Abstract

This study aimed at investigation the effects of kapok banana corm fermented with Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Aspergillus niger of a compound feed growing pigs on nutrient digestibility. Sixteen crossbred growing pigs Duroc x Landrace, (10 weeks of age; initial body weight 27 ± 3.92 kg) were allotted into four treatments in a randomized block design. There were four treatments diets offered: basal diets without corm fermented feeds (RO); basal diets + 7% corm fermented feeds (R1); basal diets + 14% corm fermented feeds (R2); basal diets + 21% corm fermented feeds (R3). Inclusion of 21% corm fermented feeds in the diet of pigs significantly reduced (P <0.01) dry matter intake and organic matter compared to the control diet. There were no significant different between 14% and 21% corm fermented feeds on the intake and digestibility of dry matter and organic matter of the pigs. However, inclusion of corm fermented feeds at the level of 7% showed the optimum digestibility of dry matter, organic matter, crude protein, and energy with the average value of 66.57%, 70.48%, 83.43% and 70.76%, respectively. It can be concluded that inclusion of corm fermented feeds as compound diet at the level of 7% increased dry matter digestibility and organic matter.

Abstract

This study aimed at evaluating the effect of using fermented taro (Colacasia esculenta) corm substituting corn meal in the diet on body linear size and back fat  thickness crossbred landrace pigs. There were 12 grower pigs of 2.5 months of initial age used in the study. Randomized Block Design (RBD) 4 treatments with 3 replicates procedures were applied in the study. The 4 treatments were: R0 = basal diets, R1: 12,5% fermented taro substitute corn meal; R2: 25% fermented taro substitute  corn meal; and R3: 37,5%fermented taro substitute  corn meal. Variable studied consisted of: body length, chest cycles, shoulder height increase, and back fat thickness. Statistical analysis showed that effect of treatment is not significant (P>0.05) on body length, chest cycles, shoulder height, and back fat thickness. The conclusion is that using fermented taro corm meal up to 37,5% substituting corn meal in the diet perform the similar result in the body length, chest cycles, shoulder height, and back fat thickness crossbred Landrate pigs.

Abstract

Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan di Dusun Neketuka, Desa Baumata Timur, Kecamatan Taebenu, Kabupaten Kupang selama 8 minggu dimulai dari tanggal 23 Juni 2018 sampai tanggal 18 Agustus 2018. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan tepung daun katuk dalam ransum terhadap konsumsi dan kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik ternak babi. Materi yang digunakan adalah 12 ekor ternak babi jantan kastrasi peranakan landrace berumur 4-5 bulan dengan bobot badan awal 26,5-55,5 kg, rata-rata 42,29 kg (KV= 19,69%). Penelitian ini menggunakan Racangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) 4 perlakuan dengan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan yang dicobakan adalah R0: 100% ransum basal tanpa tepung daun katuk (kontrol); R1: 97% ransum basal + 3% tepung daun katuk; R2: 94% ransum basal + 6% tepung daun katuk; R3: 91% ransum basal + 9% tepung daun katuk. Variabel yang diteliti adalah konsumsi dan kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik. Hasil analisis statistika menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi dan kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik. Disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan tepung daun katuk (Sauropus androgynus L. Merr) pada level 3%, 6% dan 9% dalam ransum menghasilkan konsumsi dan kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik yang relatif sama. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini disarankan untuk melakukan penelitian lanjutan dengan level yang lebih tinggi agar memperoleh hasil yang lebih optimal. Completely randomized block design 4 treatments with 3 replicates procedure was applied in the study. The 4 treatment diets offered in the trial were: R0: 100% basal diet without androgynus (control); R1: 97% basal diet + 3% androgynus leaves meal; R2: 94% basal diet + 6% androgynus leaves meal; and R3: 91% basal diet + 9% androgynus leaves meal. Variable studied were: intake and digestibility of dry matter and organic matter. Statistical analysis showes that effect of treatment is not significant (P>0,05) on either intake or digestibility of either dry or organic matter. The conclusion is that including 3%, 6% and 9% Sauropus androgynusL. Merr leaves meal into basal diet performances the similiar results in both intake and digestibility of both dry matter and organic matter. Based on the results of this study it is recommended to conduct further research with a higher level in order to obtain more optimal results. Key words: pig, Sauropus androgynus, dry , organic.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk membandingkan pengaruh penggunaan 3 jenis konsentrat (KGP 709, Hi-Grow, Menara dan campuran ketiganya), terhadap konsumsi dan kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik pada ternak babi. Materi yang digunakan adalah 12 ekor ternak babi kastrasi peranakan landrace berumur 1,5-2 bulan dengan berat badan awal 13,00 – 19,00 kg (KV = 11,09%). Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) yang terdiri atas empat perlakuan, R1: Pollard (50%) + Jagung (25%) + Konsentrat KGP 709 (25%), R2: Pollard (50%) + Jagung (25%) + Konsentrat Hi-Grow 152 (25%), R3: Pollard (50%) + Jagung (25%) + Konsentrat Menara (25%), R4: Pollard (50%) + Jagung (25%) + Konsentrat KGP 709 (8,3%) + Konsentrat Hi-Grow 152 (8,3%) + Konsentrat Menara (8,3%). Variabel yang diteliti adalah: konsumsi dan kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi dan kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik. Disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan 3 jenis konsentrat dan campuran ketiga konsntrat tersebut dalam pakan berbasis pollard menghasilkan kececernaan yang relatif sama dan penggunaan ketiganya secara bersama (R4) secara empiris memberikan hasil yang relatif lebih baik. Disarankan agar penggunaan pollard harus ditambahkan konsentrat sesuai standar pemberian dan umur babi yang tepat dan akan lebih baik dalam bentuk campuran beberapa jenis konsentrat. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui penjatahan pakan dengan porsi yang berbeda terhadap konsumsi dan kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik ternak babi. Materi yang digunakan adalah 12 ekor ternak babi jantan dan betina peranakan landrace, berumur 4 – 5 bulan dengan bobot badan awal 31kg – 65kg dengan rataan 49,25kg (KV=24%). Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan empat perlakuan dan tiga ulangan. Perlakuan yang dicobakan adalah R1: ransum yang diberikan 3% dari bobot badan, R2: Ransum yang diberikan 4% dari bobot badan, R3: Ransum yang diberikan 5% dari bobot badan, R4: Ransum yang diberikan 6 % dari bobot badan. Variabel yang diteliti adalah konsumsi dan kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik. Hasil analisis statistika m enunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap konsumsi bahan kering dan bahan organik dan berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik. Disimpulkan bahwa penjatahan pakan dengan porsi yang berbeda hingga 6% dari bobot badan memberikan pengaruh yang nyata dalam meningkatkan konsumsi bahan kering dan bahan organik dan memberikan pengaruh yang tidak nyata terhadap kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik pada ternak babi. Berdasarkan kesimpulan diatas maka dapat disarankan agar petani peternak dalam pemberian pakan untuk ternak sebaiknya 4%-6% dari bobot badan. ABSTRACT The aimsof the study is to evaluate the effect of different feeding adminstrati levels on intake and digestibility of dry and organic matter in pigs. There were 12 landrace barrow 4 to 5 months old with initial 31kg - 65kg (avg. 49.25 kg; CV = 24%) initial body weight used in the study. Randomized Block Design (RBD) 4 treatments with 3 replicates procedure was applied in the trial. The 4 treatments offered were: R1: feed adminstrated 3% of body weight; R2 4% of body weight; R3: feed adminstrated 5% of body weight; and R4: feed adminstrated 6% of body weight. The variables studied were: dry matter and organic matter intake; and dry matter and organic matter digestibility values. Statistical analysis showed that the effect of treatment was highly significant (P<0.1) on both dry matter and organic matter itake, but no significant (P>0.05) on either dry matter or organic matter digestibility value. The conclusio is that administrationg pig with different feeding levels up to 6% of body weight increase the significantly dry and organic matter intake, but similar in both dry jmatter and organic matter digetibility in pig. The rrecommendation is that farmer can adminstrate pigs with feed 4-6% of body weight. Key words : Pigs, allotment, dry matter, organic matte

Abstract

Studi ini untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh substitusi pakan komplit komersial (PKK) dengan tepung daun kelor (TDK) pada konsumsi dan daya cerna SK dan LK ternak babi grower. Dipakai 12 ekor ternak babi jantan kastrasi peranakan landrace berumur 3-4 bulan dengan BB awal 38-55 kg dan rataan 45,17 kg (KV=13,31%). Dipakai metode percobaan dengan RAL 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuannya meliputi: R0: 100% PKK, R1: 90% PKK+10% TDK, R2: 85% PKK+15% TDK, R3: 80% PKK+ 20% TDK.  Data dianalisis dengan analisis ragam. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan substitusi pakan komplit komersial dengan tepung daun kelor 0-20% memberi pengaruh yang tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi ransum, daya cerna SK, dan LK, berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap konsumsi SK dan berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) pada konsumsi LK. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah substitusi pakan komplit komersial dengan tepung daun kelor sampai 20% tidak mempengaruhi konsumsi ransum, daya cerna SK dan LK, namun meningkatkan konsumsi SK dan LK pada level 20%.   Kata kunci: babi grower, lemak kasar, serat kasar, tepung daun kelor
