Abstract

Cell and molecular biology are among the topics that have led to the application of molecular technology. Problems arise when learners lack understanding of concepts or even frequent misconceptions due to many abstract concepts. This study aims to determine the level of student understanding through a resume in the form of a portfolio. The research method used descriptive approach. The population of the study is the students of Biology Education study program which has taken the subject of cell Biology and molecular number of 102 students, and the sample determination using random cluster so that 40 students are obtained. Data were analyzed descriptively-quantitative. Based on the findings in the field, it is known that the average value of the resume portfolio of 71.60 and categorized high. Thus, the students' concept of understanding is in the high category so that the assignment method makes the resume in the form of portfolio able to give better understanding of the concept of lecture material of Cell and Molecular Biology, with the average value of concept understanding through portfolio is in high category

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to assess the implementation of the strengthening of religious character education (PPK) at SMK Negeri 7 Bengkulu Utara. This research is an evaluative research with a descriptive approach. The population involved in the implementation of KDP are: principals, teachers and students. The research sample consisted of the principal, vice principal for curriculum affairs, five representatives of the teacher council and 92 students. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used statistical analysis of percentages. The results of this study indicate that: the implementation of strengthening religious character education in SMK Negeri 7 Bengkulu Utara in general has good criteria with the level of program implementation reaching 73.21%.

Abstract

Tujuan dari pengabdian ini sesuai dengan tujuan forum pemangku kepentingan daerah program sekolah penggerak, yaitu peningkatan mutu penyelenggaraan pendidikan yang dapat dilakukan oleh pemangku kepentingan di masing-masing satuan pendidikan. Seluruh pemangku kepentingan merefleksikan capaian kemajuan pendidikan di daerahnya sekali dalam satu semester. Setiap pemangku kepentingan memiliki rencana dan komitmen tindak lanjut untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan di daerahnya. Masalah yang dihadapi oleh para penyelenggara pendidikan di daerah khususnya di Kabupaten Bengkulu Selatan dan Rejang Lebong yang terkait dengan merancang dan menerapkan refleksi atau umpan balik serta interaksi dan berkolaborasi yang masih kurang. Program kegiatan forum pemangku kepentingan daerah ini dilakukan atas beberapa tahapan yaitu 1) Berbagi Praktik Baik; 2) Mimpi Bersama; 3) Diskusi Kelompok; 4) Strategi dan Rencana Tindak Lanjut Kelompok; 5) Komitmen Individu; 6) Refleksi. Hasil kegiatan ini yaitu: 1) Pemangku kepentingan mampu merefleksikan capaian kemajuan pendidikan di daerahnya pada akhir semester; 2) Pemangku kepentingan memiliki rencana dan komitmen tindak lanjut untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan di daerahnya; 3) Pemangku kepentingan adalah pemangku kepentingan dengan berbagai peran dapat saling berinteraksi dan berkolaborasi Kata Kunci : Pemangku Kepentingan, Refleksi, Mimpi bersama, Kolaborasi, Sekolah Penggerak

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Kepadatan Keong Mas (Pomacea canaliculata) Yang Terdapat Diarea Persawahan Selgan Raya Kabupaten Mukomuko. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan area persawahan Kecamatan Selagan Raya Kabupaten Mukomuko pada bulan Maret- April 2018. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Metode survey langsung ke lokasi. dengan teknik pengambilan data menggunakan plot dan ukuran masing-masing plot 2 x 2 dengan jumlah plot 30, menggunakan metode Purposive Sampling kemudian dilakukan awetan basah untuk identifikasi di laboratorium. Dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan ditemukan Ordo Mesogastropoda, famili (Ampullaridae). Dari hasil penelitian yang didapatkan nilai kepadatan keong mas (Pomacea canaliculata) yaitu 3,27 individu/m2. Sedangkan Faktor ekologi yang meliputi suhu air dan derajat keasaman. Suhu air pada daerah persawahan berkisar antara 270C- 290C, sedangkan derajat keasaman (pH) air diperoleh data yaitu 6-7.Kata kunci: Kepadatan Keong Mas (Pomacea canaliculata)

Abstract

Penerapan kegiatan lesson study pada mata pelajaran IPA bertujuan untuk meningkatkan berpikir kritis belajar siswa di SMPN 21 Kota Bengkulu. Siswa yang terlibat dalam kegiatan ini sebanyak 28 orang. Tahap pelaksanaan kegiatan lesson study yaitu perencanaan (plan), pelaksanaan pembelajaran (Do) dan refleksi (See) yang dilaksanakan sebanyak 3x open lesson. Topik pembelajaran adalah 1). Hasil dari implementasi kegiatan lesson study menunjukkan adanya peningkatan berpikir kritis belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPa di SMPN 21 Kota Bengkulu. Kata kunci : Lesson study, IPA, berpikir kritis.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' scientific literacy skills in Biology learning through the application of cooperative learning models: Jigsaw, Group Investigation, and conventional methods. The method used was an experimental study with a posttest-only control group design. The results showed that there was no significant difference in scientific literacy skills among Grade X students of SMA Negeri 9 Kaur across the three learning models, based on ANOVA and LSD tests with a significance level of α > 0.05. The average scores of students’ scientific literacy were Jigsaw class = 35, Group Investigation class = 34.091, and conventional class = 30.909. In conclusion, the application of Jigsaw, Group Investigation, and conventional learning models did not result in a significant difference in students’ scientific literacy skills.   Keywords: Scientific Literacy Skills, Biology Learning

Abstract

Problem-Based Learning (PBL) is a learning model that focuses on solving real-world problems to foster students’ critical and analytical thinking skills. Meanwhile, Project-Based Learning (PjBL) emphasizes students’ involvement in completing projects that produce tangible products, thereby enhancing collaboration and creativity. This study aims to compare the effects of PBL and PjBL on students' cognitive learning outcomes in science education at SMP Negeri 2 Kota Bengkulu. A quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design was employed. The research sample consisted of 116 students, comprising 39 students in the PBL class, 38 in the PjBL class, and 39 in the control class. Data were collected using cognitive learning outcome tests and analyzed with the Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney U tests. The results revealed significant differences in students’ cognitive learning outcomes between the PBL and PjBL models. PBL was found to be more effective in enhancing students’ cognitive learning outcomes compared to PjBL. These findings suggest that problem-based learning can improve the effectiveness of science education.

Abstract

The research aims to find out whether there is an increase in creative thinking and interest in learning Biology using the Problem Based Learning model based on Blended Learning (PBL-BL). This type of research is Quasi Experimental with a None Equivalent (Pretest and Posttest) Control Group Design. The population was 116 students in class XI MIPA SMA Negeri 4 Bengkulu City, three sample classes, two experimental classes and one control class. The data collection method uses the Torrance creative thinking test and questionnaires to measure students' interest in learning Biology. Data were analyzed using the One Way Anova test. The results of the research show that there is an increase in students' creative thinking power and interest in learning by implementing the Problem Based Learning model based on Blended Learning (PBL-BL) in Biology learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the differences and effects of problem-based learning, project-based learning, and direct instruction models on students’ critical thinking and mathematical problem-solving abilities. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with a pretest–posttest control group design. The population of the study consisted of all eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 20 Rejang Lebong in the 2025/2026 academic year, totaling 83 students, and all were used as the sample through a total sampling technique. The research instruments were essay tests measuring critical thinking skills and mathematical problem-solving abilities, which had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted through normality tests, homogeneity tests, and one-way ANOVA with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that the average posttest score of critical thinking ability in the project-based learning class (86) was higher than that in the problem-based learning class (83) and the direct instruction class (76). In terms of problem-solving ability, the highest average score was obtained by the problem-based learning class (87), followed by the project-based learning class (86) and the direct instruction class (81). The ANOVA test results indicated a significance value of 0.05, demonstrating that there are significant differences and effects among the three learning models on both abilities. It can be concluded that problem-based learning and project-based learning models are more effective than direct instruction in improving students’ critical thinking and mathematical problem-solving abilities

Abstract

Pendidikan biologi pascasarjana menghadapi tantangan signifikan dalam mengintegrasikan konsep molekuler-genetika yang kompleks dengan aplikasi klinis nyata. Mahasiswa sering kali menguasai mekanisme molekuler secara teoritis, namun kesulitan menghubungkannya dengan skenario diagnostik dan terapeutik berbasis bukti, termasuk interpretasi profil genomik kanker payudara. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan dan mengevaluasi efektivitas implementasi Problem-Based Learning (PBL) berbasis genomik kanker payudara dalam meningkatkan penalaran klinis mahasiswa pascasarjana pendidikan biologi. Pendekatan penelitian menggunakan rancangan kuasi-eksperimental dengan desain pretest posttest pada 32 mahasiswa. Intervensi dirancang dalam lima fase: (1) presentasi kasus pasien kanker payudara dengan riwayat keluarga signifikan dan hasil Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS); (2) identifikasi masalah terkait diferensiasi mutasi germline vs somatik; (3) riset mandiri berbasis basis data genomik digital (OMIM, GeneReviews, ClinVar); (4) integrasi diagnostik dan implikasi terapi, termasuk sensitivitas terhadap PARP inhibitor; dan (5) sintesis serta refleksi berbasis diskusi kelompok. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada skor penalaran klinis (p < 0,01; d = 0,82), kemampuan membedakan jenis mutasi, dan kepercayaan diri dalam menggunakan sumber daya genetika medis. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa PBL berbasis genomik kanker payudara merupakan pendekatan pedagogis yang efektif untuk membangun literasi genomik dan kemampuan berpikir kritis calon pendidik biologi.
