Abstract

ABSTRAK Wilayah Kecamatan Kayu Aro sangat cocok untuk pengembangan stroberi. Stroberi lokal sudah mulai langka dan tanaman yang masih ada hidup liar. Pengetahuan masyarakat tentang pengembangan budidaya stroberi lokal terutama di kelompok mitra PPM masih minim, pengetahuan masyarakat tentang pertanian organik belum ada, tanaman tumbuh tanpa pemupukan dan pemeliharaan yang tepat. Wilayah ini juga berpotensi untuk pengembangan tanaman kopi, limbah kopi dari hasil panen tidak dikelola dengan baik sehingga mencemari udara dan lingkungan, pengetahuan dan penerapan MOL dan komlikoplusmol sebagai pupuk organik limbah kopi pada budidaya tanaman stroberi organik belum ada. Solusi yang dilakukan dalam kegiatan PPM adalah penerapan IPTEK melalui kegiatan diskusi, pelatihan, pendampingan, praktek dan demplot. Lokasi kegiatan di Desa Koto Periang Kecamatan Kayu Aro. Kegiatan yang diterapkan adalah : pengolahan limbah kopi menjadi komlikoplusmol, pengolahan limbah kopi menjadi MOL, pelatihan, praktek dan demplot budidaya tanaman stroberi lokal secara organik yang memanfaatkan MOL dan komlikoplusmol, penanaman dilakukan secara vertikultur untuk menata lingkungan dan kelestarian lingkungan. Kesimpulan kegiatan adalah : produk MOL sebagai dekomposer dan komlikoplusmol sebagai pupuk organik yang dimanfaatkan dalam pengembangan budidaya stroberi dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan, perkembangan dan produksi stroberi lokal yang sudah mulai langka, produk yang diperoleh adalah buah stroberi organik, adanya peningkatan penghasilan, kualitas dan kuantitas.

Abstract

Kopi robusta memiliki keunggulan yaitu resisten terhadap serangan hama dan penyakit serta tahan terhadap kondisi lingkungan yang tidak bersahabat. Oleh sebab itu, kopi robusta mempunyai peranan penting bagi mayoritas pekebun kopi Indonesia sehingga diperlukan upaya peningkatan produktivitas dengan teknologi budidaya yang tepat agar dapat mempertahankan kualitas dan meningkatkan nilainya. Upaya peningkatan produktivitas kopi salah satunya dengan cara melakukan perendaman benih dalam zat pengatur tumbuh giberelin (GA3). Manfaat dari perendaman zat pengatur tumbuh giberelin (GA3) yaitu zat tersebut dapat menekan aktivitas ABA yang terdapat di dalam benih sehingga meningkatkan aktivitas giberelin (GA3) endogen untuk mendorong perkecambahan.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui interaksi antara konsentrasi giberelin (GA3) dan lama perendaman terhadap perkecambahan benih kopi robusta tanpa kulit, serta mengetahui kombinasi konsentrasi giberelin (GA3) dan lama perendaman yang terbaik terhadap perkecambahan benih kopi robusta tanpa kulit.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Teaching and Research Farm Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Jambi, Jalan Lintas Sumatera Jambi – Muara Bulian Km. 15, Mendalo Indah, Kecamatan Jambi Luar Kota, Kabupaten Muaro Jambi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan September 2020 sampai bulan Desember 2020.Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) faktorial dengan dua faktor.Faktor pertama adalah konsentrasi giberelin (G) dengan 4 taraf perlakuan yaitu g0 (tanpa GA3), g1 (konsetrasi GA3 150 ppm), g2 (konsentrasi GA3 300 ppm), dan g3 (konsentrasi GA3 450 ppm).Faktor kedua adalah lama perendaman (W) dengan 4 taraf perlakuan yaitu w1 (perendaman 2 jam), w2 (perendaman 4 jam), w3 (perendaman 6 jam), dan w4 (perendaman 8 jam).Kedua faktor tersebut menghasilkan 16 kombinasi percobaan.Setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 3 kali sehingga diperoleh 48 unit percobaan.Setiap satu unit percobaan terdiri dari 20 benih untuk dikecambahkan.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa perlakuan konsentrasi giberelin (GA3) dan lama perendaman memiliki interaksi terhadap parameter indeks kecepatan perkecambahan.

Abstract

Environmental pollution from wastewater and soil contamination remains a critical global concern, with current treatment methods often facing limitations in scalability, cost, or environmental safety. Biochar, a carbon-rich material derived from biomass pyrolysis, has emerged as a sustainable adsorbent for heavy metals and organic pollutants. While its use in environmental remediation is well-established, the fate and reuse of spent biochar have received limited attention. This comprehensive review explores the untapped potential of used biochar, particularly for the removal of hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) from wastewater and its role in enhancing soil fertility. We critically analyze current practices, mechanisms of Cr(VI) removal using spent biochar, regeneration techniques, and field applications, while highlighting circular economy frameworks that promote resource efficiency. The study integrates empirical evidence from recent case studies and offers policy recommendations to support large-scale implementation. This work is the first to provide an integrative review of the reuse of spent biochar with a dual focus on wastewater treatment and soil enhancement, underpinned by a circular economy perspective. It addresses critical research gaps by evaluating regeneration techniques, post-use functionality, and practical field applications, thereby positioning spent biochar as a viable, low-cost, and eco-friendly alternative in environmental management systems.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance sustainable agriculture by implementing the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) through the utilization of rice straw compost among the Sedap Malam Women Farming Group in Koto Pudung, Kerinci. The method involves a participatory training approach focused on transforming rice straw waste into high-quality organic fertilizer, addressing the ecological drawbacks of conventional biomass burning. Results indicate that integrating rice straw compost into SRI framework significantly optimizes nutrient recycling and soil health restoration while reducing production costs by eliminating dependence on synthetic fertilizers. The novelty of this work lies in the localized synergy between organic waste management and SRI principles to empower women farmers in a rural context. Ultimately, this transition from traditional burning to organic composting serves as a strategic implication for mitigating air pollution and fostering a circular economy in regional rice production.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Soybean (Glycine max L.) is a strategic food commodity in Indonesia; however, its productivity remains relatively low compared to the yield potential of superior varieties. One contributing factor is the efficiency of nutrient uptake by the plants. Eco-enzyme, a fermented organic waste product, has the potential to act as a bioactivator and biostimulant in supporting plant growth. This study aimed to investigate the effect of eco-enzyme application and determine the optimal application method for soybean growth and yield. The research was conducted at the Teaching and Research Farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jambi, from October 2025 to January 2026, using a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with a single factor comprising five treatments: 0 mL L⁻¹ (P0), 10 mL L⁻¹ via soil drenching (P1), 20 mL L⁻¹ via soil drenching (P2), 7 mL L⁻¹ drenching + 3 mL L⁻¹ foliar spray (P3), and 14 mL L⁻¹ drenching + 6 mL L⁻¹ foliar spray (P4). Observed parameters included plant growth rate, relative growth rate, leaf area index, net assimilation rate, harvest index, 100-seed weight, number of pods per plant, and yield per hectare. The results indicated that eco-enzyme application did not significantly affect growth parameters, harvest index, or the number of pods per plant. However, the eco-enzyme did influence 100-seed weight. The best treatment was the application of 20 mL L⁻¹ eco-enzyme via soil drenching (P2), which resulted in a 100-seed weight of 21.27 g.   Keywords: eco-enzyme, soybean, growth, yield, ultisol   ABSTRAK Kedelai (Glycine max L.) merupakan komoditas pangan strategis di Indonesia, namun produktivitasnya masih relatif rendah dibandingkan dengan potensi hasil varietas unggul. Salah satu penyebabnya adalah efisiensi serapan hara oleh tanaman kedelai. Ekoenzim  merupakan produk fermentasi limbah organik yang berpotensi berperan sebagai bioaktivator dan biostimulan dalam mendukung pertumbuhan tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari pengaruh pemberian ekoenzim  serta memperoleh paket aplikasi terbaik terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman kedelai. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Teaching and Research Farm Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Jambi pada Oktober 2025–Januari 2026 menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) satu faktor dengan lima perlakuan, yaitu 0 mL L⁻¹  (P0), 10 mL L⁻¹ secara kocor (P1), 20 mL L⁻¹ secara kocor (P2), 7 mL L⁻¹ kocor + 3 mL L⁻¹ semprot (P3), dan 14 mL L⁻¹ kocor + 6 mL L⁻¹ semprot (P4). Parameter yang diamati meliputi laju pertumbuhan tanaman, laju pertumbuhan relatif, indeks luas daun, laju asimilasi bersih, indeks panen, bobot 100 biji, jumlah polong per tanaman, dan hasil produksi per hektar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian ekoenzim  tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap seluruh parameter pertumbuhan, indeks panen, dan jumlah polong per tanaman. Namun, ekoenzim  berpengaruh terhadap bobot 100 biji. Perlakuan terbaik diperoleh pada pemberian ekoenzim  20 mL L⁻¹ secara kocor (P2) dengan bobot 100 biji 21,27 g.   Kata kunci: ekoenzim, kedelai, pertumbuhan, hasil, ultisol

Abstract

The duku plant (Lansium domesticum Corr.) is a horticultural commodity originating from Southeast Asia. Duku Kumpeh is a national leading variety from Jambi Province which is seriously threatened due to the increasingly widespread attack of stem cancer. Tissue culture is an effort made to make plant parts (roots, shoots, other plant tissues) grow intact (perfect) in aseptic conditions. The research was carried out at the Biotechnology and Plant Breeding Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jambi. The research was carried out for 3 months from February to April 2026. This study employed a factorial randomised block design (RBD) comprising two factors: the first factor was the concentration of 2,4-D (0; 0.25; 0.5; 0.75; and 1 ppm) and the second factor was the concentration of BAP (0 and 1 ppm). A total of 10 treatments were obtained and replicated three times based on leaf groups or sections (base, middle and tip of the leaf), resulting in 30 experimental units. Each experimental unit consisted of 4 bottles, including 2 sample bottles, resulting in a total of 120 bottles, each containing a single leaf explant. The explants were cultured for 8 weeks after inoculation (MSK). The results of the study indicate that there is no interaction between the concentrations of the plant growth regulators 2,4-D and BAP and the variables of callus formation time and the percentage of callus-forming explants in Duku Kumpeh leaf explants. The application of various concentrations of 2,4-D alone was able to induce callus formation in Duku Kumpeh leaf explants, but BAP alone was not yet able to induce callus formation in Duku Kumpeh leaf explants. The application of 2,4-D at concentrations ranging from 0.25 to 1 ppm, combined with a BAP concentration of 1 ppm, is crucial for callus formation on Duku Kumpeh leaf explants.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Soybean (Glycine max L.) is one of the most important food crops in Indonesia and a major source of plant-based protein. However, its productivity remains relatively low, particularly on Ultisol soils, due to poor fertility and limited nutrient availability. Ecoenzyme has potential as a biostimulant and bioactivator by improving soil biological activity and enhancing nutrient uptake. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of different combinations of ecoenzyme application methods and concentrations on soybean growth and yield and to determine the most effective treatment. The experiment was conducted at the Teaching and Research Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Jambi, from December 2025 to February 2026 using a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with one factor consisting of five treatments: no ecoenzyme (0 mL L⁻¹), 10 mL L⁻¹ soil drenching, 20 mL L⁻¹ soil drenching, 7 mL L⁻¹ soil drenching combined with 3 mL L⁻¹ foliar spray, and 14 mL L⁻¹ soil drenching combined with 6 mL L⁻¹ foliar spray. Each treatment was replicated five times. Observed variables included plant height, flowering age, number of primary branches, number of pods per plant, filled pods, empty pods, damaged seeds, 100-seed weight, seed yield per plant, and yield per hectare. Ecoenzyme treatments significantly affected plant height, number of damaged seeds, and 100-seed weight but had no significant effect on flowering age, primary branches, pod number, filled and empty pods, seed yield per plant, or yield per hectare. Soil drenching with 20 mL L⁻¹ ecoenzyme produced the highest 100-seed weight (21.27 g) and yield (3.58 t ha⁻¹), indicating that this treatment is the most effective for improving soybean productivity on Ultisol soils.   Keywords: application method, concentration, ecoenzyme, growth and yield, soybean   ABSTRAK Kedelai (Glycine max L.) merupakan salah satu komoditas pangan strategis di Indonesia yang berperan sebagai sumber protein nabati. Produktivitas kedelai masih relatif rendah, terutama pada lahan Ultisol yang memiliki tingkat kesuburan rendah dan ketersediaan unsur hara terbatas. Ecoenzym berpotensi dimanfaatkan sebagai biostimulan dan bioaktivator yang mampu meningkatkan aktivitas biologis tanah serta efisiensi penyerapan unsur hara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari pengaruh kombinasi cara aplikasi dan konsentrasi ecoenzym terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman kedelai serta memperoleh perlakuan yang paling efektif. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Teaching and Research Farm Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Jambi pada Desember 2025 hingga Februari 2026 menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan satu faktor berupa kombinasi cara aplikasi dan konsentrasi ecoenzym yang terdiri atas lima taraf, yaitu tanpa ecoenzym (0 mL L⁻¹), 10 mL L⁻¹ dikocor, 20 mL L⁻¹ dikocor, 7 mL L⁻¹ dikocor + 3 mL L⁻¹ disemprot, dan 14 mL L⁻¹ dikocor + 6 mL L⁻¹ disemprot. Setiap perlakuan diulang lima kali. Variabel yang diamati meliputi tinggi tanaman, umur berbunga, jumlah cabang primer, jumlah polong per tanaman, jumlah polong berisi, jumlah polong hampa, jumlah biji rusak, bobot 100 biji, hasil per tanaman, dan hasil per hektar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi cara aplikasi dan konsentrasi ecoenzym berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman, jumlah biji rusak, dan bobot 100 biji, tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap variabel lainnya. Perlakuan ecoenzyme 20 mL L⁻¹ melalui pengocoran memberikan respons terbaik dengan bobot 100 biji tertinggi sebesar 21,27 g dan hasil 3,58 ton ha⁻¹, sehingga direkomendasikan untuk meningkatkan produktivitas kedelai pada lahan Ultisol.   Kata kunci: cara aplikasi, ecoenzym, kedelai, konsentrasi, pertumbuhan dan hasil
