Abstract

(Title: Early Brainstorming With Origami For Children) The purpose of this paper is to uncover the usefulness of origami as an effective way of early brainstorming for children. The method used is to involve the children in the origami training activities as a form of community service. Training is not done in the usual way, but done principally on the four basic brainstorming guidelines so that the nature of the training is not up-bottom but bottom-up. This principle is not done strictly considering the participants are children. This means that mentor involvement is still needed to encourage participants to come up with ideas on how to fold the paper and shape it into the intended shape effectively and efficiently. The result of this training is origami can be an alternative way in improving creativity and courage of children in expressing ideas.

Abstract

Kata kunci : Alphabet, hiragana, katakana, kanji, romajiABSTRACTIn this industrial era 0.4, the existence of foreign languages is very much needed for communication and of course understanding the culture of other countries. One of them is Japanese. To understand vocabulary in Japanese, we must first understand the letters / writings. Japanese writing comes from Chinese writing which was introduced in the fourth century. There are 4 types of Japanese letters, namely hiragana, katakana, kanji, and romaji. We often find these letters/characters in animated films, anime, manga, Japanese dramas and others. The Japanese language we know today, is written using a combination of kanji, hiragana, and katakana characters. Kanji are used to express the basic meaning of words (either in the form of nouns, verbs, adjectives). Hiragana is written after the kanji to change the basic meaning of the word, and adapt it to the rules of Japanese grammar. The hiragana and katakana characters each have 46 letters. Both do not have any meaning, like the alphabet in Indonesian, only symbolizing a certain sound, although there are also words in Japanese that consist of one 'syllable'. Kanji are used to express the basic meaning of words, whether in the form of nouns, verbs, adjectives, or articles. While Hiragana is written after the kanji to change the basic meaning of the word, and adapt it to the rules of Japanese grammar. Keywords :Alphabet, hiragana, katakana, kanji, romaji

Abstract

Japanese Caligraphy – Shodo, is a work of art that expresses the beauty of kanji characters on paper by writing using brushstrokes. The art of calligraphy is popular in Japan from elementary school children to the elderly and already widespread in the world. The tools used during shodo include shitajiki, bunchin, suzuri, sumi, and fude. At the beginning of  shodo, one must pay attention to his posture and hand to get good results. It is strongly advised so that the result can be as good as it is written with Japanese brush/fude. There are some various kinds of Japanese shodo, such as kaishou, gyousho, shousho. Usually shodo can be seen in some Japanese traditional events, such as Japanese wedding ceremony, Japanese tea ceremony room, in houses during new year, etc.
