Abstract

The Proclamation of Indonesian Independence on August 17, 1945, is the fruit of a long struggle that has been achieved by the entire Indonesian nation. Everyone who has fought for their independence is still struggling to defend their independence from the Westerners who have re-occupied Indonesia. He has proven the task carried out in defending Indonesia's independence from the ulama and santri circles. This study reveals the movement of ulama and santri in the Battle of Ambarawa in 1945. Ulama who incidentally are religious leaders in this study are also described as war leaders who play a role in moving students or their followers. This research is a historical study, in historical research there are methods, namely: Heuristics are the stages of finding or collecting sources, verifying or criticizing sources, interpreting or interpreting, and historiography or historical writing. The results of this study state that: The Battle of Ambarawa was a series of battles from Semarang and Magelang. Resistance in this battle has involved ulama and santri in various areas around Ambarawa. Crowds of ulama, and santri, cooperated against the Allied alliance. The determination and fighting spirit has flared in the warrior's chest. Ceasefires such as bomb explosions, the fall of torpedoes, cannon fire from tanks, and warplanes colored the course of the battle. The Muslims in this case have made a large contribution in the form of a number of troops, so that the Battle of Ambarawa was won by the Republicans.

Abstract

Literasi matematika didefinisikan sebagai kemampuan seseorang untuk merumuskan, menggunakan, dan menafsirkan matematika dalam berbagai konteks seperti melakukan penalaran matematis dan menggunakan konsep, fakta, dan prosedur sebagai alat untuk mendiskripsikan, menjelaskan dan memprediksi sesuatu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kendala siswa pada penyelesaian soal literasi matematika. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMAN 1 Kejayan dan subjek yang diteliti merupakan siswa kelas XII-9 yang berjumlah siswa. Dari seluruh siswa, dipilih 3 siswa sebagai subjek penelitian yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini berupa soal tes, dan pedoman wawancara. Pemilihan subjek didasarkan pada kriteria kemampuan yang diukur melalui tes dan diklasifikasikan menjadi tiga kategori yaitu: tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa memiliki dua faktor kendala, Faktor yang pertama, kendala bagi siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal literasi adalah kurangnya pengunaan konsep, kemudian faktor yang kedua yaitu kemampuan siswa untuk mengubah soal literasi menjadi kalimat matematika, kalimat matematika membantu memahami proses merubah keadaan nyata dalam bahasa matematika.

Abstract

Teachers must be aware of and take action regarding students' errors in creating incomplete mathematical concepts, also referred to as construction holes, particularly when it comes to answering numeracy literacy questions. This will help students rebuild their understanding of numeracy literacy questions overall. By using diagrams to depict the answers to numeracy literacy questions both before and after the defragmentation process, this study seeks to identify the places where pupils fall short conceptually. A mixed-methods research methodology was employed for this study, which was conducted in two phases: quantitative analysis was used in the first phase, and qualitative analysis in the second. Based on the research findings, the numeracy component of the statistics curriculum is where the gaps in students' thinking processes are located. Students' thought structures can be strengthened by the use of defragmentation. When answering questions on numeracy and literacy, the defragmentation method utilized is scaffolding at level two, which consists of explaining, reviewing, and restructuring. The mean, mode, and median material in the student results contained construction holes that were later resolved through a scaffolding type that involved three steps: explaining, reviewing, and restructuring. This process helped students avoid making mistakes when answering the questions about the mean, mode, and median.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berfokus pada eksplorasi konsep matematika dalam aktivitas etnomatematika yang dilakukan oleh petani padi di Desa Patebon. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode etnografi, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap penerapan konsep matematika dalam kegiatan pertanian, khususnya dalam proses penanaman padi. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari tiga petani di Dusun Belang, Desa Patebon, Kecamatan Kejayan, Kabupaten Pasuruan, yang memberikan informasi terkait aktivitas etnomatematika dalam pertanian. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan teknik analisis tematik untuk mengidentifikasi pola matematika yang muncul secara sengaja maupun tidak sengaja. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa petani menerapkan konsep matematika seperti penghitung, pengukuran, dan perhitungan dalam kegiatan pertanian mereka. Aktivitas yang paling umum adalah menghitung luas sawah dan nilai tempat, serta mengukur ukuran dan luas lahan. Konsep matematika yang ditemukan meliputi perbandingan nilai, operasi aritmetika (perkalian, penjumlahan, pembagian), perbandingan, serta konversi satuan panjang dan berat. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa penerapan matematika dalam aktivitas pertanian berkontribusi pada efisiensi dan akurasi pengelolaan lahan pertanian. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini memberikan wawasan baru mengenai pentingnya etnomatematika dalam meningkatkan praktik pertanian tradisional.

Abstract

Salah satu masalah krusial dalam dunia pendidikan adalah sulitnya siswa memahami matematika. Banyak siswa yang menganggap bahwa matematika adalah pelajaran yang sulit untuk dipelajari. Salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan minat dan pemahaman siswa terutama pada mata pelajaran yang dianggap sulit seperti matematika adalah dengan menggunakan permainan dalam pembelajaran matematika. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X di SMKN 1 Pasuruan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kebutuhan akan media permainan dalam pembelajaran matematika dan mengimplementasikan media permainan “Memorize Math Squidward”. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif, kemudian analisis data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini mengacu pada model Miles dan Huberman, yaitu (1) reduksi data; (2) penyajian data; (3) verifikasi/penarikan kesimpulan. Temuan dari penelitian ini adalah 95,7% siswa tertarik untuk menggunakan media permainan dalam pembelajaran matematika, dengan 98,6% siswa setuju jika guru menerapkan media permainan dalam pembelajaran matematika untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa, serta 98,6% siswa merasa senang jika pembelajaran matematika dibantu dengan media permainan. Salah satu permainan yang dapat diterapkan bersama siswa adalah permainan “Menghafal Matematika Squidward”.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the ethnomathematics activities carried out by corn farmers in Tegal Arum Village. The approach used is qualitative with an ethnographic method, with data collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation from two farmers who are knowledgeable in traditional corn farming practices. The main focus of this study is to identify the application of basic mathematical concepts, such as counting, measuring, and calculating, in their daily farming activities. The results show that the farmers in Tegal Arum Village apply mathematics in a contextual form, derived from experiences and practices passed down through generations. For example, they calculate the seed requirements, estimate the number of laborers and planting time, and measure the harvest using local units like sacks and handfuls. These activities reflect the relevant application of ethnomathematics, which can be integrated into contextual mathematics learning in schools. The findings indicate that mathematics is not only taught in a formal setting in schools but also naturally develops in the community's daily life, especially through farming activities. Therefore, the results of this study are expected to serve as a reference in the development of a local culture-based curriculum that connects mathematics learning to real-life contexts.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan mengoptimalkan potensi Alun-Alun Desa Tugusari sebagai destinasi wisata ideologi berbasis partisipasi masyarakat melalui pendekatan Asset Based Community Development (ABCD). Program dilaksanakan oleh mahasiswa KKN UIN KHAS Jember dengan fokus pada tiga kegiatan utama, yaitu penghijauan area alun-alun, pembuatan dan penempatan tempat sampah daur ulang, serta pembangunan taman dan spot foto berbentuk hati. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kebersihan lingkungan, partisipasi warga, dan rasa memiliki terhadap aset desa. Selain itu, kegiatan ini juga berdampak pada peningkatan ekonomi melalui penguatan UMKM di sekitar kawasan wisata. Pendekatan ABCD terbukti efektif dalam memberdayakan masyarakat dengan memanfaatkan aset lokal secara berkelanjutan. Program ini menciptakan kolaborasi antara mahasiswa, pemerintah desa, dan masyarakat sehingga menghasilkan perubahan positif bagi lingkungan dan sosial ekonomi warga.

Abstract

Many students still face difficulties in understanding statistics because inaccurate preconceptions often develop into misconceptions. This condition is important to study since misconceptions can hinder the mathematics learning process and reduce the quality of students’ conceptual understanding. This study aims to analyze in depth how preconceptions affect the emergence of misconceptions among senior high school students in learning statistics. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach, involving three tenth-grade students from State Senior High School 1 Purwosari who were selected through purposive sampling based on high, medium, and low achievement categories. Data were collected through diagnostic tests in the form of essay questions to reveal students’ preconceptions and in-depth interviews to explore their reasoning, then analyzed descriptively. The findings show that students with accurate preconceptions did not experience misconceptions, students with partially correct preconceptions developed classificational, theoretical, and correlational misconceptions, while students with incorrect preconceptions experienced more complex misconceptions, such as considering the median as the largest value and failing to relate changes in data to the properties of the mean, median, and mode. The study concludes that inaccurate preconceptions directly contribute to the emergence of various forms of misconceptions. The implication is that teachers need to detect, identify, and correct students’ preconceptions from the beginning of the learning process so that misconceptions can be minimized and students’ understanding of statistics can develop more comprehensively.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop a mathematics e-module based on the tourism potential of Pasuruan City material of flat-sided solid shapes. This research is motivated by the use of teaching materials by teachers is still manual, not in digital form that integrates local tourism potential. The type of research is R&D (Research and Development) with the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The results of the study show that the mathematics e-module based on the tourism potential of Pasuruan City material of flat-sided solid shapes has gone through a model development process. The validation results show that the percentage of experts with an average of 93.6% is in the very valid category. The application of the mathematics e-module received a positive response with a percentage of 88.5% on a small scale and on a large scale showing 89.2% in the very practical category. The posttest showed a percentage on a small scale of 83%, while on a large scale it reached 80% which is categorized as effective. Conclusion, the development of a mathematics e-module based on the tourism potential of Pasuruan City material of flat-sided solid shapes is declared valid, practical and effective.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of implementing the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) learning model on improving students' mathematical literacy, particularly in social arithmetic material at SMP Negeri 2 Wonorejo. The research used a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design in the form of a non-equivalent control group design. The population consisted of seventh-grade students from three classes, samples selected through purposive sampling based on preliminary test results: class VII B as the control group and class VII C as the experimental group. Research instruments included a validated observation sheet on student activities and an essay-type mathematical literacy test. Data analysis was conducted using normality tests, homogeneity tests, independent t-tests, and effect size calculation. The results indicated that student activities in the RME learning model were categorized as excellent. Hypothesis testing with an independent t-test yielded tcalculated = 2.81 > ttable = 1.56. The average post-test score of the experimental group (73.00) was higher than that of the control group (50.41). The effect size calculation resulted in d = 1.75, which falls into the large effect category. Thus, it can be concluded that the RME learning model has a positive and significant influence on improving students' mathematical literacy.
