Abstract

Indonesia has a great opportunity to use technological developments in the current 4th industrial revolution. The opportunity is based on the fact that from the total population of Indonesia, more than half of them are active internet users. The largest group of internet users in Indonesia is at the age of students, these groups of students are in the middle to college student level. To occupy the need for technology-based learning, it is necessary to modify and have some innovations to various learning tools in learning activities. This qualitative descriptive research will discuss the use of technology-based learning media with Quizizz as an application in English learning lecturing process. This study involved students of the 1st level of accounting study program who had passed English Class at the Universitas Islam Kadiri-Kediri (UNISKA). In general, the results of the study indicate that English lecturing process using the Quizizz is a fun and effective activity so that it is expected to continue to be used in further lecturing activities.

Abstract

The world development has entered the Globalization and Industrial Revolution 4.0 era. People are required to have new literacy skills for facing some changes in their life. The new literacy skills are data literacy, technological literacy, and human literacy, as a basic capital for taking part in social life. One of the abilities that need to be owned and has an important role in an individual's competitive advantage is the ability to lead the society. One way to develop this capability is through the application of agile leadership models. This leadership model can create a figure of leader who is calm, adaptable, innovative, always learning from experience and give feedback, helpful, smart to see opportunities, adaptive, agile, open-minded and have a high ambiguity acceptance while still maintaining the productivity and achievement of the company's main goals at the same time. The agile leadership model should be considered to be applied in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era because the fast-changing world requires a figure of leader who is calm, adaptable, innovative, always learning from experience and give feedback and motivate to help others and think for next generation.Keywords: Agile Leadership, Competitive Advantage, Globalization, Industrial Revolution 4.0 era

Abstract

The Asean Economic Community (AEC) and the World Trade Organization (WTO) are challenges that need to be faced by higher education administrators. Higher education graduates are required to have the ability for facing the global competition. One of the skills that needs to be mastered is communication in using international languages. It must provide by study program to deliver in English teaching program. Currently, lecturers' perspectives serve to shape the teaching of English for Specific Purposes (ESP). Learning Needs Analysis is supposed to create the basis of ESP English instruction. Based on that problem, research was carried out to conduct a learning needs analysis for ESP English learners to determine appropriate learning design recommendations. This research uses a qualitative approach with interviews, observation, and closed-ended questionnaires as data collection techniques. This research shows the most appropriate English learning design for accounting students is to focus on speaking skill. It should be applied in active classes activity; students centered and the role of the lecturer as a facilitator. These elements aim to improve the self-quality of students and prepare them for future career.

Abstract

Digital games are not only used as stress relievers but are often used as learning media. And one of the digital games used as a learning medium is wordwall. wordwall is a web-based digital game application that provides various features such as matching information, images, quizzes, wheel of fortune, puzzles, etc. and can be used for teaching, including teaching English vocabulary. And the aim of this research is to find out What games do teachers often use to support vocabulary learning, What is teacher's perception of the use and suitability of digital game content to support vocabulary learning, What obstacles do teachers face when using digital games to support vocabulary learning , What solutions can be done to overcome these obstacles. This research was carried out in 3 elementary schools in the city of Kediri, including: SD Negeri Kaliombo, SDN Ngronggo 3, and SDN Ngronggo 6. Apart from that, the method used in this research is a qualitative research method with the data collection techniques used are interviews, observation and documentation. The results of this research are that wordwall is a digital game that can be used to support vocabulary learning. And learning carried out using digital games is very effective and interesting with a variety of content available and appropriate to the level of students. Even so, there are still several obstacles when using digital games, such as: limited time, slow internet connection, and difficulty managing students. And to overcome these obstacles, teachers will organize as much time as possible to create lesson materials, provide personal internet data, and form students into small groups.

Abstract

This study aims to find problems that influenced the student’s speaking difficulties in English Specific Purposes especially in the accounting field. The results are necessary to find some solutions so it can graduate qualified students who are ready for facing some futures career challenge. Nowadays interpersonal communications skill is required for employees. This research conducted in the accounting study program and the students as key informants. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. According to the findings, internal and external factors both have an influence on students’ speaking difficult. The recommendations from this research are by creating good emotional relationships between teacher and students, conducting students cantered learning, and fun cooperative learning.

Abstract

Education is one of the sectors of life that has been affected by the global pandemic. As an attempt to stop the spread of the Covid-19 virus, one of the policies implemented by the Indonesian Ministry of Education is online learning. It is can be a triggered acceleration of education digitalization in Indonesia. Technology-based learning media and applications have been applied at the Universitas Islam Kadiri (UNISKA Kediri) during online learning in the pandemic era. UNISKA Kediri develops learning media in the form of a Learning Management System (LMS UNISKA) based on Moodle for lecture activities. One of the popular teaching media used as online learning is Microsoft Office 365 A1. This research aimed to prove the use of Microsoft Office 365 - A1 as online English teaching and learning media, especially in academic reading lesson and its challenges. The research was carried out at the English Education study program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, UNISKA Kediri. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach. The data collection was carried out by interview, field observation and documentation. After data collection. The data validation through a data triangulation process with a source triangulation model. The results showed that the implementation of teaching and learning using Microsoft 365 – A1 in academic reading lesson have been applied during the COVID-19 pandemic, the obstacles both lecturer and students have problem on their ability for adapting the habitual in online teaching and learning process. From the study can be concluded that using Office 365 A1 on Academic Reading in the English Education study program UNISKA Kediri helps students in conducting online lectures during the COVID 19 pandemic. The use of learning media according to the needs of learners is very effective in achieving learning objectives.

Abstract

This article delves into the phenomenon of thesis-related anxiety among eighth-semester students at Kadiri Islamic University in Indonesia in writing final project. It highlights anxiety as a notable psychological barrier that impedes effective thesis writing. The research investigates the factors contributing to this anxiety, including fear of negative evaluation, time pressure, language difficulties, and more. The research methodology encompasses a descriptive quantitative approach involving various stages, such as preliminary research, instrument development, validation, data collection, analysis, and conclusion. Through questionnaires and data analysis, the most prevalent anxiety factors are identified. Furthermore, the article explores the strategies students employ to mitigate thesis-related anxiety. The study identifies preparation, relaxation, positive thinking, and resignation as the main coping mechanisms. By analyzing the scores of the questionnaire responses, the article reveals the most commonly adopted strategies. Notably, preparation emerges as the primary strategy, followed by resignation, positive thinking, peer seeking, and relaxation. This article contributes to the understanding of the emotional and psychological aspects of academic writing and provides valuable information for educators and institutions seeking to support students during this critical phase of their academic journey.

Abstract

Digital economic transformation which is the impact of technological development changes the perspective of Indonesian on economic behavior. The use of technology in economics activity is increasing nowadays. It impacts on the development of the economic sectors. Macro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) one of the business roles in Indonesia have to do some innovation for its existing in today's trading world.  The strategy that can be implemented for facing that case is by adapting the technology use and enhancing the quality of human resources through increasing competence and skills. Considering that the performance of an organization is determined by the human resources it has.  Community service program through Integrated Training; Vocabulary Building & Accounting (VOCABING)-Based Technology needs to be held for MSMEs in Kediri. These activities include training in English and the Use of Accounting Technology for improving MSMEs skill. it is based on vocabulary mastery which influence the ability to understand the complex information and instructions. The activity held two days series through four steps; planning, implementation, evaluations, and reporting. For proving the training’s goals, it used tests and assessment. The results showed that there was an increase of 12.5% in the final English test score and participants completed the work instruction assessment correctly.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to assess how effectively the English for Specific Purposes (ESP) program prepares accounting students for job opportunities. The goal of the ESP program is to provide students with the English language proficiency required in the profession, particularly in the accounting industry, which frequently deals with foreign reporting and global standards. Students, lecturers, and graduates of the accounting study program were surveyed and interviewed as part of this mixed-methods study. The findings demonstrate that the ESP program improves the students' understanding of English-language accounting terminology and their abilities for professional communication in a global environment. However, the survey also found a number of obstacles, including lecturers' lack of training and time limits. These results suggest that the ESP curriculum should be updated to emphasize speaking communication skills and practical aspects, and that lecturers' training be improved in order to fulfil the needs of industry.

Abstract

High motivation and interest in the teaching and learning process are important factors in achieving learning objectives. Lecturers in the classroom have a very important role in achieving these objectives. Lecturers must use a creative, innovative, and modern learning approach in order to achieve learning objectives. Research with the aim of providing a breakthrough as a role model for technology-based English teaching and learning activities in the context of English for Specific Purpose (ESP) needs to be applied to answer these problems. This research is a qualitative type with a descriptive approach supported by quantitative data through a quasi-experimental design. The research subjects implemented by the Word-wall game in learning were carried out by lecturers through five stages. The use of the Word-wall game in learning activities significantly increased students' English vocabulary scores. The results of the study showed that the Word-wall game is an effective and interesting learning media to improve students' English vocabulary mastery and has an effect on increasing student motivation and participation in class to learning process.
