NKRI is set in stone, because Indonesia is the result of religious leaders of the struggle to ensure the realization of a just social system and prosperity to the consummation ta'abudiyah to God. The Indonesian people should not forget the history of his people, through the introduction of, respect for and taking the value of their role models. The strongnese of NKRI was a means of the realization of general welfare, so that the existence NKRI was necessary or obligatory. Abstract

This study examines the Islamic narratives faced by the Muslim millennial generation in Indonesia, a group often targeted by radical groups. Using a phenomenological approach in qualitative research, data were collected through in-depth interviews and media content analysis involving 30 millennial participants from various backgrounds, including Islamic boarding school students and social media users. This study focuses on three aspects: sources of Islamic narratives, understandings of moderation and ideal Muslim figures, and responses to moderate Islamic narratives. The study revealed a broad spectrum of Islamic narratives, ranging from radical to moderate, shaped by sources such as Islamic boarding schools, teachers, prayer groups, books, and social media. Indonesian Muslim millennials showed a strong preference for moderate Islamic leaders over Salafi figures, reflecting the appeal of narratives that promote tolerance and Pancasila values. The majority of millennials support the spread of moderate Islamic values despite exposure to a variety of narratives. This study contributes to academic discourse by providing insights into the interaction of digital media, religious education, and the formation of Islamic identity. Methodologically, this study demonstrates the effectiveness of combining phenomenological analysis and digital ethnography to understand contemporary religious narratives. These findings are relevant in designing strategies to counter radicalism and strengthen the narrative of moderate Islam in pluralistic societies.

Abstract

Purpose – This study intends to unravel aspects related to education in local religions. There are three (3) intercorrelated things regarding education in local religions, namely discrimination, value education, and social movements. Design/methods/approach – This study is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The data source was obtained from the results of in-depth interviews and observations of members and traditional elders of three (3) local religions in Indonesia. The analysis used was a descriptive one. Findings – The three local religions studied often experience discrimination, especially in the aspect of education. This discrimination encourages them to spread the values education so that its existence continues to survive. The values education is an essential vehicle in carrying out social movements. Research implications/limitations – This study was limited to three local religions in Indonesia. The diversely abundant local religions in Indonesia allow for different dynamics between each other, related to discrimination in religious education, values education they uphold, and new social movements they bring about. Originality/value – The majority of scholars have studied various local religions to uncover their diverse religious teachings. Additionally, numerous studies also have discussed varied discriminations against religion. However, they are mostly related to discrimination in the aspect of citizenship rights that they should have. This research is more focused on discrimination in education, as well as the related elements, namely values education and new social movements, to overcome this discrimination.

Abstract

Radicalism in universities has transformed into covert movements that do not overtly display religious symbols and utilize technology to infiltrate academic communities. This study aims to identify how radical groups adapt within university environments in Central Java, and analyze campus policies’ and extra-campus organizations’ role in promoting religious moderation. It employs a qualitative method and phenomenological approach, collecting data through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. It is based on cultural identity theory to understand how the academic community’s religious identities are shaped in response to radical infiltration. The findings reveal that universities in Central Java established Islamic traditions and facilities, including religious moderation centers, moderation gardens, and multifaith worship spaces to resist radical groups, teaching interfaith tolerance to the academic community. Extra-campus organizations are essential for shaping attitudes toward tolerance and religious moderation, depending on the dominant organizations’ nature at each institution. However, Salafi Jihadi, Ikhwanul Muslimin, Hizb ut-Tahrir Indonesia (HTI), Jamaah Islamiyah (JI), Takfiri groups, and ISIS are radical movements, infiltrating extra-campus Islamic organizations. Universities implemented strict policies and preventive measures to combat radicalism within their academic environments. This study provides a deeper understanding of the campus’ strategies and highlights extracurricular organizations’ role in promoting religious moderation.

The government policy to establish the batik village was a good decision to attract more customers and improve  competitiveness. In terms of public policy perspective, Batik Village was more effective and efficient for local government to provide technical support, capital and management support, promotion, education and training and many more. Employer and employee,  wholesaler, and supplier mostly had close interrelationship (ukhuwwah), mutual respect (tasamuh), understanding (tafahum) and cooperation (ta’awun) and  as well as trustworthiness (amanah); and they live in Islamic compliance. The study of how they developed their organization based on hospitality religion was interesting to be observed .  This study highlighted the religious contribution of  hospitality organization by classifying the followings: (1) The cooperation type of Pekalongan batik village organization, (2) The Islamic socio-cultural contribution understanding in terms of human resource management, innovation, business ethic and marketing behavior.
