Abstract

The football competition period lasts 6-9 months on an annual training program. Long competitions certainly result in physical and mental fatigue in athletes. In the theory of training periodization, a period of rest after the end of the competition (transition period) gives athletes the opportunity to rest and psychic relaxation while maintaining optimal physical condition. This paper seeks to review the literature relevant to the concepts and practices in the transition period. Discussion covers two main things: the facts that occur during the transition period and exercises that athletes need to do during the transition period. The results of this discussion aim to make athletes and coaches understand the things that occur during the transition period and what exercise practices, such as what athletes need to do to prevent the potential detraining syndrome. So that in the preparation period of the new season, the athlete's performance level is in good condition.

Abstract

This study aims to compile a physical fitness test for mild intellectual disability, test the suitability of the test in terms of suitability, convenience, and safety. The developed tests consist of a bench up and down test, a lying down test, a sitting test and a body mass index test.  The stages of development carried out include planning stage, preparation stage, trial, evaluation and revision, and final product. The experimental subjects in this study were children with mild intellectual disabilities aged 13-15 years, totaling 148 people who were divided into limited trial subjects, expanded trial subjects, and validity and reliability test subjects. Validity data analysis technique with two tests using the composite score method and using Doolittle analysis, and reliability data analysis using alpha coefficient analysis. Based on the results of the study, a set of tests was obtained to measure the physical fitness of persons with mild intellectual disabilities with very high validity and reliability tests, where the validity of the test for boys is 0.968 and for girls is 0.914. While the test reliability value for men is 0.896 and for women is 0.883. The physical fitness test was developed according to the characteristics of mild mental retardation which included components on cardiovascular endurance, muscle strength and endurance, flexibility, and body composition.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to test the content validity of the men's U21 football physical test. This research is a quantitative descriptive research with survey techniques using the delphy method. The sample in this study consisted of 7 experts, namely 2 physical condition experts, 2 football game experts, 2 soccer coaches, and 1 analyzer of the input results of each expert. A self design rubric used as an instrument in this study. The data analysis technique in this study uses the aiken-v formula. The finding showed the men's U21 football physical test has high content   validity based on expert’s mutual agreement. The experts validation showed high validity (r=1.0) for BMI test to measure body composition and Sit and Reach test to measure flexibility. 30 meter sprint test for speed, leg and back dynamometer test to measure strength and shuttle run for agility showed high validity value r= 0.89. The aerocic test using MFT test also have high validity (r=0.83). This reseach indicate that the test battery for men's U21 football players is relevant and able to measure their physical ability to perform well in the game. This fitness test battery need to be reviewed continously based on the current demand and requirement.

Abstract

Shoulder dislocation is one of the joint injuries with a high recurrence rate and has a significant impact on upper extremity function. Limitations in range of motion, decreased muscle strength, and shoulder instability are the main problems following reduction. One rehabilitation approach that has continued to develop is functional movement–based strengthening therapy through Modified Shoulder Flexion and Extension exercises. This study aimed to analyze the effect of this method on pain reduction, improvement in shoulder range of motion, and shoulder muscle strength in patients after shoulder dislocation. The study employed a quasi-experimental design with a pretest–posttest approach involving 18 respondents with anterior shoulder dislocation who met the inclusion criteria and completed the entire intervention program. The intervention was administered for six weeks with a frequency of three sessions per week. Data were analyzed using a paired t-test to compare pre- and post-intervention values for pain (VAS), range of motion, and muscle strength.  The results demonstrated a significant reduction in pain, with a mean decrease of 3.8 points on the VAS, along with substantial improvements in shoulder range of motion, particularly in flexion and abduction, which increased by more than 70°. Progressive strengthening of the rotator cuff and deltoid muscles was also observed, with all participants achieving at least a one-grade improvement in Manual Muscle Testing scores.. These findings support the effectiveness of Modified Shoulder Flexion and Extension as an integral component of post–shoulder dislocation physiotherapy rehabilitation.

Abstract

Study purpose. This study aimed to investigate the impact of multilateral learning methods on the acceleration of motor educability in elementary school students, with an analytical focus on manipulative coordination and sensorimotor adaptability. Materials and methods. Employing a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design, this study involved 50 fifth-grade students selected via purposive sampling. The pedagogical intervention was implemented over a six-week period, integrating multilateral principles into the formal physical education curriculum through small sided games and fundamental movement circuits. Assessment instruments specifically tennis ball throwing and catching tests alongside basketball throwing tests were utilized to evaluate the efficacy of force control and the students' capacity for adaptive calibration to variability in object mass. Data were subsequently analyzed using a paired samples t-test at a 5% significance level to determine the statistical significance of the intervention's impact Results. The results demonstrated a significant increase in motor performance across both measurement parameters; the mean score for the tennis ball throw significantly increased from 7.74 to 8.00 (t_observed = 2.768 > t_table = 2.009; p = 0.008). A more substantial significance was identified in the basketball instrument, where scores rose from 3.07 to 3.37 (t_observed = 9.440 > t_table = 2.009; p < 0.001). These findings provided empirical evidence that multilateral intervention effectively stimulated neuromuscular plasticity in students, enabling precise force calibration during transitions in object characteristics. Conclusions. It was concluded that the implementation of multilateral learning based on equipment modification was a significant strategy for optimizing motor educability profiles while strengthening the foundation of physical literacy in children's developmental phases.

Abstract

The widespread use of ergogenic aids and nutritional supplements among competitive athletes has generated extensive research, yet findings remain fragmented due to heterogeneous methodologies, inconsistent outcomes, and diverse populations. This systematic literature review (SLR) synthesized empirical evidence on the effects of ergogenic aids and dietary supplementation on athletic performance and recovery, identified dominant themes, and highlighted research gaps. Following PRISMA 2020 guidelines, a systematic search of the Scopus database was conducted on 7 June 2026 using terms related to ergogenic aids, nutritional supplementation, performance, and recovery. Of 675 records published between 2017 and 2026, 34 duplicates were removed and screening based on predefined criteria yielded 25 studies for thematic synthesis. Study quality was appraised using the FICO framework (Focus–Information–Context–Outcome), and findings were integrated via thematic synthesis rather than meta-analysis owing to substantial heterogeneity in supplement types, dosing, and outcome measures. Three thematic clusters emerged: (1) protein and macronutrient supplementation enhanced muscle protein synthesis and reduced exercise-induced muscle damage, particularly with leucine-enriched and post-exercise protocols; (2) caffeine, creatine, beta-alanine, nitrates, and polyphenolic antioxidants consistently improved high-intensity performance, endurance, and oxidative stress profiles; and (3) multi-ingredient pre-workout and periodized nutrition strategies produced synergistic recovery benefits, although dose-response relationships and population-specific effects remain unclear. Findings advance mechanistic understanding and support evidence-based nutritional protocols while emphasizing the need for individualized supplementation strategies informed by metabolomics, genomics, and microbiome profiling.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menguji kelayakan (feasibility) dan efektivitas program High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) yang dilaksanakan dari rumah selama 8 minggu dalam meningkatkan level aktivitas fisik pada perempuan dewasa yang kurang aktif. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan desain eksperimen dengan Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT), melibatkan 40 perempuan dewasa sehat yang kurang aktif, dibagi menjadi kelompok intervensi HIIT (n=20) dan kelompok kontrol (n=20). Intervensi HIIT dilakukan selama 8 minggu. Data dikumpulkan pada minggu awal dan minggu ke-8, dan dianalisis menggunakan uji-t, chi-Squared, dan ANOVA berulang, serta didukung oleh kerangka Self-Determination Theory (SDT). Analisis data statistik, uji-t serta uji chi-Squared dan Uji ANOVA berulang. Keseluruhan uji statistik dilakukan dengan bantuan perangkat Lunak IBM SPSS versi 26. Hasil menunjukkan HIIT dari rumah sangat layak (adherence tinggi, 85%-90%). Intervensi ini efektif secara signifikan, ditandai dengan peningkatan drastis Aktivitas Fisik Intensif (dari 10.0 menjadi 100.0 menit/minggu) dan Total AF Sedang ke Tinggi (mencapai 180.0 menit/minggu) pada kelompok HIIT. Secara psikososial, HIIT meningkatkan Efikasi Diri dan Kenikmatan Aktivitas Fisik, serta mengurangi Kelelahan Multidimensi (p0.05). Tidak ada perbedaan signifikan ditemukan pada Dukungan Sosial atau Respons Afektif antar sesi HIIT dan sedang. Simpulan, program HIIT dari rumah terbukti sangat layak dan efektif untuk meningkatkan AF intensif dan hasil psikososial positif, menjadikannya pilihan intervensi yang kuat.

Abstract

Purpose. This study aims to compare the physical condition of male pencak silat athletes from West Sumatra and Suriname through nine physical tests (endurance, agility, speed, strength, explosive power, balance, and flexibility). Methods. Descriptive analysis shows that the average physical condition test carried out for speed, agility, strength, flexibility, balance and endurance of athletes from West Sumatra is higher in all components. Result. However, the independent t test showed no statistically significant difference (p > 0.05) in all variables, which means the physical condition of both groups is relatively equal. Conclussions. Research with a larger sample is needed to confirm this finding. The pencak silat culture present in Suriname is also the root of the martial arts sport in Indonesia so it reflects a fairly similar coaching system, recommendations for further research on the pencak silat technique owned by athletes from both countries.
