Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kadar hormon testosteron, libido, dan kualitas sperma kambing Bligon, Kejobong, dan Peranakan Etawah (PE). Sampel terdiri dari 3 ekor kambing Bligon, 3 ekor kambingKejobong, dan 3 ekor kambing PE jantan. Kadar testosteron diukur menggunakan metode enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Tingkat libido diketahui dengan pengamatan waktu pertama mencumbu betina, menaiki betina, sampai ejakulasi. Penampungan sperma menggunakan metode vagina buatan. Data yang diperoleh kemudian ditentukan nilai korelasi antara kadar testosteron dengan libido dan kualitas sperma. Hasil menunjukkan testosteron pagi kambing Bligon berkorelasi terhadap waktu mencumbu betina (R= -0,79 dan Y= 20,91-6,52X), menaiki betina (R= -0,80 dan Y= 20,28-7,16X), ejakulasi (R= -0,81 dan Y= 14,03-7,56X), volume sperma (R= 0,65 dan Y= -0,78+0,03X), dan motilitas spermatozoa (R= 0,70 dan Y= -73,83+1,43X) (P<0,01). Testosteron pagi kambing Kejobong berkorelasi terhadap waktu mencumbu betina (R= -0,75 dan Y= 14,96-0,68X), menaiki betina (R= -0,69 dan Y= 21,59-0,86X), ejakulasi (R= -0,66 dan Y= 28,51-0,83X), dan konsentrasi spermatozoa (R= 0,59 danY= 430,73+12,75X) (P<0,01), sedangkan testosteron sore berkorelasi terhadap waktu mencumbu betina (R= -0,90 dan Y= 21,50-1,06X), menaiki betina (R= -0,90 dan Y= 24,89-1,16X), dan ejakulasi (R= -0,84 dan Y= 34,27-1,14X)(P<0,01). Testosteron sore kambing PE berkorelasi terhadap waktu mencumbu betina (R= -0,72 dan Y= 12,83-7,31X), menaiki betina (R= -0,72 dan Y= 9,11-7,67X), ejakulasi (R= -0,69 dan Y= 2,02-8,25X), viabilitas spermatozoa(R= 0,77 dan Y= -90,99+2,20X) dan konsentrasi spermatozoa (R= 0,72 dan Y= -452,10+9,56X) (P<0,01). Disimpulkan bahwa terdapat korelasi antara kadar hormon testosteron dengan tingkat libido dan kualitas sperma, serta terdapatvariasi korelasi diantara bangsa kambing.(Kata kunci: Korelasi, Testosteron, Libido, Kualitas sperma, Kambing)

Abstract

This study was conducted to examine the adsorption of Cr (VI) metal using Spirulina sp (inactive) biomass and its application in leather tannery wastewater. The treatment was carried out to determine the influence of independent variables on Cr (VI) adsorption with variations in pH, contact time, and metal solution concentration. The values of the solution pH, adsorption time, and concentration of the best metal solution were used to determine the center points of the optimization variables through Response Surface Methodology (RSM). The results showed that based on the FTIR test, macromolecules present in Spirulina sp biomass included amino, carboxylate, and hydroxy groups. The combination of factor variables that produced the optimum response was at pH 3.165, contact time of 66.58 minutes, and Cr (VI) metal ion solution concentration of 22.9 mg/L, resulting in a Cr (VI) adsorption efficiency of 69.66%. The adsorption pattern was included in the Freundlich adsorption isotherm, and the application of Spirulina sp biomass adsorbent to tannery waste reduced the concentration of Cr (VI) from 3.9 g/L to an undetectable level at <1.4 g/L.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of phytoremediation on the bioremoval of COD, ammonia, and Cr (VI) from tannery wastewater and examine its effect on the growth of Chlorella populations. The research method consisted of two stages: first, preparation of liquid waste media. The second is culturing pure cultures followed by microalgae cultivation using leather tanning liquid waste media with a concentration variation of 0%, 10%, 20%, and 30% v/v. Filtrate samples after harvest were analyzed for COD, ammonia, and Cr (VI). The results obtained in this study show that Chlorella can grow in tanning waste media. The highest exponential phase occurs at a concentration of 20% with a growth rate of 0.557. Tannery liquid waste contains inorganic minerals utilized by Chlorella pyrenoidosa cells for growth. Cultivation of Chlorella pyrenoidosa can reduce leather tanning liquid waste parameters, namely COD, ammonia, and Cr (VI).

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah memanfaatkan limbah feses sapi di Kelompok Ternak Sido Rukun dan Sido Mulyo, Jaranan, Panggungharjo, Sewon, Bantul, Yogyakarta untuk dibuat menjadi pupuk organik dengan tambahan limbah fleshing dari sisa proses pengolahan kulit di PT Budi Makmur Jayamurni, Yogyakarta. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ini dibagi menjadi 3 tahap: 1) persiapan dan survey kondisi kelompok ternak Sido Rukun dan Sido Mulyo (Agustus 2023), 2) penyuluhan materi dan praktek pembuatan pupuk organik (September dan Oktober 2023), 3) evaluasi kegiatan, diklat (Oktober 2023). Pembuatan pupuk dibagi menjadi 3 perlakuan, yaitu A: dengan penambahan kapur, B: dengan penambahan limbah fleshing, dan C: tanpa penambahan kapur maupun limbah fleshing. Perbedaan perlakuan tersebut bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan limbah fleshing terhadap kualitas pupuk organik, serta untuk mengetahui formula terbaik untuk pembuatan pupuk organik. Proses pembalikan dan pemantauan pengomposan dilakukan 1 kali seminggu selama 4 minggu. Pupuk organik terbaik diperoleh dariPerlakuan B (kombinasi kotoran ternak dengan limbang fleshing) dengan hasil pupuk organik memiliki bentuk remah, warna coklat tua, dan bau seperti tanah. Tingkat pemahaman peserta terhadap materi dikategorikan baik, ditunjukkan dengan adanya peningkatan nilai rata-rata dari pre-test (48,6) menjadi post-test(67,5). Instruktur telah memenuhi kriteria dalam ketepatan waktu, kehadiran setiap proses dan mampu menyampaikan materi dengan baik dengan nilai rata-rata 84,4 (sangat baik). Penilaian seluruh aspek kegiatan yang meliputi tema atau materi diklat secara umum, instruktur, metode diklat, fasilitas, dan penyelenggaraan diklat menunjukkan nilai rata-rata 4,51 (baik).

Abstract

ABSTRACT. Chrome tanning material is still widely used in the tanning process for garment leather production. Its use began to be reduced to overcome its negative environment impact. Vegetable tannin of a mimosa and tara combination was used in this study to substitute chrome tanning material. Garment made from vegetable-tanned leather with a ratio mimosa to tara of 5:13 was compared to garments made from chrome-tanned leather, both the production methods and resulting leather characteristics. To obtain garment leather characteristics, chrome-tanned leather requires auxiliary materials and two fatliquoring steps. Vegetable-tanned leather requires more auxiliary materials and fatliquoring steps (3 steps). Physical test results show that chrome-tanned leather gives better tensile strength, elongation, tear strength, and softness that meet with SNI (Standar Nasional Indonesia or Indonesian National Standard). Meanwhile, garments from vegetable-tanned leather exhibit elongation, tear strength, and softness that meet with SNI. However, adding auxiliary materials and fatliquoring steps in the garment-making process from vegetable-tanned leather is still unable to produce the softness, smoothness, and elasticity of a garment from chrome-tanned leather.

Abstract

Pelatihan dan pendampingan pengelolaan wakaf tunai memiliki peran penting dalam mendukung pembangunan infrastruktur desa yang berkelanjutan. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi pengaruh pelatihan dan pendampingan terhadap efektivitas pengelolaan wakaf tunai di tingkat desa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei pada 10 desa yang terpilih sebagai sampel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program pelatihan dan pendampingan meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat tentang wakaf tunai sebesar 40% dan mempercepat proses pembangunan infrastruktur desa. Artikel ini juga memberikan rekomendasi untuk optimalisasi strategi pengelolaan wakaf tunai di masa depan.

Abstract

Seiring dengan perkembangan jaman, industri penyamakan kulit dituntut untuk memiliki proses produksi yang lebih bersih namun tetap efektif dan efisien, khususnya pada proses pewarnaan. Proses pewarnaan pada kulit merupakan salah satu tahapan proses penyamakan kulit yang cukup krusial dan menentukan kualitas dari kulit yang akan di hasilkan nantinya. Ultrasonik merupakan teknologi yang memanfaatkan gelombang suara frekuensi tinggi untuk meningkatkan interaksi antara pewarna dan kulit. Teknologi ultrasonik dapat meningkatkan efisiensi pewarnaan dengan mempercepat penetrasi pewarna ke dalam serat kulit. Pada penelitian kali ini dilakukan analisis pada dua metode pewarnaan kulit yaitu metode pewarnaan konvensional dengan menggunakan drum kayu tradisional dan metode pewarnaan kulit dengan menggunakan bantuan mesin ultrasonik. Mesin Mesin ultrasonik yang digunakan yaitu mesin ultrasonik cleaner dengan frekuensi operasi 48 KHz. Selanjutnya dilakukan analisis untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan teknologi ultrasonik dalam proses pewarnaan kulit, dengan fokus analisis pada konsentrasi cairan pewarna selama proses pewarnaan serta warna yang dihasilkan pada kulit. Pada analisis pengaruh waktu terhadap konsentrasi cairan pewarna selama proses pewarnaan, menunjukkan bahwa metode konvensional mengalami penurunan konsentrasi yang cepat pada 15 menit pertama. Sedangkan pada metode pewarnaan ultrasonic, penurunan konsentrasi zat pewarna lebih stabil dan penyerapan warna dapat efisien. Selain itu, pada hasil pewarnaan berdasarkan nilai luminansi menunjukkan bahwa metode ultrasonik menghasilkan warna yang lebih pekat dan mencapai kestabilan warna lebih awal yaitu pada menit ke 30. Sedangkan pada metode konvensional tercapai kestabilan warna pada menit ke 45. Dengan demikian, pewarnaan ultrasonik tidak hanya mempercepat proses tetapi juga meningkatkan kualitas dan kestabilan warna pada produk kulit.

Abstract

Dead on arrival (DOA) animals, particularly poultry, refer to animals that die during the pre-slaughter phase and are generally considered waste, despite their potential as raw materials for leather production. However, scientific information regarding the quality of leather produced from DOA chicken feet skin remains limited. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the feasibility of utilizing DOA chicken feet skin by comparing its physical and chemical properties with those of fresh chicken feet skin after tanning. Chicken feet skin from both sources was processed through beamhouse operations, tanning, post-tanning, and finishing stages before quality evaluation. Physical properties analyzed included thickness, softness, shrinkage temperature, elasticity, tensile strength, tear strength, and seam strength, while chemical properties included pH, moisture content, and oil/fat content. Differences between treatments were analyzed using an independent samples t-test for parameters with sufficient replicates. The results showed that thickness, softness, and shrinkage temperature were not significantly different (P>0.05). Fresh and DOA leather showed comparable seam strength values of 602.52 N/cm and 600.23 N/cm, respectively. Chemical properties were also similar, with pH of 4, moisture contents of 15.16% and 13.82%, and oil/fat contents of 14.94% and 14.05%. Overall, DOA chicken feet skin showed comparable characteristics and potential for leather production.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to examine the physical structure of goat skins tanned with aluminium as an alternative tanning agent.Methods: Twelve pieces of goat skin from the pikle breed were used in the study. Chromosal B, an aluminium tanning agent, Novaltan Al, salt (NaCl), Derminol OCS, MgO, Sodium bicarbonate, a BCG indicator, Permit MLN, and an anti-fungal are among the chemicals utilized. The approach involves tanning using chrome tanning as a control and aluminum tanning with amounts of 2%, 4%, and 6% Al2O3. Cross-sectional tests were used to assess the wet white leather's results, and the SEM-EDX method was used to determine the leather's composition.Results: Leather tanned with aluminium tanning agent shows the distribution of aluminium in the skin section, the increasing use of aluminium tanning materials, the higher the aluminium content in tanned leather.Conclusions: The presence of aluminium tanning agent in the skin indicates an interaction between the material and the skin so that it can be used as an alternative tanning agent.
