Abstract

Abstract; Sheikh Yusuf al-Maqassary (1626-1699), adalah seorang penulis produktif yang telah menulis risalah lebih dari 38, sebagai pedoman bagi masyarakat muslim khususnya bagi para pengikutnya. Meskipun Sheikh Yusuf berpegang teguh pada transendensi Allah, ia percaya bahwa Allah meliputi segala sesuatu (al-aháthah) dan ada di mana-mana (al-maiyyah) atas ciptaan-Nya. Namun, dia sangat berhati-hati untuk tidak mengikat dirinya dengan doktrin panteisme dengan mengatakan, meskipun Allah muncul sendiri dalam ciptaan-Nya, itu tidak berarti bahwa ciptaan-Nya adalah Allah sendiri, semua ciptaan hanyalah makhluk alegoris atau metaforis (al -maujúd al-majazi), bukan wujud yang sebenarnya (al-maujúd haqiqi). Jadi, menurut Syekh Yusuf, kata Tuhan dalam ciptaan-Nya tidak berarti kehadiran Allah sendiri dalam diri mereka, tetapi sifat ilmunya-Nyalah meliputi hamba-Nya, dan keadaannya yang bersama dengan hamba-Nya, bukan keadaan hamba bersama-sama dengan Allah, karena itu tidak mungkin, kecuali bagi hamba yang berada dalam kondisi dzikr (hanya mengingat Allah) dan tidak mengingat wujud lain selain Allah. Oleh karena itu, Sheikh Yusuf menganggap bahwa salah bagi seorang sufi yang telah mencapai puncak pengalaman spiritual, merasa fana fillah dan baqa bihi, atau telah memasuki keberadaan Tuhan, kemudian dia mengatakan perasaannya dengan kata-kata shataháts, seperti: Ana-Allah (saya Allah), Ana al-Haqq (Akulah Paling Benar), Subhani (Maha Suci aku), dll. Adapun konsep kebersamaan dan liputan Tuhan ini terhadap hamba-Nya kebanyakan tertuang dalam risalahnya “Zubdat al-Asrár and Sirr al-Asrár”, akan tetapi, pembahasannya mungkin terlalu panjang, jika kita harus mengambil dari kedua teks tsb. Oleh karena itu penulis hanya memilih satu teks saja, yakni “Zubdat al-Asrár. Kata Kunci: Syaikh Yusuf al-Maqassary, Pendampingan, Tuhan dan HambaNya, “Zubdat al-Asrár” Sheikh Yusuf al-Maqassary (1626-1699), was a prolific writer who has written a treatise of more than 38, as a guide for the Muslim community in particular for his followers. Although Sheikh Yusuf cling to the transcendence of God, he believes that Allah encompasses everything (al-aháthah) and there everywhere (al-maiyyah) over his creation. However, he was very careful to not bind himself with the doctrine of pantheism to say, although God manifests itself in His creation, it does not mean that his creation is God himself, all creation is only allegorical or metaphorical creature (al -maujúd al- majazi), not the actual form (al-existent haqiqi). Thus, according to Sheikh Yusuf, said the Lord in His creation does not mean the presence of God in themselves, but their knowledge is His nature includes his servants, and the circumstances which along with his servant, not a slave state together with God, because it is not possible, except for the servants who are in a state of dhikr (remembrance of Allah only) and do not remember any other form other than Allah. Therefore, Sheikh Yusuf considers that one for a Sufi who has reached the pinnacle of spiritual experience, feel mortal fillah and baqa bihi, or has entered the existence of God, then he said his feelings with words shataháts, such as: Ana-God (my God), "Ana al-Haqq (I am the Most True), Subhani (Glory I), etc. The concept of togetherness and coverage of the Lord is against His servants mostly contained in his treatise "Zubdat Sirr al-Asrar al-Asrar and", however, the discussion may be too long, if we have to take from the second text page. Abstract

Tulisan ini membahas tentang penggunaan bahasa non verbal dalam ekspresi bahasa dan budaya, khususnya budaya Barat dalam hal ini budaya Inggris dan Islam yang bertujuan agar dapat mengetahui perbedaan yang terjadi di antara penutur atau pelaku bahasa. Tulisan ini menyimpulkan adanya kesamaan antara keduanya, minimal budaya Islam dapat menerima beberapa budaya luar sebagai sebuah ungkapan sopan seperti salam, kontak pandang selama bicara, memberikan perhatian terhadap apa yang disampaikan lawan bicara. Namun di sisi lain, perbedaan juga tidak dapat dihindari, ketika terjadi interaksi sosial antara pemberi dan penerima, di mana dalam Islam baik pemberi dan penerima sebaiknya menggunakan tangan kanan bukan tangan kiri, sementara budaya Barat keduanya sama saja. Demikian pula terjadinya komunikasi, terutama persoalan jarak antara kedua pasang manusia yang sedang bercinta, bersentuhan dan segala sesuatu yang menjurus kepada sensitifitas seksual. Dalam kaitan ini, Islam memiliki aturan yang ketat menjaga manusia agar terhindar dari pola komunikasi yang tidak diijinkan oleh Allah.

Abstract

Sheikh Yusuf al-Makassarī (1626-1699) is a worldwide figure from Gowa-Makassar, South Sulawesi, Indonesia, a reformer in the Islamic mystical world and a moderate ṣứfī whose teachings spread among his followers up today. This research investigates the diaspora and dissemination of Sheikh Yusuf al-Makassarī’s teachings on religious moderation in South Sulawesi and Kalimantan. Employing a qualitative descriptive method and a phenomenological approach, the study seeks to elucidate the process of diaspora development, assess the perceptions of al- Makassarī’s followers, especially Ṭarīqa Khalwatiyya Yusufiyya followers regarding religious moderation, and analyze the implementation of his teachings. The findings of this research reveal that the diaspora of al-Makassarī’s religious moderation teachings has emanated and proliferated from Gowa through three teachers (murshids) and his descendants (1940s-2022), notably Sheikh K.H. Sahib Sultan (d.2022), and his parents across South Sulawesi and Kalimantan, extending even to the entirety of the archipelago. Throughout four to five generations, the diaspora has become entrenched through these murshids. While a significant portion of al-Makassarī’s followers may remain unfamiliar with the term "religious moderation," his teachings have been effectively implemented, resulting in improved social well-being, enhanced safety, and increased tranquility. Notably, these adherents distance themselves from any form of religious extremism. This research underscores the substantial impact of the ṣūfī Order (Ṭarīqa) in mitigating radicalism and terrorism in Indonesia. Consequently, understanding and practicing al-Makassari’s teachings on religious moderation emerge as crucial for fostering a safer, more prosperous, and peaceful future for Indonesians. الملخص الشيخ يوسف المكساري (1626-1699) شخص مشهور عالمياً من غووا مكسار، سولاويسي الجنوبية، إندونيسيا، مجدّد في عالم التصوف الإسلامي، وصوفي وصطي تنتشر تعاليمه بين أتباعه حتى اليوم. هذا البحث يركز على انتشار وتنفيذ تعاليم الوسطية الدينية للشيخ يوسف المكاسري في سولاويسي الجنوبية وكاليمانتان. ويستخدم الباحثون فيه منهجًا نوعيًا وصفيًا ومدخلا ظاهريًا لمعرفة العملية في تطوير الانتشار، وتقييم تصور أتباع المكاسري، خاصة أتباع الطريقة الخلوتية يوسوفية حول الوسطية الدينية وتحليل تنفيذ تعاليمه. أظهرت النتائج على أن تعاليم الوسطية الدينية للمكاسري قد تم تطوير وانتشارها من غووا من قبل ثلاثة مرشد وأحفادهم (1940-2022)، وخاصة الشيخ الحاج صاحب سلطان (المتوفى سنة 2022) مع والديه في جميع أنحاء سولاويسي الجنوبية وكاليمانتان، وحتى في جميع أنحاء الأرخبيل نوسانتارا. من خلال هؤلاء المرشدين الثلاث، قد بلغ تطور الانتشار مابين أربعة إلى خمسة أجيال. على الرغم من أن معظم أتباعه لا يزالون غير معتادين على مصطلح الوسطية الدينية، إلا أن تعاليم المكاسري قد تم تنفذها جيدا بشكل عام، وتجعل حياتهم الاجتماعية أفضل في رفع الرفاهية الاجتماعية والأمن والاطمئنان. إنهم بعيدون عن أن يكونوا فوضويين. هذا البحث يركز على الأثر الجوهري للطريقة الصوفية في درء التطرف والإرهابية في إندونيسيا. فمن المهم معرفة وممارسة تعاليم الوسطية الدينية للمكاسري حتى يتمكن الشعب الإندونيسي من العيش بأمان ورخاء وسلام. الكلمة الرئيسية: تعاليم الوسطية الدينية، انتشار، تنفيذ، الشيخ يوسف المكسري Abstrak Syeikh Yusuf al-Makassarī (1626-1699) adalah seorang tokoh terkenal dunia, seorang pembaru dalam dunia mistik Islam sekaligus seorang shứfī moderat yang ajarannya tersebar di kalangan para pengikutnya hingga saat ini. Penelitian ini menyelidiki diaspora dan penyebaran ajaran Syekh Yusuf al-Makassarī tentang moderasi beragama di Sulawesi Selatan dan Kalimantan. Dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dan pendekatan fenomenologis, penelitian ini berupaya menjelaskan proses perkembangan diaspora, menilai persepsi pengikut al-Makassarī, khususnya pengikut Tariqat Khalwatiyyah Yusufiyyah mengenai moderasi beragama, dan menganalisis implementasi ajarannya. Temuan penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa diaspora ajaran moderasi beragama al-Makassarī terpancar dan menjamur dari Gowa melalui tiga orang guru (mursyid) dan keturunannya (1940-an-2022), khususnya Syeikh K.H. Sahib Sultan (w. 2022), dan kedua orang tuanya hingga tersebar melintasi Sulawesi Selatan dan Kalimantan, bahkan hingga ke seluruh nusantara. Selama empat hingga lima generasi, diaspora telah mengakar melalui para mursyid ini. Meskipun sebagian besar pengikut al-Makassarī mungkin masih asing dengan istilah "moderasi beragama", ajarannya telah diterapkan secara efektif, sehingga menghasilkan peningkatan kesejahteraan sosial, peningkatan keamanan, dan peningkatan ketenangan. Khususnya, para penganutnya menjauhkan diri dari segala bentuk ekstremisme agama. Penelitian ini menggarisbawahi dampak substansial Tarekat ṣūfī (Ṭarīqa) dalam mitigasi atau mengurangi resiko radikalisme dan terorisme di Indonesia. Oleh karena itu, memahami dan mengamalkan ajaran al-Makassarī tentang moderasi beragama menjadi hal yang penting untuk menciptakan masa depan yang lebih aman, sejahtera, dan damai bagi masyarakat Indonesia. ​Kata Kunci : Ajaran Moderasi Beragama; Diaspora; Implementasi; Syekh Yusuf al-Makassarī

Abstract

Tulisan ini berkaitan dengan bahasa dan dakwah yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui apa dan bagaimana fungsi dan pengaruh bahasa sebagai alat komunikasi terhadap kesuksesan dakwah Islam. Adapun metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif untuk menggambarkan tentang apa yang dimaksud di atas, karena bahasa dan dakwah saling berkaitan dan tidak bisa dipisahkan satu sama lain karena bahasa merupakan anugerah Ilahi yang di gunakan manusia untuk berinteraksi dalam kehidupannya termasuk berdakwah.Tulisan ini menunjukkan bahwa: (l) Baik bahasa verbal maupun non verbal mempunyai fungsi yang sangat penting dalam dakwah Islam. Bahasa verbal berfungsi sebagai wahana pengenal, wahana interaksi sosial dalam kegiatan dakwah bi al-lisan dan bi al-qalam serta bi al-hal. Sedangkan bahasa non verbal berfungsi sebagai wahana pengenal, wahana interaksi sosial, sebagai pengganti dan pelengkap yang memperjelas bahasa verbal dalam kegiatan dakwah bi al-hal dan dakwah lewat lukisan. (2) Kesuksesan sebuah dakwah juga banyak dipengaruhi oleh penggunaan bahasa. Dengan bahasa yang lemah lembut/sopan, baik dan benar disertai tinggi rendahnya intonasi yang sesuai, insya Allah akan membawa kepada dakwah yang sukses. Sebaliknya dengan bahasa yang kasar dan intonasi yang terlalu tinggi, akan membawa kepada kegagalan sebuah dakwah. (3). Salah satu contoh dakwah lewat tulisan yang hingga kini masih berpengaruh di tengah-tengah masyarakat Indonesia khususnya di Sulawesi Selatan ini adalah dakwah Sheikh Yusuf al-Makassary lewat karya-karya mistik religious beliau sebagai salah seorang pembaharu dalam dunia mistik Islam.

Abstract

This type of research is included in the descriptive qualitative research using a research approach, namely the sociological approach. Furthermore, the data sources used are primary and secoondary data. For data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation. Then the data management and analysis techniques go through three stages, namely: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of this study are that there are two form of social empowerments activities for the community through investing in Bali cattle farm, namely in the institutional and economic fields by socializing and training to the community. The public”s perception of investing in Bali cattle farm is as a process of empowerment, has ecological and social impact, is participatory and a sustainable activity. The implications of this research are 1) There is a need to increase collaboration between the Pattappa Village government and the community for the smooth process of this livestock investment activity. This includes intense discussion for the smooth process of this carried out so that the social empowerment process can run well. 2) through this research, it is hoped that it will become a matter of concern for the local government and the community to continue synergizing in utilization of existing resources in Pattappa Village. In addition, the results of this study can be used as reference for students, especially those related to social empowerment and livestock investment.

Abstract

The aim of this research is 1) to describe the factors that encourage Muslim women to participate in supporting the family economy at Lambocca Market, Pajukukang District. 2) describe the results of Muslim women's participation in supporting the family economy at Lambocca Market, Pajukukang District, Bantaeng Regency. The type of research that researchers use is qualitative research. This research was conducted at Lambocca Market, Pajukukang District, Bantaeng Regency, whose address is Lambocca Hamlet, Biangkeke, Pajukukang District, Bantaeng Regency. This research uses a sociological approach. Data collection techniques consist of observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis stages consist of data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the research show that 1) the factors that encourage Muslim women to participate in supporting the family economy at Lambocca Market, Pajukukang District, Bantaeng Regency, include family economy, education level, and number of family dependents. The difficulties that a working mother often faces include work problems, time management between work and the household, husband's support, and the presence of children. 2) the results of the participation of Muslim women in supporting the family economy at Lambocca Market, Pajukukang District have helped a lot to advance the family economy, including being able to meet daily needs, having savings and several investments such as houses, land and livestock. The implication of the research is that a woman is allowed to be a wives to work in the public sector, as long as this does not make them forget and neglect their role in maintaining religious, customary and moral norms, and can fulfill the requirements and ethics of wives who work outside the home. Then, future researchers should be able to look at the position and role of women (wives) from a different perspective, because in this research the authors only describe society's responses regarding the role of women.

Abstract

The main problem in this study is how to empower the community through palm sugar production in Rannaloe Village, Bungaya District, Gowa Regency? The sub-problems in this study are: First, the stages of community empowerment in making palm sugar in Rannaloe Village, Bungaya District, Gowa Regency? Second, economic improvement in palm sugar production in Rannaloe Village, Bungaya District, Gowa Regency. This study uses a qualitative research method. The data collection techniques used are through interviews, documentation and direct observation in Rannaloe Village, Bungaya District, Gowa Regency. The data sources for this study are secondary and primary data. The results of the study show that: First, the stages of community empowerment in making palm sugar in Rannaloe Village, Bungaya District, Gowa Regency, especially palm farmers, are as follows: (a) The process of collecting palm sap (b) Making palm sugar (c) Marketing (d) Government assistance and support. Second, economic improvement in palm sugar production in Rannaloe Village, Bungaya District, Gowa Regency, especially palm farmers, that palm sugar production generally contributes positively to improving the local economy. Community empowerment through (training, and equipment assistance, as well as development of production and marketing management) is an important factor in improving the quality and quantity of palm sugar production, which ultimately has an impact on increasing community income. The implications of this study are expected to the government, both the village secretary, the hamlet head and welfare (Administration) to play a more active role and facilitate the community in community empowerment through palm sugar production in Rannaloe Village, Bungaya District, Gowa Regency

Abstract

This article investigates how Shaykh Yusuf al-Maqassarī’s profile, his da‘wa, and contribution, through the purification of beliefs (aqīda) of Muslims, which is inspired by the author's research in Indonesia till Leiden, the Netherlands. This article utilized a qualitative descriptive method with a comprehensive religious history approach, for describing and identifying al-Maqassarī’s profile, his da‘wa through the purification of beliefs of the Muslim community that contributes and plays an important role towards social changes in South Sulawesi. The result showed that Shaykh Yūsuf (1626-1699), a moderate ṣūfī from Eastern Indonesia who is still one of the ahl al-Bayt. He wandered to several parts of the world to deepen his understanding of Islamic mysticism. He holds the title ‘wālī quṭb al-Rabbānī wa al-'Árif al-Ṣamaḍānī’ and is well known for his Waḥdat al-Ṣamad view. He was a prolific writer, fighter, and human rights defender until his exile, initially to Ceylon, then to Cape of Good Hope, Cape Town, South Africa. Today, he has become a National Hero of Indonesia and South Africa. His main teaching is the purification of beliefs (aqīda). All practices and worship are directed to the Oneness of God and nothing else. This teaching has become the basis of his reformist ideas, to transform his animistic society into fervent Muslims, especially in South Sulawesi, and then to be implemented into his Ṭarīqat Khalwatiyyat al-Yusufiyya (Yusufiyya). This article will benefit the South Sulawesi community in particular and Indonesia in general, and be a reference for future researchers.

Abstract

This paper examines the educational ideas of the 10th-century Muslim philosophical group, Ikhwān al-Safā, as contained in their encyclopedic work Rasā’il Ikhwān al-Safā. This organization is known as a secret intellectual movement that sought to integrate Islamic religious values, Greek philosophy, and science within an educational framework. This study focuses on how the Ikhwān al-Safā viewed knowledge, its acquisition, classification, and the ideal figure of a teacher. It was found that the Ikhwān al-Safā adopted an esoteric approach to religion and positioned philosophy as a means to understand the inner meaning of revelation. In the context of education, they viewed knowledge as acquired through a combination of the senses, reason, and spiritual initiation. They also classified knowledge into mathematics, physics, and metaphysics, all of which were considered important for forming a complete human being. This paper shows that the Ikhwān al-Safā made an important contribution to Islamic educational thought, particularly in their efforts to unite reason and revelation in the process of seeking knowledge.
