Abstract

The Holy Scriptures in the view of the Catholic Church are the Word of God in human language. The Word of God is a source of inspiration and guidance for human life with Catholic faith. Catholic Youth as the next generation of the future Church live in a pluralistic society. This presence should be an active presence in a responsive and involved social role for community development. So Catholic Youth explored the inspiration for responsive spirituality in the holy book. This research seeks to provide insight into the importance of the holy book as a source of inspiration for responsive spirituality for Catholic Youth. Through the method of involved observation and literature study, the problem of the lack of involvement of Catholic Youth in social roles is examined through a responsive spirituality that originates from the scriptures. The holy book is a source of inspiration for a responsive spirituality that moves Catholic Youth to be actively involved in social roles that empower the community.

Abstract

One of the sacraments in the Catholic Church is the sacrament of penance. Through this sacrament a sinful Catholic believer declares repentance by confessing his sins and receiving forgiveness from God through the serving priest. Catholic students as Catholic believers live their faith, among others, by celebrating the sacrament of repentance. However, in reality, there is a phenomenon which shows that the sacrament of repentance is not well understood by Catholic students. This research was conducted on Catholic students of the Department of State Administration, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Nusa Cendana, Kupang. The results show that there are still many Catholic students who do not understand the meaning of this sacrament and have an impact on the practice of celebrating it. For this reason, catechism efforts are needed for students to have a correct understanding of the sacrament of repentance and to celebrate it regularly with full awareness of faith.

Abstract

Bagi umat Katolik, Kitab Suci adalah sabda Allah yang menjadi inspirasi bagi manusia beriman untuk mengelola hidup dengan baik dan benar. Mendengarkan Sabda Allah melalui pembacaan Kitab Suci adalah hal penting. Konsili Vatikan II dalam Dei Verbum 25 sangat mengharapkan agar umat Katolik memiliki akses sebesar-besarnya untuk mengakrabkan diri dengan Kitab Suci. Harapan tersebut berbenturan dengan kenyataan masih minimnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan umat Katolik dalam membaca Kitab Suci, termasuk umat Katolik di Paroki Holy Family Lapok, Malaysia. Kegiatan pelatihan pendalaman Kitab Suci untuk umat Paroki Holy Family Lapok, Malaysia, menjadi salah satu bentuk upaya untuk menjawab harapan Konsili Vatikan II tersebut. Umat Katolik di paroki ini membutuhkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam hal membaca dan mendalami Kitab Suci. Maka kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan untuk menjawab kebutuhan umat. Metode yang dipakai adalah penyuluhan dan pelatihan. Melalui penyuluhan, umat dibimbing untuk mengetahui seluk beluk Kitab Suci. Melalui pelatihan, umat dilatih untuk terampil membaca dan mendalami teks Kitab Suci dengan teknik praktis. Hasilnya para peserta mengenal seluk beluk Kitab Suci secara umum, dan teknik sederhana untuk membaca dan mendalami Kitab Suci.

Abstract

Konsili Vatikan II melalui dokumen Dei Verbum Artikel 25 mendesak umat beriman Katolik untuk selalu membaca kitab suci. Umat Kapela Oemolo Paroki Oecusse, Timor Leste sebagai umat Katolik didesak pula oleh Konsili Vatikan II untuk membaca kitab suci. Namun kenyataannya masih banyak umat Kapela Oemolo yang belum memiliki Alkitab Katolik dan tidak membaca kitab suci karena juga tidak mengetahui cara membaca yang baik. Di sisi lain, umat yang adalah warga masyarakat suku Dawan Ambenu itu hidup dalam spirit nekaf mese ansaof mese atau sehati sepikiran. Dalam kitab suci, terdapat banyak ungkapan yang menjelaskan spirit nekaf mese ansaof mese yang intisari terdalamnya adalah cinta kasih. Sosialisasi ini dilaksanakan untuk menjembatani kesenjangan antara harapan Konsili Vatikan II dan kebutuhan umat untuk memiliki kitab suci serta terampil membaca kitab suci secara sederhana. Metode yang digunakan adalah ceramah, diskusi dan latihan membaca teks pilihan untuk menemukan pesan injil yang cocok dengan spirit nekaf mese ansaof mese. Hasilnya adalah umat memiliki kitab suci, terampil membaca secara sederhana dan mampu menemukan spirit nekaf mese ansaof mese dalam kitab suci serta menghayatinya.

Abstract

Catholics have the holy Bible as a way of life of faith. But in reality there are still many people, especially young Catholics, who do not have adequate knowledge of their own scriptures. In addition, they are not used to reading and meditating on it, let alone using the holy Bible as a source of reflection for the sake of worship. On the other hand, the need for knowledge of the scriptures is increasing among the people. Likewise, the need for skills to read and meditate on the scriptures and the ability to compose biblical reflections that are useful in thanksgiving worship. This basic course of Bible training was created to answer the needs of Catholics, especially the young Catholics in the Saint Gregory the Great Oeleta Parish. Through this activity, the participants gain knowledge about the scriptures in general, and the skills to explore the texts of the scriptures and compose biblical reflections. Abstract

Road development planning is a type of infrastructure development, which functions as a fulfillment of one of the community's needs. Road construction includes the process of opening traffic spaces to connect one area to another. Road construction aims to get comfortable, safe and economical roads for the people who use them. Thus, it makes it easier for road users to reach a location and produces a high level of comfort and safety. The construction of the sirtu road and complementary buildings in hamlet III, Oemasi Village will greatly assist the people in Oemasi Village to expedite the flow of distribution of goods and services and economic activities in Oemasi Village. This requires good planning. This prepared plan is a solution for the Oemasi Village government to build roads according to community needs with a transparent and accountable budget.

Abstract

Scientific Journal Publication Training is the first step for students to understand the importance of writing articles and publication in scientific journals. This training is an effective step and has a positive impact so that students can understand how to write good and correct articles and improve students' skills and knowledge in writing scientific articles. The target of this training is for students of the Faculty of Philosophy, Widya Mandira Catholic University Kupang and Instituto Superior De Filosofia e De Teologia Dili who are carrying out International Research and Community Service activities. The purpose of this training is to answer students' problems in writing scientific articles, namely the lack of understanding of writing good and correct scientific articles, so that with this training, students from both institutions can understand about writing scientific articles and AI as the output of PPKM activities published in the OJS and Sinta Journals. The training methods used are lecture/socialization methods, discussions and exercises, practice writing scientific articles while doing community service and submitting articles to scientific journals. The results of this training are that several groups of students have succeeded in publishing PPKM articles in Sinta accredited journals.

Abstract

Artikel ini bertolak dari kenyataan bahwa banyak umat telah mendengar sabda Allah dalam Liturgi dan pengajaran Gereja, namun belum sepenuhnya menghidupinya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Situasi ini menegaskan pentingnya katekese sebagai proses pembinaan iman yang berkelanjutan, yang tidak hanya menekankan aspek pengetahuan, tetapi juga penghayatan dan perwujutan iman dalam tindakan nyata. Tulisan ini bertujuan merefleksikan katekese sebagai jalan pembinaan iman umat yang menuntun dari sabda menuju kehidupan. Fokus kajian artikel ini adalah peran katekese dalam membantu umat dewasa mengintegrasikan sabda Allah kedalam realitas hidup sehari-hari, baik dalam keluarga, pekerjaan, maupun kehidupan sosial. Metode yang digunakan adalah refleksi teologis pastoral dengan pendekatan kualitatif melalui studi literatur gereja dan pengalaman hidup umat. Pendekatan ini menekankan ketertarikan antara pewartaan sabda, pendampingan iman, serta partisiasi aktif umat dalam proses pembinaan. Hasil refleksi menunjukkan bahwa katekese yang kontekstual, dialogis, dan berpusat pada sabda Allah, mampu menumbuhkan iman yang lebih dewasa, sadar, dan tanggung jawab. Melalui katekese, umat tidak hanya memahami ajran iman secara intelektual, tetapi juga didorong untuk menghidupinya dalam sikap kasih, pelayanan, dan kesaksian di tengah masyarakat. Pembinaan iman yang berkelanjutan menjadi sarana penting untuk membentuk umat yang tangguh dalam menghadapi tantangan zaman dan tetap berakar pada nilai-nilai injil. Dengan demikian, katekese sebagai jalan pembinaan iman memiliki peran strategis dalam menjembatani sabda Allah dengan kehidupan konkrit umat. Pembaharuan metode dan pendekatan katekese yang relevan dengan konteks umat masa kini sangat diperlukan agar proses dari sabda menuju kehidupan dapat berlangsung secara nyata, mendalam, dan berkelanjutan dalam kehidupan Gereja. Abstract

One of the figures in the Bible who has an important role in the history of salvation is Mary. Mary's role began when she was called and chosen by God to conceive and give birth to the Word of God in the mystery of the Incarnation and her totality in accompanying Jesus in the work of His life until the fullness of Jesus' "moment" namely redemption on the cross. Mary's role is specifically contained in the four Gospels. Many studies have examined Mary's role from the perspective of the synoptic Gospels and the Gospel of John specifically in the aspects of holiness, discipleship and obedience. This research examines aspects of Mary's constitutive appointment as mother of the Church in the Gospel of John 19:25-27. The method used in this research is a literature study with a descriptive analysis approach to the text of John 19:25-27. Through this research, it was found that the text of John 19:25-27 can be interpreted as a theological basis that supports the appointment of Mary as Mother of the Church. The theological significance of the relationship between Mary, Jesus, and John on the cross brings a deeper understanding of Mary's role in the Church.

Abstract

The caste structure in the culture of Ngada Regency is an integral part of social identity that regulates the relationships, roles, and status of individuals within the community. However, in practice, this structure often has implications for gender inequality, especially for women, who experience marginalization in social, cultural, and symbolic spaces. The main problem of this research is how the caste structure contributes to the oppression of women and how feminist contextual theology can provide a framework for critical reflection on this reality. This research uses a qualitative method with a feminist contextual theological reflection approach, through literature analysis, socio-cultural studies, and theological hermeneutics on women's experiences as locus theologicus. The results show that the caste structure functions not only as a social identity system but also as a power structure that perpetuates gender injustice. From the perspective of feminist contextual theology, the experiences of oppressed women become a source of theological reflection that reveals the call to liberate and restore human dignity as the imago Dei. Thus, feminist contextual theology offers a critical and transformative framework for the Church and society to reflect on, critique, and transform unjust cultural structures towards more equal and humane relationships.
