Abstract

Background: Smoking is an unhealthy habit that can cause various diseases. Health education is essential to improve understanding of the dangers of smoking. Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of health education through leaflets and video media on students' knowledge about the dangers of smoking at Junior High School 1 Peterongan. Design: This research method uses quasi-experimental methods with one group, pretest-posttest. The population is 225 students of class VII of SMPN 1 Peterongan with a sample of 56 respondents using random sampling techniques. Data were taken using a knowledge questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Test, the Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value was obtained at 0.000 <α 0.05, so it can be concluded that H1 is accepted, which means that there is an Effect of Health Education Through Leaflets and Video Media on Knowledge of the Dangers of Smoking in Students of Junior High School 1 Peterongan. Results: The results of the study showed that before the treatment, most respondents had a low level of knowledge, with a total of 32 people (57.1%), and no respondents had knowledge in the good category. After the treatment, most respondents had sufficient knowledge, namely 28 people (50.0%), while only a few respondents were still in the low category, namely 2 people (3.6%). Conclusion: Health education has a significant impact on students' knowledge of the dangers of smoking. Increasing knowledge about the dangers of smoking is very important for teenagers. The role of parents in supervising teenagers is also crucial to prevent smoking behavior and achieve the expected results.

Abstract

Diabetic ulcers are one of the serious complications that can cause open wounds and infections in the feet and other parts of the body. Sufferers often feel uncomfortable, lose self-confidence, and even fear amputation. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between wound severity and body image in diabetic ulcer patients. This study used a correlational analytical design through a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study were 37 diabetic ulcer patients using a purposive sampling technique and a sample of 34 respondents. The instruments used were observation sheets and questionnaires. Data analysis used Spearman rank, the time of the study was conducted in December 2023. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the degree of the wound showed that most of the respondents had deep ulcers as many as 20 people (58.8%). Body image in diabetic ulcer patients showed that most of the respondents had a body image in the sufficient category as many as 23 people (67.7%). There is a relationship between the degree of injury and body image in diabetic ulcer patients with a p value of 0.004 (

Abstract

Background: Resistance of Mycobacterium Tuberculosis is a condition in which Anti-Tuberculosis (OAT) drugs are unable to kill the Mycobacterium Tuberculosis germs. One type of resistance is Multidrug Resistant Tuberculosis. Multidrug Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR-TB) is TB caused by TB bacteria that are resistant to 2 types of OAT, namely INH and Rifampin. The consequences if resistance to OAT are deterioration of health, increased costs, prolonged treatment, high rates of therapy failure and death. Objective: This study aimed to determine relationship between age, gender, educational level, occupational, and knowledge level about multidrug resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) among tuberculosis patients at the Kanigaran Public Health Center, Probolinggo City. Methods: This study used a cross sectional research design with a sample of 60 respondents with pulmonary TB undergoing treatment at the Kanigaran Public Health Center, Probolinggo City. Data was collected using a questionnaire with an ordinal scale which was then analyzed using the Spearman Rank statistical test. Result: Based on the research results, it was found that only age and educational level had a relationship with knowledge level (r = -.291, p = .024; r = .470, p = .000; respectively). Conclusion: The level of knowledge of TB patients about multidrug-resistant TB (MDR-TB) can be influenced by education level and age, so that health workers can provide an understanding related to MDR-TB according to the level of education and age of the TB patient.

Abstract

Shivering is a problem that often occurs in patients undergoing surgery due to spinal block anesthesia or general anesthesia After spinal anesthesia, shivering is common during the intraoperative phase until the postoperative recovery phase. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the duration of surgery and the incidence of shivering in postoperative patients using spinal block anesthesia technique at RSI Masyithoh Bangil. The sampling method in this study used the accidental sampling technique involving 62 respondents. The instrument used was a patient observation form that recorded the duration of surgery and the occurrence of shivering. The results of the Spearman rho test showed a relationship between the duration of surgery and the incidence of shivering in patients using the spinal block anesthesia technique, with a p-value of 0.000 (p0.05) and a value of r=0.872. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that there is a very strong relationship between the duration of surgery and the occurrence of shivering in postoperative patients using the spinal anesthesia technique at RSI Masyithoh Bangil

The purpose of this study was to measure the ability of nurses to identify the severity of trauma and evaluate the improvement in their abilities after an intervention in the form of learning and simulation.MethodThe method used in this study is a quasi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest design approach. The research will use the Peterongan Health Center in Jombang Regency. The total population is 26 nurses. Respondents used are 25 nurses. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling.ResultsPretest data on the ability of nurses to identify the severity of trauma showed that most (68%) were in the poor category. Posttest data on the ability of nurses to identify the severity of trauma showed that most (84%) were in the Good Category.AnalysisAnalysis of the data used in this study using the Wilcoxon sign Rank test showed the value of the 2 tiled sign of 0.000. This shows that there is a significant difference between the pretest and posttest data.DiscussionNurse's ability to identify severity. Measurements were carried out and identified based on the cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains.
