Abstract

The present research aims to examine teachers and students perception in developing Code Learning Model in learning English productive skills, speaking and writing. The researchers utilized a descriptive study conducted in five universities in Bengkulu. Two hundred and sixteen students were randomly selected from sixth semester students studying in the English department participated in the study. Also, seventeen teachers were included in giving their comments on the questionnaire. The results of this study reveal that according to the perceptions of teachers and students, a coding learning model is essential and can be alternative learning in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 that puts forward the use of technology. The application of this model can train students' 21st-century competencies and computational thinking because they align with today's developments. It can also motivate students to learn productive English skills to be more exciting and accessible.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dimensi fungsional pada bahan ajar bahasa indonesia siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 06 Kota Bengkulu. Bahasa adalah sistem simbol bunyi yang bermakna dan berartikulasi (dihasilkan oleh alat ucap) yang bersifat arbitrer dan konvensional, yang dipakai sebagai alat berkomunikasi oleh sekelompok untuk melahirkan perasaan dan pikiran. Jenis penelitian ini adalah menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif guna memahami fenomena yang dialami oleh subjek penelitian secara keseluruhan, melalui deskripsi dalam bentuk kata-kata dan bahasa, dalam situasi khusus memanfaatkan berbagai metode alamiah.Teknik pengumpulan data adalah proses yang hakiki saat penelitian, sebab penelitian memiliki tujuan utama yaitu memperoleh data. Penelitian kualitatif, pengumpulan data dilakukan pada natural setting, informal dan teknik pengumpulan data banyak pada observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa Penerapan dimensi fungsional pada bahan ajar siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 06 Kota Bengkulu pelaksanaan pertama guru menjelaskan materi pembelajaran sesuai metode yang telah pendidik siapkan. Penjelasan materi dengan menjelaskan mengenai surat dinas. hal ini dilakukan agar peserta didik memiliki pengetahuan mengenai apa saja yang ada didalam teks deskripsi.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan Strategi Guru Bahasa Indonesa dalam Pembelajaran Membaca Cepat Buku Nonfiksi Pada kelas VIII SMPN 3 Tanjung Sakti PUMI Kabupaten Lahat, untuk mengetahui kendala- Kendala guru yang di hadapi dalam menerapkan strategi pembelajaran pada materi membaca cepat buku nonfiksi, untuk mengetahui upaya-upaya yang dilakukan oleh guru dalam mengatasi kendala-kendala yang dihadapi dalam menerapkan strategi pembelajaran membaca cepat buku nonfiksi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan Data menggunakan observai, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi sumber, kecukupan resensi dan menghadiri penelitian. Teknik analisis data adalah teknik deskriptif kualitatif dengan presentase. Hasil penelitiannya menunjukkan (1) Strategi yang digunakan guru dalam pembelajaran Membaca Cepat Buku Nonfiksi Pada Siswa Kelas VIII SMPN 03 Tanjung Sakti PUMI Kabupaten Lahat adalah Strategi Pembelajaran Kooperatif. Teknik membaca cepat yang di terapkan atau digunakan kepada perta didik adalah, teknik Skimming. (2) Kendala guru yang di hadapi dalam menerapkan strategi pembelajaran pada materi membaca cepat buku nonfiksi Bahasa Indonesia kelas Pada Siswa Kelas VIII SMPN 03 Tanjung Sakti PUMI Kabupaten Lahat adalah kurangnya sarana dan prasana, waktu yang terbatas, kurangnya perhatian peserta didik terhadap penjelasan guru, dan kurang adanya sifat suka bekerjasama. (3) Upaya yang dilakukan oleh guru dalam mengatasi kendala- kendala yang terjadi pada saat pembelajaran yaitu dengan membuat pokok masalah atau materi semenarik mungkin, mengkaitkan materi dengan dunia nyata atau dunia peserta didik itu sendiri, dan dengan membuat atau mempergunakan media pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan materi dan dapat dipergunakan oleh semua peserta didik.

Abstract

This study investigates the forms, meanings, and social functions of slang expressions in the Indonesian television talk show Brownis on Trans TV, a program widely recognized for its humorous and informal interactions. Slang, as a dynamic variety of language, plays a central role in shaping youth identity and media discourse, yet its use in mainstream entertainment contexts remains underexplored. Employing a qualitative descriptive design with a content analysis approach, twenty episodes broadcast between May and June 2022 were purposively selected and transcribed. Data collection involved systematic observation and documentation, while the analytic procedure consisted of identifying slang items, classifying them into forms, interpreting their semantic dimensions, and analyzing their communicative functions. The findings revealed four primary forms of slang basic words, reduplications, abbreviations, and phrases with abbreviations and basic words being the most frequent. Semantically, slang operated at lexical, grammatical, terminological, and reflective levels, while functionally it facilitated social bonding, attracted attention, delivered satire, compressed expressions, enriched vocabulary, created intimacy, and generated humor. Frequency analysis showed that a few dominant terms such as gue, elo, and bucin coexisted with a wide range of less frequent but innovative expressions, as visualized through bar charts and word clouds. These outcomes suggest that televised discourse not only mirrors youth linguistic practices but also amplifies and legitimizes them, contributing to the diffusion of non-standard language in Indonesian society. The study contributes a novel perspective to sociolinguistic research by situating slang within entertainment media, with implications for cultural studies, language education, and media literacy, while also noting limitations in scope and duration that future research should address.

Abstract

This study aims to describe in detail the planning, enactment, and evaluation of an outdoor-study approach for the explanatory-text unit in Bahasa Indonesia instruction, and to identify the enabling and constraining factors that condition its success in a typical Indonesian public junior high school. Using a descriptive qualitative bounded case design focused on one intact class (Grade VIII-A, SMPN 13 Bengkulu), fieldwork spanned two Plan–Act–Observe–Reflect cycles (January–March 2022). Data sources comprised participant observation, lesson artefacts (observation sheets, drafts, rubrics), peer reviews, teacher feedback, and semi-structured interviews, and were analysed with Miles and Saldaña’s iterative procedures of data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing; trustworthiness was supported through triangulation, audit trails, member checks, and prolonged engagement. Based on research results, two key findings emerged. First, when structured by explicit objectives, focused observation instruments, annotated text modelling, and iterative feedback cycles, outdoor study substantially improved students’ rhetorical organisation, cohesion, use of technical vocabulary, and causal reasoning in explanatory writing. Second, effectiveness was enabled by careful task design, active teacher facilitation, and targeted language scaffolding, yet constrained by weather/time disruptions, uneven participation, documentation distractions, and limited vocabulary; these challenges were mitigated through time-boxing, role rotation, a no-face photo policy, and consistent rubric use, thereby stabilising writing quality across cycles. Overall, outdoor study functions not as a recreational supplement but as an evidence-based pedagogical strategy aligned with national curriculum demands, offering a replicable pathway for strengthening explanatory writing and causal reasoning while informing teacher practice and school-level design.
