Abstract

 ABSTRACT The  meaning  media  as  mediator  or  connector  between     receiver  of  message  or information. Media  also  as  form  for  deliver  the  infotmation. Based  on  the  observation and interview, the teacher in SMAN 1 V Koto Kampung Dalam in the school, do not use the handout that begin with concept map. The students only using a book colour, so do not appropriate with the real object and do not use the concept map. Concept map is a note production technique with using words in one point or concept of a mind that arranged in a connected with one pattern. The purpose of this research is resulted the handout that begin with concept map to structure and function of plants network valid and practice.The research develop by using model 4-D, consist of four step: define, design, develop and disseminate, but in this research only in develop step because of limited cost. Handout research that begin with concept map in structure and function of plants network for SMA which have been developed to be expressed in valid and practice category with the average in the validity by the lecturer and teacher the result 82,71% with valid category. Test practicalities of teachers the average is 85.56% with practice category. Test practicalities by the student, the average is 83,53% with practice category. Based on the result which obtained that handout that begin with concept map  already develop is  valid and  practice  for  teacher and students.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Handout is written form which prepared by the teacher for enrichment the knowledge of the students. Teaching material such a handout can be category as media of learning. Based on the observation and interview which have been conducted that in MTsN Lumpo class IX in 1 semester have never used a handout in learning process. They are only use the book that serve of the school and have limited quantity and also that book do not have a colour picture. The purpose of this reseach to resulted handout that begin with concept map in human reproduction  system  material which valid and practice. This reseach is development with use the development consists of 4-D models, that is define step, design step, develop step, and disseminate step, but in this reseach only in the develop step because of the limited the time and cost. The subject of this reseach consist of 4 validator, and two biology teachers for test practicalities and 24 student of MTsN Lumpo class IX in reproduction system material. The data of this reseach is a primary data that get from questionnaire and practicalities validity, then analysis with descriptive analysis. The result of this reseach have been got the validity by the lecturer and teacher  around 89,49% with valid criteria. The result of practicalities  test by the teacher and student get the average around  93,33% and92,27% with practice criteria. In conclusion that the teaching material  such handout that begin with concept map in human reproduction system material for MTsN was valid and very practice.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The source that is used by student in science learning proses is student’s worksheet (LKS). Student’s worksheet that available in SMPN 29 Padang is made or designed by MGMP Teacher’s science, which is that student’s worksheet does not have the interest design. The picture yhat is given on worksheet does not have color and less clear. Picture instruction and picture still less clear. The material in science learning at eight grade in SMP about human’s growth and development. Based on this case, this research has purpose to make student’s worksheet (LKS) that have validity and simple picture on the human growth and development material for SMP. This research had done in SMPN 29 Padang at eight grade, on January academic year 2013/2014. This research is development research, about development on student’s worksheet that have 4-dimension picture model which is modified, they are define, design, and development. The data of research is primary data, includes validity and practical that is analyzrd by descriptive analysis is percentage. The student’s worksheet (LKS) has validity value is 80,75%. It means that is acceptted by validator based on didactic, construction, and also technique. It has result practical value around 78,60% from teacher, and 81,98% student that resultis named practical the conclusion that student’s worksheet (LKS) is validity and practical

Abstract

ABSTRACT Instructional media can be defined as the means for facilitating the teaching and learning activities. They can be facilities which provides the students with visual experience to motivate them to learn, explain and simplify the abstract complicated concepts into simpler, more concrete  and more understandable ones. They generate the students’ curiosity, motivate and stimulate them to learn. The media used previously, however, had made the students got bored so that they were not interested in paying attention to the teachers explaining the lesson in front of the class. To deal with this problem, comic instructional media for teaching human neural system which  was  intended  to  motivate the  students  to  learn  and  to  improve  their  learning  interest  was developed. This research was aimed at revealing the validity and the practicality of the instructional media. This was a developmental research which used 4-D models that consisted of four developmental stages including defining, designing, developing and disseminating. For the limitation of time and budget, in this research, however, disseminating phase was excluded. The media developed were validated by t wo lecturers and two teachers of SMP Pertiwi Siteba Padang. The practicality of the media was seen from the responses given by two teachers and 25 students in class IX-1 of Junior High School. The result of data analysis indicated that the comic media developed was valid in which the validity value was 78,33%. The validity was viewed from didactic, construction and technical variables. The result of the practicality test from the teachers showed that the comic media was practical in which the practicality value was 78,55%, while the result of the practicality test from the students indicated that the comic media was very practical in which the practicality value was 88,05%. The practicality was viewed from the students’ interests, the pictures displayed in t he media, the process of using the media, material and conceptual understanding, time efficiency and evaluation. Based on these results, it was concluded that the comic instructional media developed for teaching human neural system had been valid and practical.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The assessment based on the class developed to give encouragement for teacher. To teach more systematic and aimed, but teacher still have difficulty in doing assessment based on the class. This because of decrease information about assessment based on the class that teacher gets. The assessment have purposed to know the level of troubles that biology teacher class XI   SMA at Bukittinggi faced in implementation of assessment based on the class and also to know what’s the difficulty which biology teacher class XI SMA at Bukittinggi encountered for doing assessment based on the class. A kind of this research is descriptive. In this research have 6 samples of biology teacher class XI who scattered from 5 schools for SMA at Bukittinggi in 2014. This research do a validity of questionnaire test biology teacher in implementation of assessment based on the class gets a valid output. The result of this research is the difficulty that biology teacher class XI SMA at Bukittinggi fronting have realization output 83,15% include in less difficult, and the level of difficult about 16,85%. In totally, the assessment based on the class that doing be able to find a result for assessment written test as not difficult category.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Handout is teaching material that is give to students for learning process. Teacher can make it from literatures which have relevance with basic competence of students. Based on observation had been done in MAN Sangir, South Solok Regency. It was found that they rarely used handout in teaching learning process. They only used common textbook which has uninteresting pictures. Student should understand the concept of the material by using mind map. The aim of this research was to produce a pictorial handout with mind map in protista material that is valid and practical. This is development research which consist of 4-D models, they are define, design and develop. Furthermore, the primary data is taken from lecturers, teachers and students. The data was analyzed by using descriptive analysis. The result of research produced handout which has validity 85,65%. That was determines from didactic, construction and technique. Then, practical criteria of it were 88% from teacher and 80,83% from students. It was determine from handout  forms,  contents  and  motivation.  Therefore,  learning  media  which  is  constructed  in pictorial handout that completed with mind map for teaching and learning process of protista that was produced was valid and practical.

Abstract

ABSTRACT                                                                             Internal and  external  factors  are  factors that  exist  in  each  of the  individual  itself.  Many  factors influence the results of learning biology of the students, including internal and external factors. Based on the observations that have done by the researcher at Junior High School 2 Bayang there were information that the students got difficulty in biology from internal such as lack of interest, motivation, time management, and maintaining health. Then, from external such as lack of attention from parents and less environmental support caused students were lazy to learn. Consequently directly and indirectly have an effect to the students’ achievement. The purpose of this research was to review internal and external factors the causes of students’ difficulties in learning Biology for grade VIII Junior High School 2 Bayang Pesisir Selatan Regency.The design of this research was descriptive. The population of this research was the students for grade VIII Junior High School 2 Bayang Pesisir Selatan Regency in academic year 2013/2014 and the total number of the students was 203. Then, the sample was 30% or 61 students from 203 students. The technique was random sampling. Each student was randomly taken by using a lottery. The lottery will be drawn as the research sample.The percentages of the data based on the findings of this research were internal factors 66,03% with influential criteria, for external factors were: percentage of family factor 75,7% with influential criteria, percentage of school factor 65,9% with influential criteria, percentage of society factors 71,32% wit h influential criteria. It can be concluded that the external factors gave the greater impact to the students’ difficulties in learning Biology for grade VIII Junior High School 2 Bayang Pesisir Selatan Regency by percentage 70,97%.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The assessment based on the class orienting to competence that want to attain in learning activity in the class. A variety of various assessment based on the class, such as: written test (paper and pencil test), giving assignment, performance assessment, project assessment, product assessment, attitude (affective), and  the collection of assignment of the students (portfolio). The teacher still gets trouble in doing assessment based on the class. That’s because of decrease information that teacher gets. The goal of this assessment is to know about level difficulty and what are troubles that biology teacher class XI SMA at Padang faced in implementation assessment based on the class. A kind of this research is descriptive. Population and sample in this research is 23 biology teacher XI who spread 16 schools from all of SMA at Padang in 2014. This research doing by questionnaire test of difficulty biology teacher in implementation of assessment based on the class by validator that obtained is valid criteria. The result of assessment is the implementation of assessment based on the class percentage that showed by biology teacher class XI SMA at Padang about 82, 50% with less difficult category, so difficulty percentage of teacher just 17,5%. In all of assessment, only written test which categorized not difficult.

Abstract

The background to the development of guided inquiry-based LKPD is the incompatibility of the LKPD used with the proper LKPD criteria. This study aims to determine the feasibility of guided inquiry-based worksheets seen from the aspects of feasibility of content, language, didactics, and graphics by validators/educators, and to know the practicality of guided inquiry-based worksheets by educators and students. This research is a development research using a modelFour-D (4-D) The research instruments used were: (1) LKPD validity test questionnaire by validators and study field teachers, (2) practicality test questionnaire by educators and students. The results of the LKPD validation research by lecturers and educators obtained a percentage of 91.8% with very valid criteria. The practicality test results by educators obtained a percentage of 84.3% with very practical criteria. Student Worksheet Practicality Test Results obtained a percentage of 86.1% with very practical criteria.

Abstract

The Women Farmers Group (KWT) Bunda Atirah in Surau Gadang, Nanggalo District, Padang City, plays a significant role in enhancing family economy through various activities. This group has successfully engaged in hydroponic farming, poultry farming, and growing secondary crops. Additionally, KWT Bunda Atirah has taken steps to manage organic waste by cultivating maggots, which are used as an alternative feed in livestock and aquaculture. The demand for maggots as fish feed in Lake Maninjau reaches 2.5 tons per month, presenting an opportunity for KWT members. However, the lack of expertise and information has hindered the implementation of maggot cultivation. To address these challenges, a Community Partnership Program (PKM) with the assistance of lecturers from the Applied Biology and Biology Education Study Program of PGRI University Sumatera Barat (UPGRISBA) was initiated. The program involves providing maggot eggs, constructing maggot cages, and training KWT members in maggot cultivation. The training, attended by 23 KWT members, was well received and is expected to inspire the community to manage organic waste and generate income through maggot cultivation.
