Abstract

The aim of this research is to assess how effectively the English for Specific Purposes (ESP) program prepares accounting students for job opportunities. The goal of the ESP program is to provide students with the English language proficiency required in the profession, particularly in the accounting industry, which frequently deals with foreign reporting and global standards. Students, lecturers, and graduates of the accounting study program were surveyed and interviewed as part of this mixed-methods study. The findings demonstrate that the ESP program improves the students' understanding of English-language accounting terminology and their abilities for professional communication in a global environment. However, the survey also found a number of obstacles, including lecturers' lack of training and time limits. These results suggest that the ESP curriculum should be updated to emphasize speaking communication skills and practical aspects, and that lecturers' training be improved in order to fulfil the needs of industry.

Abstract

Asset management requires a special method for its implementation so that the management information system can run optimally. The goal is for the system to be developed in the form of web-based software in an effort to optimize asset tracking at private Islamic religious colleges. The Analytical Hierarchy Process offers an alternative priority scale that will facilitate the decision-making process. This study will use a qualitative approach with the Research and Development method as a strategic step. The research object was conducted in two places, namely Hasyim Asy'ari University and the Bani Fattah Islamic Institute, Jombang. The results of the study show that both universities currently still rely on a manual system using Excel which is inadequate in terms of classification and automation. Hasyim Asy'ari University has a more structured approach to asset classification, while the Bani Fattah Islamic Institute, Jombang has not implemented systematic asset categorization. The four main stages in asset management are planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating. Both universities face challenges in organizing and implementing asset management because there is no special information system. In addition, the evaluation process is carried out manually through periodic inventory checks, thus limiting efficiency in decision-making. This study proposes the development of a structured web-based asset management system with a clear framework for system design, implementation, and testing. The integration of Waterfall and AHP methodologies is expected to improve efficiency, data organization, and decision-making in asset management. This study contributes to this field by offering a strategic approach to move from a manual asset management system to an automated asset management system, which ensures better resource utilization and administrative efficiency.

This community service activity aims to increase public awareness and understanding of the importance of productive waqf management in supporting orphan education. Based on existing data, orphan education in Indonesia still faces major challenges in terms of funding, so economic empowerment efforts are needed through productive waqf. This activity was carried out through seminars and training based on service learning and ABCD (Asset-Based Community Development), which involved speakers from waqf experts and sharia financial practitioners. Participants consisted of academics, waqf managers, and community leaders. The activity began with a socialization of the concept of productive waqf, followed by a simulation of waqf asset management planning. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in participant understanding, with 85% of participants claiming to be able to design a productive waqf management model for orphan education. This activity successfully introduced waqf-based solutions as an economic empowerment instrument to support orphan education in a sustainable manner.
