Abstract

Industrial Revolution 4.0, as one of the main paradigms of the modern economy, requires higher education to straighten up to face this trend. Surabaya State University (UNESA) emphasizes the development of human resources (HR) as the main target of internal development in order to deal with industry 4.0. The academic community is encouraged to be sensitive to technology, by increasing intellectual capacity through civilization, training, competition, and / or schools. The study aims to identify the readiness of UNESA in facing challenges of Industrial Revolution 4.0. The implication of this research is to enrich the education management research about linking strategy between higher education and industry demand. The result showed that UNESA had moderate readiness in facing the challenges of Industrial Revolution 4.0 by deepening of intellectual capacity in the IT field through improving campus facilities and infrastructure, and procuring new learning technologies. Networking development with private sector is also becomes useful strategy in linking HR with the IT world related to Industry 4.0. Such a strategic effort under the prevailing laws and regulations enable UNESA to advance in pioneering the development of industry 4.0 on campus, especially for creating qualified graduates.

Abstract

In the Islamic boarding school, it is hoped that it can prepare students who are resilient to face global developments in the era of the 4.0 revolution which is increasingly rapid, ambiguous and full of uncertainty. Students must be able to adapt in the face of increasingly rapid global developments and are required to be able to balance worldly skills and the hereafter. To be able to compete in global competition, students are not only taught Islamic sciences but also have leadership skills. Leadership is one of the important factors for the success of an organization. Leadership is the art of influencing others, both in relation to individuals and groups. The ability to influence is closely related to the ability of a leader to influence his members to be able to work together in achieving organizational goals. The spirit of leadership cannot appear automatically but must always be honed, especially among teenagers. With the training to build a leadership spirit among the students of the Al-Furqon Al-Islami Driyorejo Islamic Boarding School, it is hoped that they will be able to play a role in channeling energy and developing the potential of the students in a positive direction, one of which is related to the growth and development factor of the leadership spirit so that this is one of the good provisions when they enter the community one day.

Abstract

Background: A racket's performance in controlling trajectory and manipulating the speed of the ball is greatly influenced by its structural characteristics and materials. The material of the table tennis racket can affect its performance, reducing the speed and control of the ball.Aims: The main objective of this research is to analyze the biomechanical performance of the Garuda Unesa Speed (GUS) table tennis racket made from Makassar ebony veneer as the main material and to compare its attributes, particularly speed and control, with those of high-end commercial rackets. Methods: This study applies a comparative design by comparing two types of rackets in table tennis. Two-dimensional kinematics analysis was also conducted using Kinovea software.Result: Based on the t-test results with a non-parametric path, all variables showed a significant difference with a p-value of 0.01 (Sig < 0.05). However, one variable did not show a significant difference, namely the velocity variable, with a p-value of 0.05 (Sig < 0.05). If examined from the average value, the speed variable has a slight difference (a difference of 0.5). The average speed data shows that the Makassar ebony wood veneer racket has better speed. Conclusion: Based on the results of biomechanical analysis, the reflection of the Makassar ebony wood veneer racket makes a good contribution to the speed and control of the table tennis racket. This finding has practical implications for designing an effective table tennis athlete smash and block game by utilizing the speed and control of a table tennis racket using Makassar ebony wood veneer.
