Abstract

Sterile dosage forms are pharmaceutical preparations that require to be free of microorganisms and particles. In health services, sterile preparations often undergo a series of changes in form from their original conditions to new products through dissolution or mixing with other sterile preparations. To maintain sterility, sterile preparation dispensing skills are needed. Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia No. 72 of 2016 and No. 74 of 2016 concerning Pharmaceutical Service Standards in Hospitals and Health Centers are intended to improve the quality of pharmaceutical services, guarantee legal certainty for pharmacists and protect patients and the public from irrational drug use in the context of patient safety. Pharmaceutical service standards in hospitals cover the management of pharmaceutical preparations, medical devices, consumable medical materials and clinical pharmacy services. One of the standards in clinical pharmacy services is aseptic/sterile dispensing sterile. The community service aims to increase the knowledge and skills of pharmacists at Bandar Lampung health facilities and its surroundings in managing sterile preparations. The community service is held through a webinar with a zoom platform followed by discussion and aseptic dispensing demonstration. The sterile dispensing demonstration are carried out by dividing the participants into four groups in the breakout room and each group was guided by a facilitator. In this activity, participants were provided with material on formulation, compatibility, and stability of pharmaceutical preparations, dispensing sterile preparations, aseptic techniques, and problems in sterile dispensing sterile at the hospital. The activity was attended by 63 pharmacists from 25 hospitals in Bandar Lampung and its surroundings, also academics in Tanjung Karang. The evaluation results showed an increase in participants' knowledge of 19,3% and participants expected that activities could be carried out periodically with various topics. The activities are expected to improve the patient's health status and enhance the role of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Airlangga University in the National Health System.

Abstract

Stress is a condition that triggers a change in behavior and physiological state, affecting mental health. Beta-Ionone is a monocyclic terpenoid compound that can lower stress levels. However, there is a lack of studies about the anti-stress capability of Beta-Ionone inhalation, although Beta-Ionone is commonly used as a fragrance in perfumes. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of Beta-Ionone addition as the fragrance in perfumes on mice stress. The Beta-Ionone perfume was formulated with Bergamot Oil, Lavender Oil, Eucalyptus Oil, Tea Tree Oil, and Patchouli Oil to produce Fem, Fem-Ion (Fem + Beta-Ionone), Masc, and Masc-Ion (Fem + Beta-Ionone), which had different preferable odors. The anti-stress effectivity was then evaluated in stress induced mice, which were restrained for one hour every day for one week. The perfumes were then given by inhalation every alternate day. The stress level of the mice was evaluated using a tail suspension test and serum cortisol level assays. The results showed that inhalation of the perfumes lowered the immobility time of mice in the tail suspension test, albeit the addition of Beta Ionone did not give a significant difference. Based on the results of serum cortisol level, there was a substantial decrease in serum cortisol by inhaling the Fem and Fem-Ion, showing decreases in stress level. However, there were increases in serum cortisol levels for Masc and Masc-Ion, indicating stress induction, which was suggested to be caused by 1,8-cineole, a compound in the Eucalyptus oil as the perfume oil components.

Abstract

Self-medication practice can result in medication errors due to limited public knowledge of pharmaceutical medicine, especially among school-aged adolescents, who are prohibited from doing self-medication. This study aimed to evaluate the students' knowledge and understanding of pharmaceutical medicine, pharmacists, and self-medication, and also the awareness to be wise and smart in responding to the use of pharmaceutical products for maintaining public health. The study was carried out by conducting the lecture on drugs and self-medication through a classical presentation and comic story to students of SDN Keputih 245 Elementary School and SMPN 19 Junior High School, Surabaya. Moreover, DAGUSIBU dance was also practiced. The students actively engaged in the class during the presentation. The results of the pre-and post-test evaluations showed that this lecture method had succeeded in increasing junior high school students' knowledge about medicine and DAGUSIBU. On the other hand, the pre-test scores of Elementary School students were better than the post-test, except for new knowledge related to the drug logo and classification. It suggests that the delivery methods were inappropriate for elementary school students. It can be concluded that school-age adolescents, especially in elementary and junior high schools, need assistance during self-medication. This community service activity by a presentation and comic telling methods successfully improved the knowledge of SMPN 19 Junior High School about drugs and DAGUSIBU; however, it needs a more straightforward explanation with attractive learning methods for delivering a lecture to Elementary School students.

Abstract

CV. Tunggal Jaya Mandiri is a manufacturing company that produces furniture in the Jetis sub-district, Mojokerto Regency. The products it makes are pretty well known by the public in the market even though it has many competitors in the same field. In 2022, sales fluctuated and did not reach the target. This is because the company currently does not have proper strategic planning. Therefore, it is necessary to have good strategic planning using three stages of strategy preparation: the input stage, the matching stage, and the decision stage. The input stage is used to identify environmental factors internally and externally using the IFE, EFE, and CPM matrices. At the matching set, SWOT and Internal-External matrices are used. The results obtained from the calculations are the total weighted IFE value of 2.72 and EFE of 2.75. The IE matrix shows the company's position in quadrant V. For this quadrant position; the appropriate strategy is to maintain it through market penetration and product development. The alternative approach obtained is processed into the decision stage with the QSPM matrix, and the primary system is to innovate technology-based furniture products with a TAS value of 6.45.

Abstract
