Abstract

After the economic crisis in 1997, motorcycles become a popular transport mode in Indonesian cities. However this condition leads to large number of violation and accident rate. This study tried to discuss howthis problem started and what possible measure can be taken to solve the problems, mainly based on literaturereview. The traffic data used were compiled from the data provided by PT Pamintori Cipta. Interview surveywas conducted to find people perception of motorcycles issues. The conclusion suggests that there is a needof further comprehensive study to find out what condition that makes motorcyclists voluntary return to usepublic transport and social engineering and intensive training program should be implemented for youngergeneration to improve traffic condition in Jakarta. Keywords : motorcycle violation, traffic safety, and public transport.

Abstract

In most traffic projects, speed survey is required. If the speed survey uses detector, all data might be obtained. Otherwise a sampling strategy needs to be introduced. To ensure the collection of representative sample of speeds there were several sampling options, e.g. collecting sample every regular interval. In this paper three regular intervals were tested, i.e. 30 seconds, 1 minute and 2 minutes 30 seconds. Travel time data was collected in morning, mid day, and afternoon periods in a two-lanes two-ways underpass in Jakarta. Travel speeds were calculated by dividing light vehicle travel times with the underpass length. Space mean speeds were calculated as a light vehicle travel mean speeds/ 5 minutes. The observation of each light vehicle travel times (to get each light vehicle travel speeds) was conducted for the first 15 minutes of three observation periods. More frequent speed sample collection provides higher accuracy. Keywords: space mean speed, sampling strategy, regular interval sampling

Abstract

A comprehensive knowledge regarding vehicle distribution can be utilized to adjust vehicle distribution coefficient (C) on the Manual of Indonesian Flexible Pavement Design (SKBI-2.3.26.1987). This paper discusses the effect of city characteristics, lane configuration, and flow level on vehicle distribution in urban road lanes. Three cities were observed, i.e. Mataram, Bandung, and Surabaya. Ten road links were observedwhich consist of six 4 lanes-2 ways and four 6 lanes-2 ways divided roads. Surveys were carried out for 24 hours of a normal working day. Traffic counts were grouped every 15 minutes per direction, per lane for 3 vehicle types. i.e. light vehicle, heavy vehicle, and motorcycle. T-test of mean differences was used as a technique for analysis. The results show that the design lane was the most right lane and the values of C in Mataram, Bandung, and Surabaya were higher than those on the Manual. Keywords: vehicle distribution coeeficient, flexible pavement design

Abstract

In Indonesian cities, usually a car owner also own a motorcycle to avoid congestion. This cause many problem such as unskilled rider, traffic violation, aggressive behaviour etc. Instruments to assess motorcycle rider behaviour were developed  in England, Iran, Turkey, China and Australia. Putranto and Anjaya (2014) propose Indonesian Motorcycle Rider Behaviour Questionnaire (MRBQ) as MRBQ was prove to be sensitive to local culture and social system. This paper is further development of Indonesian MRBQ. Previously the instrument was prepared without strong theoritical basis. In this present paper the instrument was adjustment of Persian MRBQ. After an FGD with experts in motorcycle rider behaviour only 42 items from 48 items in Persian MRBQ were used in in this study. All valid and reliable items were anlysed to compare wheter there are different behaviour between different gender, age, whealth level, job, ethnicity, etc. Respondents were lecturers and employees of Tarumanagara University.

Abstract

Toll roads are important and affect people's lives. This can be seen by the growth of new industrial areas, which means an increase in heavy vehicles passing through toll roads to enter industrial areas, including overloaded vehicles. JORR Toll Road Section E makes it possible for overloaded vehicles to pass to industrial areas in the Cakung area. Vehicles with more weight are likely to damage the road and reduce the life of plans that have been designed by previous planners. The aim of this research is to determine the impact of overloading on the planned life of the JORR E3 (Cakung-Cilincing) toll road. Based on the overload calculation, the equivalent figure is 12,351,436, causing a decrease in the planned life of the road by 6.375% or 2.55 years, the remaining 15 year planned life in 2038 Based on the results of these calculations, it can be concluded that excess weight causes a decrease in the design life of the road and has an impact on toll road pavement.

Abstract

The rapid growth of population and motor vehicles in Indonesia has led to a ratio of 1.8:1 between population and vehicle ownership, contributing to poor air quality in Jakarta. Despite efforts to promote public transportation, such as the LRT Jabodebek system, challenges persist due to the prevalence of private vehicles. This research aims to evaluate customer satisfaction and loyalty towards LRT services in DKI Jakarta. Employing a quantitative approach, a literature review methodology was used to establish theoretical foundations, organize the literature, conduct analysis, and draw conclusions. Data collection involved distributing surveys using a 4-Point Likert Scale via online platforms and at Jakarta LRT stations. Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) was employed to analyze the collected data, investigating the relationships between service quality, customer satisfaction, and loyalty. The findings indicate that LRT service quality significantly impacts customer satisfaction, explaining 70.2% of the variance in satisfaction. Furthermore, customer satisfaction moderately affects loyalty, with 64.1% of the variance in loyalty explained by service quality and customer satisfaction. Therefore, enhancing LRT service quality is crucial for sustaining customer satisfaction and fostering greater customer loyalty.
