Abstract

This research aims to clarify how agritourism functions within environmental management in Tenganan, Karangasem. Customary environmental zoning primarily serves as a private realm for local cultural practices. Nonetheless, it has been shown that agritourism is incorporated into the zoning of the Tenganan traditional environment. The enquiries are 1) What are the attributes of Tenganan's traditional environmental management practices in Karangasem?; 2) What are the features of agritourism activities in the stewardship of Tenganan's customary environment in Karangasem ?; and 3) Is there cultural tolerance linked to agritourism activities within Tenganan's customary environmet in Karangasem? This study has been conducted utilising qualitative methodologies. Primary data was obtained by observation. Secondary data was acquired through a literature review. All data was analysed qualitatively-interpretatively with semiotics and a decolonization tourism approach. All data were subjected to qualitative analysis utilising a decolonizing tourism approach. The research findings indicate: 1) The Tenganan traditional environment in Karangasem is governed by cultural heritage, natural resources, and the residential areas of the Tenganan community; 2) Walking activities along designated routes amidst the natural ambience of plantations, agriculture, and forests exemplify agritourism within the Tenganan traditional environment; 3) Cultural tolerance exists within the Tenganan traditional environment regarding agritourism activities.

Abstract

This paper examines the perceptions of tourism workers in Nusa Dua, Bali, regarding the importance of using English in the tourism industry. The study aims to explore the workers' perceptions and self-perceptions of English language skills and their relevance to the industry. A descriptive research design with a quantitative approach was utilized, and data were collected through questionnaires. The findings reveal that the participants hold positive self-perceptions and perceptions toward English language skills, strongly agreeing on the importance of English in their work. They recognize the significance of good listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in English, as well as a broad vocabulary related to the industry. The study provides insights into the participants' background characteristics, including gender, age, education, departmental affiliation, and working experience. Overall, this research contributes to the understanding of the importance of English proficiency in the tourism industry, informing language training programs and human resource practices. The findings emphasize the participants' awareness of the role of English in effective communication, customer service, and career advancement, highlighting the need for language skills in the industry. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi optimalisasi dana hibah pariwisata berupa bantuan Dukungan Pengembangan Usaha Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif (DPUP) kepada desa wisata di Indonesia pada tahun 2024 dalam meningkatkan industri pariwisata di Indonesia. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah kajian yang relevan dengan topik penelitian. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini berupa pengamatan data. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah penyajian data, reduksi data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa potensi optimalisasi dana hibah pariwisata dalam meningkatkan industri pariwisata di Indonesia terdiri dari (1) Pemberian dana hibah pariwisata kepada desa wisata yang mendukung percepatan pertumbuhan ekonomi Indonesia; (2) Terjadi peningkatan keterlibatan masyarakat dalam mengelola dana hibah pariwisata; dan (3) Penguatan desa wisata melalui pemanfaatan dana hibah pariwisata. Dana Hibah tersebut dapat dioptimalisasikan untuk pengembangan pariwisata dan ekonomi kreatif yakni pengembangan sumber daya manusia, peningkatan produk-produk ekonomi kreatif, peningkatan destinasi, sehingga kunjungan wisatawan lebih berkualitas dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Hotel W Bali Seminyak merupakan salah satu hotel bintang lima di Bali yang berdiri pada tahun 2011. Pemasukan yang diperoleh hotel tersebut juga sangat besar, sehingga mampu menggaji karyawannya bahkan melebihi standar Upah Minimum Kabupaten (UMK) yang diterapkan pemerintah kota Badung. Khususnya pada service di Hotel W Bali Seminyak, melebihi gaji yang diterima oleh karyawannya. Kenyataan yang terjadi adalah banyak karyawan yang mengundurkan diri atau resign maupun pindah hotel. Rata – rata alasan yang diberikan karyawan kepada pihak HRD yaitu karena beban kerja yang terlalu tinggi sehingga membuat karyawan untuk memilih pindah dari hotel W Bali Seminyak dan memilih untuk membuka bisnis sendiri ataupun pindah ke hotel lain. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh beban kerja dan lingkungan kerja terhadap kinerja karyawan pada Hotel W Bali Seminyak. Untuk menemukan jawaban atas tujuan penelitian ini, maka digunakan pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif asosiatif korelatif dengan alat analisis SPSS versi 26. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa beban kerja berpengaruh positif terhadap kinerja karyawan pada Hotel W Bali Seminyak, lingkungan kerja memberikan pengaruh yang positif terhadap kinerja karyawan pada Hotel W Bali Seminyak. Demikian juga Beban kerja dan lingkungan kerja secara bersama-sama berpengaruh positif terhadap kinerja karyawan pada Hotel W Bali Seminyak. Berdasarkan temuan dalam penelitian ini, diharapkan Hotel W Bali Seminyak lebih memperhatikan peralatan yang digunakan pada karyawan agar beban kerja dan lingkungan kerja menjadi lebih baik sehingga dapat meningkatkan kinerja karyawan. Hotel W Bali Seminyak is a five-star hotel in Bali which was founded in 2011. The income earned by the hotel is also very large, so that it is able to pay its employees even more than the District Minimum Wage (UMK) standard applied by the Badung city government. Especially the service at Hotel W Bali Seminyak, exceeds the salary received by its employees. The reality is that many employees have resigned or moved to hotels. The average reason given by employees to HRD was because the workload was too high, which made employees choose to move from the W Bali Seminyak hotel and choose to open their own business or move to another hotel. This study aims to determine the effect of workload and work environment on employee performance at Hotel W Bali Seminyak. To find answers to the objectives of this study, a correlative associative quantitative research approach was used with the SPSS version 26 analysis tool. The results found that workload had a positive effect on employee performance at Hotel W Bali Seminyak, the work environment had a positive influence on employee performance at Hotel W Bali Seminyak. Likewise workload and work environment together have a positive effect on employee performance at Hotel W Bali Seminyak. Based on the findings in this study, it is hoped that Hotel W Bali Seminyak will pay more attention to the equipment used by employees so that the workload and work environment become better so as to improve employee performance.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan strategi pemasaran strategi alternatif yang harus dilakukan pada media sosial Instagram Hotel Canggu Dream Village. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Maret-Juni 2023 dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dan menggunakan metode pengumpulan data berupa kuesioner, wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah dalam pengelolaan Instagram, hotel menggunakan strategi bauran pemasaran advertising, personal selling, sales promotion, public relation, dan direct marketing. Selanjutnya dilakukan analisis menggunakan metode SWOT. Adapun dari hasil analisis ini didapatkan hasil berupa posisi penggunaan Instragram sebagai media pemasaran Hotel Canggu Dream Village terletak pada kuadran I, yaitu agresif. Posisi ini memiliki arti bahwa strategi pemasaran hotel berada pada situasi yang menguntungkan karena dapat memanfaatkan kekuatan dan peluang. Adapun strategi alternatif yang dapat dilakukan oleh hotel adalah mengadakan event melalui Instagram dengan lebih sering, rutin mengupdate dan mengupload fasilitas terbaru, melakukan perekrutan tenaga kerja yang handal dan sudah berpengalaman untuk memegang social media marketing. Untuk saat ini hotel juga harus dapat memanfaatkan fitur gratis yang ada pada Instagram dengan lebih maksimal dan mulai menyiapkan budget untuk fitur berbayar, serta membeli sarana prasarana pendukung seperti kamera, microphone, lighting.This study aims to determine the implementation of alternative marketing strategies that must be carried out on Instagram Hotel Canggu Dream Village social media. This research was conducted in March-June 2023 with a qualitative descriptive research type and used data collection methods in the form of questionnaires, interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study are that in managing Instagram, hotels use advertising, personal selling, sales promotion, public relations, and direct marketing marketing mix strategies. Furthermore, an analysis was carried out using the SWOT method. As for the results of this analysis, the results obtained are the position of using Instragram as a marketing medium for Hotel Canggu Dream Village which is located in quadrant I, which is aggressive. This position means that the hotel's marketing strategy is in a favorable situation because it can take advantage of strengths and opportunities. The alternative strategies that can be carried out by hotels are holding events via Instagram more frequently, regularly updating and uploading the latest facilities, recruiting reliable and experienced workforce to handle social media marketing. For now, hotels must also be able to take full advantage of the free features available on Instagram and start preparing a budget for paid features, as well as buying supporting infrastructure such as cameras, microphones, lighting.

Abstract

Sustainable Solutions: Greenhost Leading the Industrial Day 6.0 Charge" aims to promote sustainability in the accommodation sector, particularly through the implementation of green practices in hotels and other lodgings. This article presents the methodology and outcomes of a community engagement initiative conducted at the International Institute of Tourism and Business. Through collaborative efforts, including needs assessment, joint action planning, training sessions, environmental assessments, and program development, the project aimed to enhance awareness and adoption of eco-friendly practices. Key findings highlight the importance of collaboration, tailored training, and targeted environmental assessments in advancing sustainability goals in the accommodation industry.
