Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic disease that is progressive and has a serious impact on the body's metabolic system. The PLISSIT model stands for four levels of intervention, namely Permission, Limited Information, Specific Suggestions, and Intensive Therapy. This study aims to determine the effect of sexual education with the PLISSIT method in reducing sexual function disorders in type 2 DM patients at the Limboto Health Center. The research method is using a quasi-experimental approach. The design used is a one group pretest-posttest design. The sample was taken using a non-probability sampling technique with a purposive sampling technique from a total population of 398 respondents to 44 respondents. The research instrument using Sexual Education with the PLISSIT Method was carried out according to SOP procedures and used IIEF and FSFI Questionnaires to measure the level of sexual disorders in men and women. The results showed that there was a statistically significant difference between the Pre FSFI and Post FSFI scores with a Z value of -5.061 and a significance value (p-value) of 0.000. Because the p value < 0.05, the Pre IIEF and Post IIEF p values are .000, where p < ? (0.05) is obtained, so it is concluded that H1 is accepted, meaning that there is an Effect of Sexual Education with the PLISSIT Method on Sexual Function Disorders in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Patients at Limboto Health Center. This research is expected to integrate sexual education of the PLISSIT method in the routine services of type 2 DM patients, especially in health education sessions and chronic disease clinics.

Abstract

Sudden cardiac arrest is a serious health threat in long-distance running that requires rapid treatment through Basic Life Assistance or BHD to increase the chances of safety of the victim. However, runners' knowledge of the procedure is often not optimal, so structured education is needed. This study aims to analyze the influence of BHD education on the level of knowledge of long-distance runners in the RIOT Gorontalo community. This research method uses a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The population of this study is Long Distance Runners in the RIOT Gorontalo Community, totaling 120 respondents. The sample was mixed with the purposive sampling technique totaling 55 respondents who were given interventions in the form of education using lecture methods and simulations measured through questionnaires. The data analysis of this study used the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test. The results showed that before the intervention, the majority of respondents had sufficient category knowledge as much as 56.4%, but after being given education, there was a significant increase where 52.7% of respondents reached the good category. Statistical results showed a p-value of less than 0.001 (<0.05) which proved the very significant influence of BHD education on improving runners' knowledge. These findings are expected to be the foundation for the running sports community in developing routine safety training programs to improve the preparedness of community members in dealing with cardiac emergencies on the running track.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the relationship between self-care and the risk of peripheral neuropathy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at the Tilongkabila Health Center. This type of research is quantitative using a correlational design, which aims to find out whether there is a relationship between two or more variables with the approach used, namely cross-sectional. Based on the results of the study, obtained from 74 respondents, it shows that most of the respondents have good self-care, namely 50 respondents (67.6%), followed by respondents with sufficient self-care as many as 11 respondents (14.9%), and less self-care as many as 13 respondents (17.6%). The results of neuropathy screening examination using monofilament found that as many as 41 respondents (55.4%) were not at risk of developing peripheral neuropathy, while 33 respondents (44.6%) were at risk of peripheral neuropathy. There was a statistically significant relationship between self-care based on Orem's theory and the risk of peripheral neuropathy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at the Tilongkabila Health Center, with a p-value of 0.043 (p < 0.05).

Abstract

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic disease that has the potential to cause various complications, one of which is diabetic foot ulcers which can be prevented through proper foot care. However, the low level of knowledge of people with type 2 diabetes mellitus about foot care is still a problem in primary health services. Education using the foot care demonstration method is one of the effective promotive and preventive efforts to increase the knowledge of people with diabetes mellitus related to foot care. This study aims to determine the effect of foot care demonstration education on the knowledge of patients with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus at the Tilongkabila Health Center. This research uses a design Quasi Experiment with the One group pre-post test design. A sample of 33 respondents was selected using the purposive sampling. The research instrument used a foot care knowledge questionnaire adapted from Munali (2019). Data analysis using tests Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results showed that there was an increase in respondents' knowledge after the intervention with a p-value = 0.000 (p < 0.05), which means that there is a significant difference in knowledge between before and after education. Demonstration education is effective in increasing respondents' knowledge because it involves direct observation of foot care practices, using simple aids that are easy to find, and delivered in language that suits the respondent's condition, thus facilitating understanding and strengthening the respondents' memory of the material provided.
