spiritual and daily lives of young people. The results of the study show that these two attitudes complement each other. Both have strong relevance in providing guidance for the younger generation to achieve a balance between dynamic social activity and deep spiritual experience. This offers important insight into how young people can find harmony in a life full of demands and challenges while maintaining their closeness to God.
