Abstract

ABSTRACT There were many problem found on IPA learning. That problem caused the students’ activities to be low. Then the factors that made this situation were teacher center learning, the index of students’ team work and the number of book text of IPA subject found low. So, the discussion and asking method with learning material was used to solve that problem. This was an action research. The research has been done on MTsN Koto XI Tarusan. It was started on Mei to June. This research formulated on two cycles. The subject of research was VIII. C with 40 students. The aim of the research was to increase students’ learning activity on biology subject. The result of research found average of students’ activity was 42,26% on the first cycle and 78,21% on the second cycle. That means the students’ activity was increased. So, it can be concluded the students’ activity had been increased by applied the discussion and asking method with learning material on VII. C in MTsN Koto XI Tarusan

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe lack of interest and students motivation to study biology lead them to get low achievement. This case can see from the students average learning outcomes of biology at SMPN 38 Sijunjung grade seven which gotten score below the Minimum Completeness Criteria (MCC). One of reason is the lack variation of the strategy by the teacher, therefore learning process is monotonous. To solve this problem need to apply the strategy that can make students be active and get motivation in learning process. This research has purpose to know the effect the by using implementation Scrambled Groups strategy on students learning outcomes of biology at SMPN 38 Sijunjung grade seven academic year 2012/2013. This research is experiment. The population is students grade seven at SMPN 38 Sijunjung that listed in the academic year 2012/2013 which consists of two classes. Both of these classes were sampled (saturated sampling), to determine experimental class and control class conducted the draw, which was chosen to be experimental is class VII1 and control class is VII2. The instrument used was a test. Student learning outcomes and obtained an average value of 77,23 experimental class and control class 67,72. Data analysis was to test the similarity of the two premises mean t-test at the 0.05 significance level. Based on the analysis of data obtained the price 2,03 tcount 1.67 ttable. This means that tcount > ttable, therefore the hypothesis is accepted. Therefore the implementation of Scrambled Groups strategy can improve the learning outcomes of students in biology at SMPN 38 Sijunjung grade seven academic year 2012/2013.

Abstract

                                                       ABSTRACT            The lack of students understanding of the topic of biology that presented by teacher lead them to get low achievement. This case can see from the students average learning outcomes of  biology at MTsN Pakan Rabaa grade seven which gotten score below Minimum Completeness Criteria ( MCC ). One of reason is less of motivation students to study because learning process only dominate by the teacher therefore students often make noisy in the classroom. Interaction between students and teacher is not condusive or there is no feedback between them, beside that the topic is too dificult to understand. To solve this problem, the researcher used Spotlight strategy to apply. This research is experiment which used  Randomized Control – Group Postest Only Design. The population is all of students at MTsN Pakan Rabaa grade seven academic year 2012/2013 which consist of three classes. Sampling technique that used purposive sampling technique and that chosen as the experimental class are a class VII A and control class VII B. Instrument in this study is a test of student learning outcomes and obtained an average value of 76.40 experimental class and control class 56.27. Based on the analysis of data obtained by the price that has been done tcount = 6.47 > ttable = 1.88 it means that the research hypothesis H1 is accepted. Therefore Spotlight strategy can improve learning outcomes of biology at MTsN Pakan Rabaa grade seven.

Abstract

ABSTRACT  The background of the research is motivated by the low results obtained studying biology students. This is caused by the lack of student motivation in learning biology and considers it boring biology class because the material is rote. Realizing that the author implementing learning by applying strategy synergetic teaching. The purpose of the research to determine the effect of the application of strategies active learning type Synergetic Teaching on learning outcomes of student.The type of research is experimental. The population in this study were students of class XI IPA 1 SMAN 1 Sungai Limau Pariaman Academic Year2012/2013. The research was conducted in May 2013. The design of this study isRandomized Control-Group Posttest Only Desingn.  The analysis of the average values obtained experimental class 78,87   and control class 73,83. Hypothesis testing using t-test values obtained t (2.72)> t table (with a 1.72 significance level0.05) means that the hypothesis is accepted. From the analysis of the data whichhave been obtained can be concluded that the use of learning strategies synergetic teaching biology to improve learning outcomes of students in class XI IPA 1SMAN 1 Sungai Limau Kabupaten Padang Pariaman.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The less studententhusiasm for learningresulted inmanyof hisstudentswhoare lessactivein following thebiologicallearning process. Students whoare active inthe learningprocessis thefollowingstudents whohavehighacademic ability, while studentswhohavelow academicabilityonlyacceptinformation submittedby the teacher. The less student understandingof the materialpresented by the teacherresulted inlow yieldsbiological spending the36eighth grade students ofSMPNPadangAcademic Year2012/2013. Still below the minimum completeness criteria (KKM) is 70. One alternative to overcome this problem is the application of active learning statemant type true or false. This study aims to improve the results of biological studies at the Junior High School eighth grade students in the Academic Year 36 Padang 2012/2013.This type of research is experimental research. The population in this study were 36 eighth grade students of SMPN Padang Academic Year 2012/2013 consisting of 3 classes. Sampling using purposive sampling, in order to obtain samples of the 2-class class VIII.3 as VIII.1 as experimental and control classes.The instrument usedwas atestof student learning out comesandthe averagevalues obtainedexperimental class70,95 andclasscontrol 59,62. Techniques of data analysis is the average similarity by testing  t-test at the 0.05 significance level. The results of the data analysis obtained while the price t 2.89 1.70 t table. This means t count> t table, so the hypothesis is accepted. From this study it can be concluded that the application of learning strategies statement true or false can improve learning outcomes biology class VIII SMPN 36 Padang academic year 2012/2013.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe low student learning outcomes due to the lack of biological activity of students , lack of facilities and infrastructure in schools and students in understanding the difficulty of the material being studied . One way to improve student learning outcomes by applying active methods type Guided Note Taking . This study aimed to determine the effect of the application of active methods type Guided Note Taking on learning outcomes biology class VII SMPN 3 South Solok the academic year 2012/2013.This type of research is experimental research . The population in this study were students of class VII SMPN 3 South Solok the academic year 2012/2013 which consists of 4 classes . Sampling was purposive sampling techniques , in order to obtain samples of the class 2 class VII.B as the experimental class and the control class VII.D class . From the results of experimental studies it appears that the class average value of 73.13 while the control class had an average score of 56.48 .the result of hypothesis test obtained ttable the level of confidence 95%= (α=0,05) is 1,67 and tacount =7,43 it meant tacount>ttable therefore, the hypothesis in this  search is received . It can be concluded that the type of active learning methods Guided Note Taking biology to improve learning outcomes of students of class VII SMPN 3 South Solok the academic year 2012/2013 .

Abstract

ABSTRACT        Learning process was the core of formal education through which the teacher, learning materials and students interacted. The first was considered as the one who played the main role especially. One of the materials which required the students to do practice was fungus topics. Related to this, teacher developed learning material which was accompanied with representative and contextual pictures in order to help the students do practicum. This research was aimed at producing a manual which was valid and practical for teaching fungus topics to the Senior High School students. This was an experimental research which referred to 4-D model. The result of theresearch  indicated that the manual which was accompanied with pictures produced was valid and very practical.

Abstract

ABSTRACT  This research is motivated by the study is still dominated by the teacher, only a few students pay  attention to the teacher’s explanation. Besides, some of them are not motivated and less interested in participating in the learning process. Most of them enjoy with their own activities. In this case, the avarage of mid term student in the academic year 2010/2011 and 2011/2012 is under KKM (75) for reproductive system. The purpose of this research is to know the influence of application by Using Business Technique get at risk Towards The Biology Achievement for The XI students in SMAN 1 Koto Baru regency of Dharmasraya. The Kind of this research is experiment. By using Randomized Cantrol Group Postest Only Design. The population in this research is the whole students of XI science who register for second semester in SMAN 1 Koto Baru in the academic year   2012/2013. The test used in Objective test with a reliability test is        =0,92. Techniques of data analysis used the test (t). Based on the analysis of data found that the two classes are normally distributed and homogenous samples. Theresult of hypothesis test obtained            the level of confidence 95% = (α = 0,05)is 1,67 and  = 11,27 it means  >            Therefore, the hypothesis in this research is received. Based on the hypothesis, the writer conclude that the influence  of  application  by  using  business  technique  get  at  risk  towards  the biology  achievement  for  the  XI  student  in  SMAN  1  Koto  Baru  regency  of Dharmasraya.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research motivated by the lack of students learning outcomes biology because of a lack of understanding and mastery of the subject matter on the subjects reproduction system and the student tend to be passive and less participate in the study. One of the strategies that cab be used to increase the Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) with Mind Mapping fortheir homework. This study in a experimental study with randomized research design posttest only control group design. Population in this study were all students of class XI IPA SMAN 5 Padang enrolled in the second semester of academic year 2012/2013. Sampling done in order to Purposive Sampling. As a result it was found that class XI IPA1 and IPA2  sampel. Sampel was selected by the equal of the students mean score than taken randomly with as a class experiment IPA1 and IPA2 class control. Purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the type  learning strategies Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) with Mind Mapping fortheir homework on learning outcomes biology class XI IPA SMAN 5 Padang. The results showed that student classroom experiment is higher than the control class. Based on the hypothesis t-test count rates obtained (3,95) > ttabel (1,67) this means that the hypothesis is accepted. It can be concluded that the learning outcomes of students in learning biology using learning strategies type Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) with Mind Mapping fortheir homework is better than conventional learning.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The students’ lack of motivation in learning was assumed as the cause of their low achievement in Biology. One of the efforts done to improve the students’ learning achievement was by applying Luck Wheel strategy. This research was aimed at revealing the effect of applying Luck Wheel strategy on the students’ learning achievement in Biology in class VII of SMPN 1 Kinali in Academic Year 2012/2013. This was an experimental research which used Control-Group Posttest Only Design. The population of the research was all of students in class VII of SMPN 1 Kinali registered in Academic Year 2012/2013. By using purposive random sampling technique, class VII1  was chosen as the experimental class and class VII6  as the control class. The result of the research indicated that after the strategy applied, the average score of the experimental class was higher than the control one in which the score for the experimental class was 77,6 and the control one was 68,0. Based on the result of hypothesis test it was concluded that the use of Luck Wheel strategy could improve the students learning achievement in Biology especially in Ecosystem topics at SMPN 1Kinali Kabupaten Pasaman Barat.Â
