Abstract

Putak is a local feed in west Timor, East Nusa Tenggara Province. It is obtained from soft core of palm tree which is called gebang tree (Corypha gebanga). Putak contains high carbohydrate and fiber but low in protein. As an effort to increase the ptotein level in putak a research was conducted by fermenting it with mixed-cultured of Trichoderma reesei and Aspergillus niger. A laboratorium experimental method was used and arranged factorially in Completely Randomized Design 3 x 4 x 3 namely three inoculant levels of T. reesei (T): 5,0; 7,5 and 10,0 % (w/w), and four levels of A. niger (A) 0,5; 1,0; 1,5 and 2,0% (w/w). Mixed-cultured was done by: first, T.reesei as treatment mix with putak and incubation for two days, after that mix with A.niger, incubation for two days. The best result of this study was on combination of T.reesei 7.5% level and 1,5% of A.niger were crude protein (23.62%) and soluble protein (14.92%) was highest and fiber 10,17%.

Abstract

The experiment used fermentation technique. Aspergillus niger was employed in attempting to increase the quality of putak. The experiment was arranged factorially using Completely Randomized Design 4 x 3. Factor A consisted of 4 levels of inoculants: 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, and 2.0% (w/w), while factor B consisted of incubation duration, that is 2, 3 and 4 days. Variables assessed were crude protein, true protein, crude fiber and dry matter contents of putak. The result showed that the treatments were significantly (P<0.05) affected the variables assessed. In conclusion, the treatments was improved the quality of putak. Keywords: putak, Aspergillus niger.

Abstract

The study purpose was to evaluate chemical compostion of the silage composed of Sorghum plumosum var. Timorense grass, and Gliricidia sepium leaves in defferent ratios. Completely randomized design 4 X 3 was applied in this study. The four treatments applied:100% Sorghum plumosum var. Timorense grass + 100% Gliricidia sepium leaves ; R0 = Mixture of 60% Sorghum plumosum var. Timorense grass : 40% Gliricidia sepium leaves ; R1 = Mixture of 70%, Sorghum plumosum var. Timorense grass : 30% Gliricidia sepium leaves ; R2 = Mixture of 80%, Sorghum plumosum var. Timorense grass : 20% Gliricidia sepium leaves ; R3 = Mixture of 90%, Sorghum plumosum var. Timorense grass : 10% Gliricidia sepium leaves. All treatments were preserved by adding 3% liquid sugar. Parameter measured: pH, crude protein (CP), crude fiber (CF) and fat cntent (FC). The results showed that CP increased 13.08 % in R0 was the best, and the lowest in R3 (8.25%), in line with the increasing number of Gliricidia leaves, leaves of Gliricidia additions also increase FC of coarse in R0 (6.14%) was the best, while the lowest in R3 (3.37%). with the increasing number of Gliricidia leaves that reduced CF in R0 (27.99 % ) was the lowest, while the highest in R3 (33.36%). Results showed significant effect (P<0,05) on the quality of silage mix of Sorghum plumosum var. Timorense grass and Gliricidia sepium leaves. The conclusion drawn is that including Gliricidia sepium leaves in silaging Sorghum plumosum var. Timorense grass can increase silage quality ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui kualitas kimia silase campuran rumput kume dan daun gamal. Rancangan Acak Lengkap digunakan dalam penelitian ini, terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan yang dimaksud adalah : RK = rumput kume 100% dan RG = daun gamal 100% sebagai pembanding ; R0 = Ratio rumput kume 60% : daun gamal 40% ; R1 = Ratio rumput kume 70% : daun gamal 30% ; R2 = Ratio rumput kume 80% : daun gamal 20% ; R3 = Ratio rumput kume 90% : daun gamal 10%, masing-masing ditambahkan gula air 3%, sebagai pengawet. Parameter yang diamati adalah : derajat keasaman (pH), komposisi kimia (protein kasar, serat kasar, dan lemak). Hasil penelitian, menunjukkan kandungan protein kasar meningkat yakni pada perlakuan R0 sebanyak 13,08% merupakan yang terbaik, sedangkan yang terendah pada perlakuan R3 sebanyak 8,25% seiring bertambahnya jumlah daun gamal, penambahan daun gamal juga meningkatkan kandungan lemak kasar, yakni pada perlakuan R0 sebanyak 6,14% merupakan yang terbaik. Sedangkan yang terendah pada perlakuan R3 sebanyak 3,37%. Dengan bertambahnya jumlah daun gamal menurunkan kandungan serat kasar yaitu pada perlakuan R0 sebanyak 27,99% merupakan yang terendah, sedangkan yang tertinggi pada R3 sebanyak 33,36%. Hasil uji lanjut juga menunjukkan pengaruh yang nyata (P<0,05) terhadap kualitas silase campuran rumput kume dan daun gamal. Kesimpulannya penambahan daun gamal dalam campuran silase rumput kume meningkatkan kualitas silase.

Abstract

This study aims were to determine the effect of oyster mushroom inoculum dose and long of incubation of the dry matter and organic matter in vitro products of coconut waste bioconversion results and determine the inoculum dose or prolonged incubation gives the best effect on the dry matter and organic matter. The design used in this study was completely randomized design (CRD) with factorial pattern with two factors, inoculums dose (A) and long incubation (B). Each factor consisted of three levels: A1 = 5g, A2 = 10g, A3= 15g and B1 = 30 days,B2= 35 days, B3 = 40 days. Results of variance analysis showed that the interaction between the treatment inoculum dose and long of incubation and of each factor independently treatment gives no significant effect (P> 0.05) on dry matter digestibility and organic matter digestibility, results of ANOVA showed that the interaction between dose of inoculum and long of incubation gives no significant effect (P> 0.05), but independently inoculum dose factors gave significant effect (P <0.05), whereas the long incubation factors were not significant (P> 0.05). Inoculum dose treatment of the organic matter digestibility with the best dose is at the level of inoculum of 15 g (66.01%). ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dosis inokulum jamur tiram putih dan lama inkubasi terhadap kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organic secara in vitro produk limbah kelapa muda hasil biokonversi dan menentukan dosis inokulum maupun lama inkubasi yang memberikan pengaruh terbaik terhadap kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) pola factorial dengan dua faktor yaitu dosis inokulum (A) dan lama inkubasi (B). Setiap faktor terdiri dari 3 level yakni A1= 5g, A2= 10g, A3= 15g dan B1= 30 hari, B2= 35 hari, B3= 40 hari sehingga didapatkan 9 kombinasi perlakuan dan setiap kombinasi perlakuan diulang sebanyak 3 kali. Hasil analisis ragam menunjukkan bahwa interaksi antara perlakuan dosis inokulum dan lama inkubasi maupun setiap faktor perlakuan secara mandiri tidak memberikan pengaruh yang nyata (P>0,05) terhadap kecernaan bahan kering maupun kecernaan bahan organik hasil analisis ragam menunjukkan bahwa interaksi antara perlakuan dosis inokulum dan lama inkubasi tidak memberikan pengaruh yang nyata (P>0,05), namun secara mandiri faktor perlakuan dosis inokulum memberikan pengaruh yang nyata (P<0,05), sedangkan faktor perlakuan lama inkubasi tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05). Perlakuan dosis inokulum terhadap kecernaan bahan organik dengan dosis terbaik adalah pada level inokulum 15 g sebesar (66,01%).

Abstract

This study was aimed to determining the effect of complete feed with a ratio of different rice straw and concentrate on rumen fermentation parameters female kacang goat, has been carried out at Large Hall Training Farm Noelbaki, Regency of Kupang, from 19th March until 28th May 2015. This experiment used 12 females kacang goat with experimental method a Randomized Block Design. There were three kind of treatments ((R1= rice straw 80% + concentrate 20%, R2= rice straw 70% + concentrate 30%., R3= rice straw 60% + concentrate 40%) and four replications. The result showed the treatment had not significant effect on pH (R1= 6,20, R2= 6,22 dan R3= 6,08), NH3 (R1= 5,16, R2= 4,95 dan R3= 5,37). While the effect on the treatment of partial VFA : acetic acid (R1= 17,16 R2= 9,62 dan R3= 14.09), propionic acid (R1= 4,31 R2= 2,99 dan R3= 4,97) and butyric acid has no effect (R1= 3,25 R2= 2,44 dan R3= 2,97). It treatment was concluded that ratio rice straw and concentrate was influenced to the acetic acid and propionic acid, but there were no influenced to the pH, NH3 and butyric acid. ABSTRAK Penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pakan komplit dengan rasio jerami padi dan konsentrat yang berbeda terhadap parameter fermentasi rumen kambing kacang betina, telah dilaksanakan di Balai Besar Pelatihan Peternakan (BBPP) Noelbaki, Kabupaten Kupang dari tanggal 19 Maret sampai 28 Mei 2015. Penelitian menggunakan kambing kacang betina sebanyak 12 ekor dengan metode eksperimental Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK). Terdapat tiga jenis perlakuan (R1= jerami padi 80% + Konsentrat 20%, R2= jerami padi 70% + Konsentrat 30%., R = jerami padi 60% + Konsentrat 40%) dengan empat ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan tidak berpengaruh terhadap pH (R1= 6,20, R2= 6,22 dan R3= 6,08), NH3 (R1= 5,16, R2= 4,95 dan R3= 5,37). Sedangkan VFA Parsial perlakuan berpengaruh terhadap Asam asetat (R1= 17,16 R2= 9,62 dan R3= 14.09), Asam Propionat (R1= 4,31 R2= 2,99 dan R3= 4,97) dan asam Butirat tidak berpengaruh (R1= 3,25 R2= 2,44 dan R3= 2,97). Disimpulkan bahwa pemberian jerami padi dan konsentrat berpengaruh terhadap asam asetat dan propionat, tetapi tidak berpengaruh terhadap pH, NH3 dan asam butirat.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving pituitary extract (EH) and probiotics ABG-O on piglets crossing to increase weaning weight, linear size of body and blood metabolites. The research material was a crossbred of landrace and duroc aged 2 weeks, as many as 24 birds. The experimental design was a completely randomized design with three treatments and eight replications. The three treatments are P0 (control), P1 (EH injection 1 mL), and P2 (injection EH 1 mL + probiotic ABG-O 2 mL). EH injections are carried out every 5 days and administration of probiotics is given orally using spoit every day until the piglets are weaned. The parameters observed were weight gain, linear size of body and blood metabolites. This data was analyzed by ANOVA and continued with Duncan test. The results of this study indicate that the average daily weight gain of crossbred piglets in treatments P0, P1, and P2 are 0.11; 0.13; 016 kg, body length (0.40; 0.45; 0.44 cm), chest circumference (0.29; 0.27; 0,30 cm), and shoulder height (0.25; 0.24; 0.25 cm). Blood glucose levels (117.31; 112.85; 117.25) and total plasma protein (4.60; 4.90; 4.80). The results of the statistical analysis showed that the EH and ABG probiotic treatments affected the UN (P<0.05) but did not affect (P> 0.05) the size of the linear body and blood metabolites. It can be concluded that the administration of pituitary extracts and ABG probiotics can increase the weaning weight but does not affect the linear size of the body blood metabolites and total protein plasma of crossing piglets.

Abstract

The experiment was conducted to improve the nutrients quality ofrice bran fermented with Saccharomyces cereviseae.A laboratorium experimental method was used andarranging factorially in Completely Randomized Design3 x 4 x 3 namely three inoculant levels of S.cerevisiae 1, 2, and 3 % (w/w) as the first factor and inkubation time: 24, 48 and 72 hours as the second factor. Parameters observed were crude protein, soluble protein,crude fat, and phytic acid.The best result of this study was combination 2% S.cerevisiae inoculant level and 72 hours incubation time was supporting to increasing crude protein (10,88 to 14, 36%), soluble protein content (6.14 to 9.82%), and decreased phytic acid content (5.48 to 2.98%) and crude fat (8,23 to 6,91%).

Abstract

The experiment was conducted to improve the nutrients quality of rice bran fermented with Rhyzopus oligosporus. The culture used was pure culture and was initiated by rejuvenation of the culture on slanted agar. The method used was experimental using a completely randomized design (CRD) with a 3 x 3 factorial pattern with three factors, namely the first factor was the inoculum level of R. oligosporus 1, 2, and 3% (w/w) and the second factor was incubation time: 24 , 48, and 72 hours to form nine treatment combinations. The combination is L1T1; L1T2; L1T3; L2T1; L2T2; L2T3; L3T1; L3T2 and L3T3. The treatment was repeated three times to form 27 experimental units. Parameters measured were crude protein content, soluble protein, and phytic acid in fermented rice bran. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and continued with Duncan's test to compare between treatments. The measurement results concluded that the R. oligosporus inoculum level of 2% and incubation time of 72 hours (L2T3) affected the increase in crude protein content (10.88 to 14.27%), soluble protein (from 6.14 to 9.07%), and decrease phytic acid (5.48 to 2.27%).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh lama fermentasi dengan cairan rumen kambing terhadap perubahan kualitas putak. Starter fermentasi putak berasal dari cairan rumen kambing kacang yang kembangbiakan dengan air kelapa muda. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode percobaan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Adapun perlakuan dalam penelitian ini adalah R0 = Putak 100 gram+ starter 2 % + urea 0,5% tanpa inkubasi (0 hari), R1 = RO + inkubasi 7 hari R2 = RO + inkubasi 14 hari dan R3 = RO + inkubasi 21 hari. Variable yang diukur dalam penelitian ini adalah Bahan Kering, Protein kasar, Lemak Kasar dan Serat Kasar. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan Analysis of variance (ANOVA). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh nyata P>0,01 terhadap peningkatan lemak kasar dan protein kasar putak, serta menurunkan kandungan serat kasar dan bahan kering. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah fermentasi putak menggunakan cairan rumen kambing dengan lama waktu inkubasi yang berbeda dapat meningkatkan kualitas nutrisi putak Kata kunci: Putak, cairan rumen kambing, lama inkubasi This study aims to determine the effect of fermentation time with goat's rumen fluid on changes in putak quality. Starter fermentation of putak were produced of the rumen liquid of goat nuts which was grown with young coconut water. The research method used was an experimental method using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments with 3 replicates. The treatments in this study were R0 = Putak 100 grams + starter 2% + urea 0.5% without incubation (0 days), R1 = RO + incubation 7 days R2 = RO + 14 days incubation and R3 = RO + 21 days incubation. The variables measured in this study were dry matter, crude protein, crude fat and rough fiber. The data obtained were analyzed using Analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results showed that the treatment significantly affected P> 0.01 on the increase in crude fat and crude protein of putak, as well as reducing the content of crude fiber and dry matter.
