Abstract

Swim bladders of catfish contain high protein, therefore it is can be used as a raw material for collagen. The study aims to determine the chemical characteristics of swim bladders, the pretreatment of non-collagen, extraction of collagen dissolves acid and to evaluate the characteristics of collagen. The method of this study is KOH pretreatment with a concentration of 0,05; 0,1; and 0,15 for 12 hours. The extraction process is done by soaking the sample in a solution of acetic acid with a concentration of 0,25; 0,5 and 0,75 M (ratio 1:10; b/v) and extraction time for 24; 48; and 72 hours at 4oC. The experimental design used for alkaline and acetic acid pretreatment were factorial completely randomized design. The result showed that the protein content of swim bladder was 85,26% (db), the profile of amino acids were dominated by three amino acids namely glycine (56,85 mg/g), prolyne (31,03 mg/g), and alanyne (23,85 mg/g). Using 0,05 M KOH for 8 h was selected as the best pretreatment method for collagen extraction. Extraction method using 0,50 M acetic for 48 h resulted he best collagen which revealed the existence of a triple helix structure and had Tg 84oC.

Abstract

The study aimed to analyze the effect of frozen minced fish storage and washing cycle to the quality of surimi and kamaboko catfish (Pangasius sp). The experimental design used was randomized compact design with treatment of storage time (0,14,28) day and washing cycle treatment (1,2,3, and 4). The results showed that the storage time and washing frequency significantly affect the expressible water, while not significant effect on white duct, folding test and teeth cutting test. The highest values of surimi and kamaboko catfish from each treatment are whiteness test at surimi of 49,27% and 63.55% at kamaboko, folding test with value 7, teeth cutting test 7 and expressible water have the highest value of 35 at kamaboko and has a TVBN value which is still below the decay threshold, which is in the range of 11.295-12.085 mg N/100 g.

Abstract

Lake Batur has the potential to be a fishery resource that has not been explored and even very little attention from the community and the government so that this resource can be developed optimally. The current condition of lake Batur waters tends to change either naturally or annually or changes due to community activities around the lake. This study aims to determine the feasibility of lake Batur waters as a fish farming business field for the freshwater floating net cage system. Water samples to be tested for water quality and plankton were obtained directly at Lake Batur. The results of plankton abundance at each station were received, at station I (2.070 ind/l), station II (1.477 ind/l), station III (6.975 ind/l), and station IV (2.617 ind/l), station V (2.902 ind/l). The parameters observed are water quality parameters in the form of brightness, temperature, pH, DO, Nitrates, Nitrites, and plankton abundance in Lake Batur Kintamani, Bangli. The results of research on the quality parameters at each station showed different values. The brightness parameters at 5 stations have values in the range of 246-480 cm, temperatures 26-28.3 °C, pH 7.5-8.3, DO 7.1-8.3 mg/L, Nitrates 0.36-0.66 ppm, and Nitrites 0.02-0.04. brightness.

Abstract

Earthquake of magnitude 9,1-9,3 SR followed by the tsunami caused a damage of mangrove ecosystems and infrastructure in almost all coastal areas of Aceh Province. In this study the data taken are the density, frequency,acover, important value index, diversity index, equitability index, dominance index.and mitigation efforts conducted.by direct interview. The results of this study showed that the species found were Rhizophora apiculata, Rhizophora mucronata, Bruguiera gymnorizha, Ceriops tagal, Avicennia marina, Xylocarpus granatum, Lumnitzera littorea and.Sonneratia caseolaris. Of all mangrove species that found, the type that dominates in almost all stations is Rhizophora apiculata. Mitigation strategy in reducing tsunami threat by maintaining mangrove ecosystem, addition of mangrove ecosystem area and habitat and increasing density. The density used is 1.5 x 1.5 meter and 1 x 1 meter. The local agency has rehabilitated approximately 4,076.25 Ha of mangrove forest area that was once carried by tsunami waves.

Abstract

Kondisi kualitas air harus sesuai bagi kehidupan ikan karena dapat mempengaruhi produksi budidaya. Suhu air sangat mempengaruhi laju pertumbuhan, laju metabolisme ikan dan nafsu makan ikan bandeng serta kelarutan oksigen dalam air. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil terbaik penggunaan filter berbeda terhadap pertumbuhan ikan bandeng serta mengetahui pengaruh volume filter terhadap kualitas air media budidaya. Design dari penelitian ini adalah eksperimen dengan melakukan pengujian pada media filter dengan volume setiap media filter pada perlakuan pertama (15.000 cm3) dan perlakuan kedua (10.000 cm3). Sampel total pada penelitian ini adalah 270 ekor ikan bandeng. Hasil dari penelitian ini yakni kualitas air yang dipakai oleh peneliti termasuk kategori cukup baik dengan suhu yang baik untuk ikan bandeng adalah 27 - 30ºC dan salinitas yang baik untuk pertumbuhan ikan bandeng adalah 26-30 ppt untuk pH air juga telah memenuhi range nilai yang ditentukan yaitu 7 – 8. Pengaruh volume filter pada pertumbuhan ikan dengan menggunakan uji ANOVA dan hasil yang didapatkan yakni (sig. 0.028<0.05) bahwa volume filter mempengaruhi pertumbuhan ikan bandeng.

Abstract

White Leg shrimp have a non-specific immune response that can be seen in granular cells and hyaline cells. To support an excellent white-leg shrimp immune response, providing an immunostimulant in the form of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) is necessary. This research activity aims to determine the percentage of granular and hyaline cells in white-leg shrimp and the immune response of white-leg shrimp. This research was carried out in April 2022 at PT. Emas Sempurna Anugrah, Bangka Belitung. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. There are five ponds studied with different pond sizes and stocking densities. The results showed that the percentage of granular cells is higher than hyaline cells, with an average percentage of granular cells is 57.27%, while the average percentage of hyaline cells is 42.73%. The average THC value is 5,730,000 cells/ml, indicating that the white-leg shrimp's immune response is good but has fluctuating value. The white-leg shrimp's immune response in the pond shows inconsistent results due to external factors such as water quality and bad weather.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to identify heavy metals in Jembrana waters and analyze water quality to determine water fertility. This study used direct observation and quantitative descriptive. Primary production, biological chemical physical parameters, and heavy metal data were collected in this study. The results showed that Jembrana waters had the highest primary productivity value of 1051.01 mgC/m3/day and the lowest value of 112.61 mgC/m3/day. Water quality in Jembrana is considered quite good. The results of this study showed that the water conditions at the observation site remained stable and within the tolerance limits for marine biota. This is due to the fact that during the sampling period, there was no significant activity from fishermen and local residents. Observations of heavy metals lead and cadmium at the study site showed that some stations exhibited values that exceeded the threshold, but these values were still acceptable for the waters. The heavy metal levels at the stations exceeded the threshold due to sewage effluents from companies and ships in the local harbor.

Abstract

Geographically, Buleleng Regency in North Bali has high potential coastal resources, with a coastline length reaching 157.05 km. Bondalem Village is in Tejakula District, Buleleng Regency, in the northern part of the Island of the Gods. The condition of the coral reefs in the Bondalem Waters area is categorized as very good, with coral reef cover percentages ranging from 65.93% to 81.33%. Besides having potential for diving tourism, Bondalem Village also boasts cultural attractions and local artistic wisdom. The purpose of this research is to identify the minatourism potential in Bondalem Village from the social aspect of the community. This research uses a descriptive quantitative method. The research process begins with the preparation of a proposal and the drafting of a questionnaire, followed by data collection, data processing, and data testing before drawing conclusions from the research activities. Based on research conducted on the potential of minatourism from the social aspect of the community in Bondalem Village, Buleleng, Bali, it is concluded that Bondalem Village in North Bali, specifically in Buleleng Regency, has minatourism potential that can be developed based on cultural, economic, and environmental assessments. The analysis of cultural, economic, and environmental aspects influencing minatourism potential, based on interviews with respondents, yielded scores of 3.253, 3.256, and 3.220, respectively, indicating that respondents support the development of minatourism potential in Bondalem Village from these aspects. This research is expected to provide useful input for various parties, especially the government, the Bondalem Village authorities, and researchers, to jointly support sustainable minatourism development.

Abstract

Permintaan pasar akan ikan badut jenis Amphiprion percula di dalam maupun luar negeri terus mengalami peningkatan sehingga aktivitas budidaya ikan badut harus dikelola dengan baik guna meningkatkan produktivitas ikan badut tetap stabil. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama 90 hari dengan menggunakan benih ikan badut berukuran 3-3,3 cm dengan berat 0,42-0,97 g untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari pemberian jenis pakan yang berbeda terhadap tingkat pertumbuhan dan sintasan benih. Ikan badut yang dipakai sebanyak 15 ekor ikan badut/akuarium. Jenis rancangan penelitian yang digunakan yaitu Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), tiga perlakuan pakan dengan tiga kali ulangan yang meliputi perlakuan A (pakan artemia), perlakuan B (kombinasi pakan artemia dan pelet komersial Otohime (PK1) ukuran 5/8), serta perlakuan C (kombinasi pakan artemia dan pelet komersial NRD (PK2) ukuran 5/8). Hasil uji One Way Anova diperoleh hasil nilai probabilitas p (0,000) < α (0,05) yang menunjukkan adanya perbedaan nyata nilai rata-rata penambahan panjang ikan badut antara perlakuan A (0,76 cm), B (1,14 cm), dan C (0,91 cm). Penambahan panjang ikan badut tertinggi terdapat pada perlakuan B (kombinasi artemia dan PK1 5/8) dengan nilai panjang 1,14 cm. Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan perbedaan nyata (p<0,05) pada sintasan dan penambahan berat ikan antara perlakuan A dengan perlakuan B maupun C, namun antara dua perlakuan yaitu perlakuan B dengan perlakuan C tidak terdapat perbedaan nyata (p>0,05). Penambahan berat ikan badut perlakuan A, B, dan C secara berturut-turut yaitu 0,21 g, 0,53 g, dan 0,48 g dengan persentase sintasan secara berturut-turut yaitu 64,53%, 93,30%, dan 86,63%. Kata Kunci : ikan badut, artemia, pakan komersial, tingkat pertumbuhan, sintasan.

Abstract

Celiac merupakan salah satu penyakit yang membuat penderitanya tidak dapat mencerna makanan yang mengandung gluten. Penderita Celiac mengganti dengan bahan non-gluten, tetapi pilihan menu yang tersedia masih terbatas, terutama makanan ringan. Dalam penelitian ini, makanan ringan dalam bentuk cookies diformulasikan dari tepung singkong termodifikasi berbasis lokal dan tepung tulang ikan tongkol (Euthynnus affinis). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis karakterisasi secara kimia dan sensori cookies non-gluten dengan subtitusi tepung tulang ikan tongkol. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah metode eksperimental dengan dua perlakuan, yaitu cookies non-gluten kontrol dan cookies non-gluten dengan subtitisi tepung tulang ikan tongkol yang berperan sebagai subyek penelitian. Kedua cookies non-gluten diuji kimia secara proksimat yang dianalisis menggunakan one-way Anova dan uji sensori menggunakan uji hedonik oleh panelis tidak terlatih. Sebanyak 6% tepung tulang ikan tongkol yang ditambahkan pada cookies non-gluten memberikan kadar abu, protein, dan lemak yang lebih tinggi, namun kadar air dan karbohidrat yang lebih rendah dibandingkan cookies non-gluten kontrol. Hasil sensori menunjukkan bahwa cookies non-gluten dengan penambahan tepung tulang ikan tongkol memiliki tingkat penerimaan paling tinggi berturut-turut, yaitu warna, tekstur, aroma, keseluruhan, dan rasa. Sehingga, cookies non-gluten dengan subtitusi tepung tulang ikan tongkol dapat menjadi makanan ringan alternatif bagi penderita Celiac. Lebih lanjut, pemanfaatan singkong sebagai bahan baku utama merupakan salah satu upaya dalam mengatasi ketergantungan impor gandum, serta subtitusi tepung tulang ikan tongkol menjadi bentuk olahan hasil samping perikanan.
