Abstract

Acid-base is one of topics considered difficult by students. This concept is broad,  varied. Despite it is very closely related to everyday life, its application was still lacking. The development of teaching materials in the form of a module was deemed to be a solution to this problem. The aim of this research was to develop CTL module with green chemistry orientation in acid-base subject material to improve science literacy of students. This study was developed ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model. The developed product was validated by three experts, a practitioner and ten high school students. Data were analyzed using percentage formula. Qualitative data in the form of comments and suggestions from validator were used as consideration to revise the developed module.Tthe effectivity of the module was assessed using N-gain test. Based on validation results, we obtained average of 86,5%, 97%, 88%, and 94,58%. Effectivity evaluation using N-gain test shows an average score of 0,5 with moderate category. Result of student attitudes towards science data has an average score of 74% with good qualifications. It was concluded that developed module prototype is effective for acid-base topic, and most likely for other topics in learning process and growing student science literacy.

Abstract

Dalam penelitian ini telah dilakukan kajian pengaruh penambahan fotokatalis TiO2 dan Asam oksalat yang bersumber dari kulit nanas pada pH dan konsentrasi yang bervariasi, terhadap efektivitas fotoreduksi ion Cu(II) yang terkatalisis oleh TiO2. Proses fotoreduksi dilakukan dengan cara menyinari campuran yang terdiri dari larutan ion Cu(II) dan serbuk fotokatalis TiO2 tanpa maupun dengan adanya Asam oksalat dalam reaktor tertutup yang dilengkapi dengan lampu UV disertai pengadukan. Kondisi proses fotoreduksi adalah 50 mL larutan ion Cu(II) 10 ppm (0.157 mmol/L) dan Asam oksalat dengan konsentrasi  yang bervariasi, dan TiO2 seberat 20 mg, dengan waktu reaksi selama 24 jam. Hasil fotoreduksi ditentukan berdasarkan selisih konsentrasi ion Cu(II) awal dengan konsentrasi ion Cu(II) sisa dalam larutan setelah proses fotoreduksi yang ditentukan dengan metode Spektrofotometri Serapan Atom (AAS).Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan TiO2 dapat meningkatkan efektivitas fotoreduksi ion Cu(II) dari 9,03% menjadi 43,22%, yang diawali dengan proses adsorpsi. Adanya asam oksalat pada kulit nanas dapat meningkatkan fotoreduksi ion Cu(II) yang relatif tinggi karena asam oksalat dapat mencegah rekombinasi elektron dengan radikal OH, sehingga proses fotoreduksi Cu(II) dapat berjalan dengan optimal karena jumlah elektron yang tersedia relatif banyak. Pada pH yang bervariasi penambahan asam oksalat pada kulit nanas memberikan trend fotoreduksi ion Cu(II) yang sama dengan trend fotoreduksi ion Cu(II) tanpa adanya asam oksalat pada kulit nanas. Trend tersebut menunjukkan bahwa kenaikan pH 1 sampai 7 dapat meningkatkan fotoreduksi ion Cu(II), dan semua ion Cu(II) hilang dari larutan pada pH lebih tinggi dari 8 karena terbentuknya endapan Cu(OH)2. Fenomena ini berhubungan dengan spesiasi ion Cu(II), asam oksalat pada kulit nanas, dan  permukaan  fotokatalis  TiO2

Abstract

The aims of this study were to produce android base learning media inelements periodic system subject material and to evaluate its eligibility,pratical, and effectiveness to grow student science litaracy. In form ofResearch and Development, this study was carried out by ADDIE Model(Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and evaluation). Data wascollected by respons questionnaire, validaty questionnaire and scienceliteracy test. Data was analyzed by eligiblepercentage, eligiblecategorization, and N-gain test. Study result showed that content validity andmedia design validity was very eleigible with 81.11% and 83.97% ofeligibility respectively. Practicioner and student respon was very eligible with80.95 % and 89.02 % of eligibility respectively. Effectivity trial obtained 0.62of N-gain with moderate category. It can be concluded that android baselearning media was very eligible to applied for students science literacygrowth on elements periodic system learning effectively.

Abstract

This study is aimed in developing the thermochemical learning tools based on guided inquiry that can be used in increasing the students’ science literacy.  This learning tools consists of some steps that integrated to students worksheet, teacher’s book and lesson plan that dealing with 2013 curriculum. Inquiry learning is suitable to develop the students’ science literacy. This approach could help the teachers to increase students’ comprehension in lining their acknowledge with their daily life (students’ chemical science), and it could have more function for the students. So, one way to measure the students’ literacy by applying the inquiry steps as the learning achievement indicators. This research is in terms of 4-D design that consists of (1) defining, (2) designing, (3)developing and disseminating. The result was validated by two lecturers ( validators) that teaching chemical and four chemical teachers at senior high school, then it also tested in 40 SMAN 7 Mataram students through questionnaire. So, quantitative data then analyzed by percentage formula. Furthermore, qualitative data consists of  some ideas, suggestions in terms of the learning tools. Based on validation result from lecturers is  86%, teachers 88%. Instruments validation literacy  science result from lecturers 89%, from teachers 87%. The result from 40 students is 83%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the development learning toolsis valid to be used.

Abstract

Hasil usaha pembuatan garam masyarakat Desa Ketapang Raya Kecamatan Keruak Lombok Timur belum mencukupi kebutuhan hidup, sehingga sebagian besar masih hidup di bawah garis kemiskinan. Pemberdayaan hasil panen petani garam berupa fortifikasi garam beriodium adalah sebuah program untuk memperbaiki kehidupan masyarakat. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pelaksanaan program pemberdayaan, identifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi program pemberdayaan dan menentukan prioritas strategi pemberdayaan. Metode survei dan analisis deskriptif digunakan untuk menggambarkan implementasi program pemberdayaan ini. Analisis SWOT untuk identifikasi factor internal dan eksternal yang mempengaruhi pelaksanaan program pemberdayaan juga dilakukan sebagai dasar pengembangan strategi kebijakan untuk program pemberdayaan. Analisis hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa faktor internal dan eksternal banyak dipengaruhi oleh penerapan program pemberdayaan di lokasi. Strategi pengembangan program pemberdayaan yang bisa diaplikasikan di situs tersebut yaitu (1) pengembangan akses pasar, (2) peningkatan produktivitas asisten lapangan, (3) keberlanjutan pemberdayaan oleh pemerintah, dan (4) pengembangan metode usaha petani garam.Coastal Community Empowerment Strategy in Ketapang Raya Village, Keruak District, East Lombok through the Salt Fortification ProgramAbstract The results of the salt-making efforts of the people of Ketapang Raya Village, Keruak District, East Lombok, are not sufficient for their daily needs, so most of them still live below the poverty line. The empowerment of the harvest of salt farmers in the form of fortification of iodized salt is a program to improve people's lives. This activity aims to analyze the implementation of the empowerment program, identify the factors that affect the empowerment program and determine the priority of the empowerment strategy. Survey methods and descriptive analysis were used to describe the implementation of this empowerment program. SWOT analysis to identify internal and external factors that influence the implementation of empowerment programs is also carried out as a basis for developing a policy strategy for empowerment programs. The analysis of the results of the activities shows that internal and external factors are heavily influenced by the implementation of the empowerment program in the location. Strategies for developing empowerment programs that can be applied on the site are (1) developing market access, (2) increasing the productivity of field assistants, (3) sustainable empowerment by the government, and (4) developing salt farmer business methods.

Abstract

Tujuan pelaksanaan program pengabdian ini adalah a) Meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang seluk beluk penulisan karya ilmiah bagi guru-guru SMPN 1 Gunungsari, b) Meningkatkan kemampuan menulis karya ilmiah bagi guru-guru SMPN 1 Gunungsari. Kegiatan ini direncanakan selama tiga bulan dengan sasaran penyuluhan dan pemberian pelatihan keterampilan ini adalah guru-guru di SMPN 1 Gunungsari. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan yang akan dilakukan yaitu: 1) Ceramah; 2) Diskusi; dan 3) Praktek Menulis. Berdasarkan hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa keberhasilan program telah tercapai dengan baik sesuai dengan harapan. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari antusiasnya para guru dalam mengikuti seluruh kegiatan pelatihan, baik dalam pemberian materi maupun praktek langsung dalam penulisan karya ilmiah. Selain itu, para guru juga memperlihatkan antusiasnya ketika melakukan diskusi. Para peserta pelatihan merasakan manfaat program ini dari sisi pengetahuan maupun teknis sehingga para peserta dapat menyiapkan tulisan mereka menjadi artikel yang siap dipublikasikan di jurnal yang dituju. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa optimalisasi peningkatan profesionalisme guru-guru melalui pelatihan penulisan karya ilmiah berjalan dengan baik sesuai dengan harapan.Optimization of Teacher Professionalism Enhancement through Training on Writing Scientific PapersAbstractThe objectives of the implementation of this service program are a) Increase knowledge about the ins and outs of writing scientific papers for SMPN 1 Gunungsari teachers, b) Improve the ability to write scientific papers for SMPN 1 Gunungsari teachers. This activity is planned for three months with the target of counseling and providing training for these skills for teachers at SMPN 1 Gunungsari. The methods of implementing the activities to be carried out are: 1) Lecture; 2) Discussion; and 3) Writing Practice. Based on the results of the implementation of community service activities, it shows that the success of the program has been achieved properly as expected. This can be seen from the enthusiasm of the teachers in participating in all training activities, both in providing material and direct practice in writing scientific papers. Besides that, the teachers also showed their enthusiasm when holding discussions. The training participants felt the benefits of this program from both a knowledge and technical perspective so that the participants could prepare their writing into articles that were ready to be published in the intended journal. Thus, it can be concluded that the optimization of the increase in professionalism of teachers through training in writing scientific papers is going well as expected.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan prototipe berupa bahan ajar yang berbasis android pada materi laju reaksi untuk menumbuhkan literasi sains siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan rancangan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation). Hasil pengembangan divalidasi oleh tiga validator ahli, satu validator praktisi dan sepuluh siswa SMAN 1 Wanasaba sebagai validator uji terbatas siswa. Data kuantitatif hasil validasi kelayakan dan hasil penilaian sikap siswa terhadap sains dianalisis dengan rumus persentase dan data hasil ujicoba terbatas bagaimana penggunaanbahan ajar yang berbasis android pada materi laju reaksi dihitung dengan N-gain. Data kualitatif berupa tanggapan dan saran perbaikan dari validator digunakan sebagai pertimbangan untuk melakukan revisi terhadap bahan ajar yang dikembangkan. Kelayakan media pembelajaran berbasis android yang dikembangkan yakni sangat layak dengan persentase kelayakan oleh ahli materi sebesar 92,5% dan ahli media sebesar 86,5%, praktisi dari guru kimia 89%, praktisi dari siswa 85%, serta uji praktisi dari soal literasi sains siswa sebesar 92 % dengan kesimpuan sangat layak.. Di samping itu dari uji kelayakan tahap lanjut didapatkan rata-rata skor N-gain yakni 0,52 dengan kategori sedang dan % sikap siswa terhadap sains sebesar 81 % dengan kategori sangat layak. Jadi dapat disimpulkan bahawa pertumbuhan literasi sains siswa dikategorikan sedang dan hasil ini layak untuk dilanjutkan ke ujicoba skala luas

Abstract

The aim of this research was to evaluate how Understanding Nature of Science (NOS) play role to students Understanding chemistry concept and Science Process Skills on Chemistry Classroom. This descriptive research was carried out by Ex-post Facto method at the Faculty of Mathematics and Science Education of IKIP Mataram. The research subjects were 75 students participating in the General Chemistry course for the academic year 2018- 2019 that taken by the saturated sampling method. Data were collected by understanding of NOS questionnaire, Understanding chemistry concept Test, and Science Process Skills observation sheet. The data is described and analyzed by product moment correlation test and One Way Anova test for uncorrelated samples. The results showed that there was a significant and very strong correlation between Understanding of NOS and Understanding chemistry concept and between Understanding of NOS and Science Process Skills. One Way Anova test result showed that there was difference on Students Understanding chemistry concept and Science Processes Skills on different Understanding of NOS.

Abstract

A study has been carried out on the effect of the addition of TiO2 photocatalysts and oxalic acid sourced from pineapple skin at various pH and concentrations, to the effectiveness of Cu (II) ion photoreduction catalyzed by TiO2. The photoreduction process was carried out by irradiating the mixture consisting of a solution of Cu (II) ion and TiO2 photocatalyst powder without or in the presence of oxalic acid in a closed reactor equipped with a UV lamp with stirring. The photoreduction process conditions are 50 mL of 10 ppm Cu (II) ion solution (0.157 mmol / L) and varying concentrations of oxalic acid, and 20 mg of TiO2, with a 24-hour reaction time. The photoreduction product was determined based on the difference in the initial Cu (II) ion concentration and the remaining Cu (II) ion concentration in the solution after the photoreduction process was determined by the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS) method. The results showed that the addition of TiO2 could increase the effectiveness of Cu (II) ion photoreduction from 9.03% to 43.22%, which was initiated by the adsorption process. The presence of oxalic acid in pineapple skin in a photoreduction reaction system with greater concentration causes a relatively high increase in Cu (II) ion photoreduction because oxalic acid can prevent recombination of electrons with OH radicals, so that the Cu (II) photoreduction process can run optimally due to the amount of relatively large number of available electrons.
