Abstract

Abstrak: Peranan disabilitas dalam membangun ekonomi tidak bisa dikesampingkan begitu saja karena jumlah yang cukup banyak dan keahlian yang dimiliki. Paper ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keuntungan bengkel difabel dengan mengoptimalkan utilitas mesin yang ada melalui penjualan e-commerce. Langkah pertama yang dilakukan adalah studi literature tentang utilitas mesin, e-commerce, dan ekonomi teknik. Kemudian dilanjutkan dengan menghitung utilitas existing pada mesin bengkel sebesar 50%. Penjualan dengan e-commerce mampu dapat mendongkrak penjulan yang sebelumnya terdapat order 2 motor per bulan menjadi 3 motor perbulan. Selain itu juga terjadi penambahan order terhadap komponen motor seperti roda gigi, sumbu, dll yang cukup banyak. Sehingga mampu menaikkan utilitas bengkel secara signifikan melalui e-commerce dengan besaran sebesar 100%. Secara singkat dapat dikatakan bahwa instalasi e-commerce dapat menaikkan nilai utilitas bengkel dengan baik.Abstract: The role of disabilities in developing the economy cannot be ignored because of the large number of people and their skills. This paper aims to increase the profitability of disabled workshops by optimizing existing machines' utility through e-commerce sales. The first step taken is a literature study on machine utility, e-commerce, and engineering economics. Then proceed by calculating the utility of the existing machine workshop by 50%. E-commerce sales can boost sales from previously ordered 2 motorbikes per month to 3 motorbikes per month. Besides, there were also quite many orders for motor components such as gears, axles, etc. To significantly increase the utility of the workshop through commerce with an amount of 100%. In short, it can be said that e-commerce installation can increase the utility value of a workshop well.

Abstract

Technological changes are important to increase productivity, quality of products produced, and provide safety and health for workers. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the application of wood craft machinery technology by persons with disabilities. The first step is an initial survey of the existing wood craft production process, which related to the equipment used, work methods, and work results (productivity and quality) as well as the level of accidents or health problems at work. Small enterprises for disabled workers were used as research objects to check the impact of technological changes on the production process. Changes in technology used in the form of cutting machine, carving chisel, small CNC machine, smoothing machine, and paint machine (finishing process). The Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) was adopted to approach the assessment of the impact of the technology implementation of the wood carving process. Data was collected through several activities such as interviews and direct observation. The success measurement parameters were divided into several main points, including performance, effort, user behavior, experience, facility design, environmental impact, and the level of worker safety or health. In short, it can be said that technology can improve the quality and productivity of work for disabled workers while still paying attention to the ergonomic value of the human-machine relationship at the right workstation.

Abstract

The corrosive coastal environment will result in a high corrosion rate for any equipment installed there. This is due to the constant exposure to saltwater, high humidity levels, and strong winds. Therefore, it is crucial to use corrosion-resistant materials and regularly maintain the equipment to ensure its longevity in such an environment. One method to reduce the rate of corrosion is to pay close attention to the manufacturing parameters of these components, one of which is the face milling process. The aim of this study is investigating the effect of face milling process with different dept of cut using minimum quantity lubrication method with corn oil as a renewable vegetable cutting fluid. In this study AISI 316L stainless steel was face milled using HAAS VF-2 CNC machine. The depth of cut is varied between 0.2 mm, 0.3 mm, 0.4 mm, 0.5 mm, and 0.6 mm. The results demonstrated that the greater the depth of cut, the greater the surface roughness value that will be generated. It is resulting in increment in the corrosion rate value.

Abstract

The use of solenoid magnets in welding processes has attracted attention due to their potential to influence the properties of welded joints. This research investigates the effect of the size of the magnetic induction solenoid on the tensile strength and impact toughness of welds between mild steel and medium carbon steel. Welding experiments were carried out using various sizes of solenoid magnets (0; 1.71mT; 2.11mT; 2.31mT; 2.60mT), and the welding results were tested for tensile strength and impact toughness. The findings show that the size of the magnetic induction solenoid has a significant effect on the mechanical properties of the weld. The larger induction size in this study increased the tensile strength of the welded joint, namely 431.576 N/mm2 without induction and 533.33 N/mm2 with induction. Meanwhile, the impact toughness of welded joints also increases, namely 95.92N.m without treatment and 217.35N.m with induction.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the influence of immersing Petung Bamboo in a NaOH solution on the tensile strength (TS) of composites containing an epoxy matrix. Petung Bamboo Webbing was given 0%, 3%, 6% and 9%, soaking treatment. The Composite utilised in this investigation was fabricated by the Vacuum Assisted Resin Infusion technique. Tensile testing of composites is conducted according to the ASTM D638-1 standard. The findings indicated a positive correlation between the concentration of NaOH immersion and the adhesion between the woven surface of Petung Bamboo and the matrix. Consequently, the TS of the Composite was enhanced. However, increasing the concentrations beyond a certain point leads to more degradation of the lignin and cellulose in the fibers, resulting in a loss in the strength of the composite. The Petung Bamboo woven reinforced Composite achieved the highest TS of 136.06 MPa after being treated with a 6% NaOH immersion. This was followed by a 3% NaOH immersion treatment resulting in a TS of 106.04 MPa. Without any NaOH immersion treatment, the composite had a TS of 97.31 MPa. The lowest TS of the composite was observed after a 9% NaOH immersion treatment, measuring 90.79 MPa. The Petung Bamboo wicker-reinforced composite with NaOH immersion treatment showed higher fiber pullout and fiber-matrix debonding failures, while higher NaOH treatment concentration reduced these failures.

Abstract

Galvalum has become an inevitable part of Darul Muttaqin Batu Islamic Boarding School construction. The ease of access, affordability, and simplicity of installation have led to most buildings within the boarding school using galvalume. However, professional galvalume workers are still employed when it comes to the structure and construction at the boarding school. As a result, the boarding school has to incur high costs to construct or create equipment made from galvalume. In addition to the above-mentioned issues, the students are a valuable human resource that can be utilized to create equipment from galvalume. However, because the students are not yet familiar with how to cut, assemble, and create kit from galvalume materials, training is essential to provide them with additional skills alongside their religious studies at the boarding school. This endeavor involves the contribution of equipment for galvalume material manufacturing and training on assembling galvalume materials according to the boarding school's needs. Through these activities, it is hoped that knowledge will be transferred from the university/instructor to the students. Consequently, this not only equips the boarding school but primarily provides the students with skills so that when they graduate from the boarding school, they have the skills to lead a decent and self-sufficient life.

Abstract

Ketahanan pangan merupakan program yang telah di canangkan oleh pemerintah. Dalam pelaksanaanya pembuatan wilayah dengan ketahanan dapat diintegrasikan dengan wilayah penopang ekonomi lainnya seperti daerah wisata sehingga akan didapat sentra Ekonomi yang mampu dijadikan sebagai sumber penghasilan warga setempat. Desa Kebontunggul merupakan desa yang ada di Kecamatan Gondang Kabupaten Mojokerto. Melalu program Matching Fund Kedaireka yang didanai oleh Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi Universitas Brawijaya mengadakan program hilirisasi Teknologi berupa pengembangan Kawasan Peternakan sapi perahyang diintegrasikan dengan Kawasan wisata yang ada di daerah setempat yaitu Lembah Mbendcirang yang sebelumnya sudah beroprasi. Tim Matching Fund Universitas Brawijaya mengadakan pemetaan wilayah di desa Kebontunggul terkait potensi lokasi sapi perah, sumberdaya paka, serta akses lokasi integrasi dengan lembah mbencirang. Selanjutnya dengan bantuan drone dan satelit Map Tim Martching Fund Universitas Brawijaya Melakukan pembuatan Materplan dimana dalam pembuatannya juga melibatkan masyarakat setempat sehingga sesuai dengan harapan masyarakat namun tetap memegang aspek Teknolologi yang dikembangkan oleh Universitas Brawiajaya. Selin itu juga dilakukan pelatihan budidaya sapi perah yang dilakukan oleh Tim Matching fund 2022 Universitas Brawijaya

Abstract

The Engine Flange is a crucial component in engines and engine systems, used to connect or mount the engine onto other structures or parts of vehicles. It serves as a strong and stable attachment point, allowing the engine to be securely and accurately positioned. The Engine Flange consists of two arms with matching holes to accommodate the propeller shaft. Engine Flanges can be produced through the metal casting process using sand molds (sand casting). The most commonly used material for making Engine Flanges is aluminum. Economically, sand casting is the most cost-effective method compared to others. There are many variables to consider in the metal casting process to obtain high-quality products with minimal defects. Therefore, process optimization is necessary to minimize defects that may occur during casting. Subsequently, metal casting simulations were performed using Altair Inspire Cast 2023 software to identify and compare the defects produced. The aim of this research is to compare actual casting results with simulations to identify defects in actual castings and simulation results. After the research, similar defects were found between the actual castings and simulation results, such as microporosity, porosity, shrinkage, mold erosion, and air entrapment. However, there were also other defects present in the actual castings, such as fins, sand inclusions, shrinkage, misruns, and swells.

One of the important contributions from the academic community of Brawijaya University is the empowerment of students in the boarding school setting. A range of empowerment programs have been adopted, encompassing the enhancement of traditional beverage production tools and workshop tools, as well as the introduction of handicraft innovations to augment income. The economy of the students and members of the Darul Mutaqin Islamic boarding school in Dau Village, Batu City, primarily relies on donations, supplemented by revenue generated from the sale of herbal goods. The school is strategically located next to rice fields, which offer ample natural resources. Food self-sufficiency can be achieved by utilizing animal husbandry techniques that involve feeding animals with nutritious green feed derived from agricultural waste, such as water hyacinth and maize stalks. This approach holds significant promise. Presently, the livestock industry at Darul Mutaqin Islamic Boarding School, namely in poultry farming, remains underdeveloped despite the ample availability of natural resources. Poultry farming, a generally manageable approach, might suffer a decrease in economic profitability if not adequately planned. The implementation of suitable technology via the Doktor Mengabdi initiative is anticipated to enhance students' proficiency in animal husbandry, augment livestock yield, and uphold environmental well-being. Darul Mutaqin's future goals include attaining financial self-sufficiency. This effort offers solutions by implementing a cutting-edge pilot project for a contemporary livestock system that integrates diverse mechanization and automation technology. The purpose of these suitable technologies is to generate sustainable poultry products, hence benefiting the pesantren community.
