Abstract

Hypnoteaching could be a “new” strategy or procedure in education, especially in the teaching and learning process. Furthermore, hypnoteaching was an activity in which the teacher gave affirmative or positive words. Hypnosis is usually described or done with a conscious state where. In teaching, hypnosis collaboration with the activity is that the teacher gave a positive word to students. This study was conducted in M.A. Sabillarasyad. To found the result in this study researcher used interviews were as an instrument to collect the data. The subjects in this study are three teachers. The result showed that students’ speaking problems were reduced, and the students were more confident after the teacher used hypnoteaching, in which the teachers gave positive words to students by repetition. Furthermore, the students more relax and enjoy the learning process. The researcher found the HT1 as the teacher one used hypnoteaching in order for students focused on there did not aware when the teacher did hypnoteaching. Therefore the students feel more closely with the teacher when their inside or outside the class. The researcher concludes that Hypnoteaching was a suitable method for reducing students’ speaking problems and helped the teacher manage the classroom in the learning process.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keterampilan mengajar guru dalam menyampaikan materi dan mentransfer ilmu pengetahuan pada siswa di SD Negeri 020 Samarinda Utara tahun pembelajaran 2021/2022. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis pendekatan deskriptif, metode yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling. Teknik yang digunakan dalam triangulasi ini adalah triangulasi sumber untuk menguji keabsahan data yang dilakukan dengan cara mengecek data yang akan diperoleh melalui tiga sumber. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan peneliti di kelas II SDN 020 Samarinda Utara, terdapat kendala dan keterbatasan dalam keterampilan mengajar guru di kelas, adalah seperti guru kurang memahami metode pegajaran, kurang memahami materi pada pembelajaran tematik, dan kurang pemahaman dalam menyampaikan materi. Hal ini yang menyebabkan adanya kendala dalam keterampilan mengajar guru di kelas, sehingga membuat proses pembelajaran berjalan kurang maksimal. Keterampilan mengajar guru merupakan kunci utama keberhasilan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran, oleh sebab itu keterampilan mengajar bagi guru perlu untuk dikembangkan lebih baik lagi.

Abstract

Reading skill is one of the four main language skills taught in the classes of the English Department of Faculty of Education of Islamic University of Malang (FKIP Unisma). As the result of teaching reading had not achieved satisfactory result, the researcher conducted a study to find out how texts structure tasks can improve the students’ reading comprehension.            The method employed in this research was a classroom action research. It comprised four phases: planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The steps were adopted from Kemmis and Taggart’s action research model (1988). The subjects of the study were the four semester students of the English Department of FKIP Unisma in 2006 academic year. In the procedures and implementation process, one cycle consisting of four actions was done.            The instruments used in the study were observation sheets and test. The observation sheets were made two forms. One form of observation sheets was to observe the teacher in implementing the action and the other observation sheets were used to observe the students’ activities or reaction to the teachers’ activities during the learning-teaching process. The second instrument used was a test. It was to evaluate the effectiveness of the strategy used.After four actions were conducted, a test was given to the students. The test result showed that the students’ mean score was 75.88 and the lowest score the students obtained was 65. The researcher decided that no more cycle was needed for the study had met the criteria of success. The action was considered successful if the students’ mean score reached 75 or under the category of B+, and the lowest score the student obtain was not less than 65.00.

Abstract

In everyday life humans are not free from conversations with others, this has been done continuously and without stopping, this is a habit that forms patterns. This study aims to see how important self regulation is in their daily lives, basically self-regulation is a human habit and their learning pattern, each participant is given several questions regarding motivation. and also their self-regulation in arguing and also in their daily lives, which is owned by each individual, especially in speaking. The study was conducted by taking samples from the debate organization at University of Widiya Gama Mahakam Samarinda. It is found that internal and external factors appear in self-regulated learning of students who join Widya Gama Debate League. At the end, the results show that self-regulation is very important in shaping themselves so that they can form a valid learning pattern.

Abstract

Background: Mobile learning is a learning model by utilizing information and communication technology. One form of technology that can be used in mobile learning is smartphones. There is a wide variety of smartphones that offer incredible sophistication in various features and applications. With various features that can be installed or run online, smartphones can be used as learning media. Methodology: This study used a qualitative approach and a case study as the research design. Moreover, the researcher used interviews and observation as the instrument to collect the data. The subjects in this study are five students. Findings: The findings revealed positive perceptions and the obstacles of mobile learning in Distance Learning. The results of this study stated that the subjects were greatly helped by the presence of mobile learning. Mobile learning is very helpful for subjects to find information and communication with easy internet access in finding information during a pandemic helping students find and gather information. it was stated that with mobile learning students had the flexibility of place. However, the obstacle to mobile learning in distance learning is students cannot directly understand the material presented by the lecturer. Apart from that, students also find it difficult to understand the material as a result of the poor quality of the unstable internet. Conclusion: There are some students who have obstacles during mobile-based learning. The obstacles that are often faced by students are network constraints that are sometimes less supportive when the teaching and learning process takes place. With this mobile-based learning, students can access smooth communication information without being constrained by place, time, and understanding of the material that can be accessed by students independently. Originality: In this study found out the students’ perception and the obstacles used PJJ or distance learning with use mobile technology in learning process.

Abstract

AbstractBackground:A language is a tool for communication in this world used by humans to communicate with each other, without language, people get a problem when they want to communicate and a desire to socialize with people. The social functions of communication are explained by the speech function Apparently, speaking has a variety of functions. Many kinds of different speech functions, including phatic, poetic, metalinguistic, expressive, directive, and referential. Speech that people make serves a variety of purposes. This study aims to analyze the kinds of speech functions that are used in Alice In Wonderland Movie.Methodology: The researcher used a design for content analysis. The characters shown in the film "Alice In Wonderland" Movie is the focus of this investigation. The study's focus was on the declarative and interrogative language employed by the movie's characters. A checklist served as the study's main tool.Findings: In this study, the researcher found there are 111 speech functions used by the characters in Alice in Wonderland movie script. The researcher found there are five types of speech functions, 19 expressive speech functions, 39 directives speech functions, 34 referential speech functions, 7 poetic speech functions, and 12 phatic speech functions.Conclusion: In this research the researcher concludes, the referential speech function is the most used type of speech function by the actors in Alice in Wonderland movie because there are 39 directive speech functions found in this movie and the lowest types of speech functions used by the characters is poetic speech function where the researcher found there is only 7 poetic speech function.Originality: This research can used for references and help students or readers to understand deeper the speech function and and know hot utilize them

Abstract

Life is requiring some skills in order to improve society’ integrity and some people may have distinct skills. In every aspect of life one of the most important skill in life is writing. Writing skill is a part of skill in life in order to work. So the author wanted to do a research towards writing skill in high school students by making monologue. The study was conducted by taking samples from students in SMA NEGERI 5 SAMARINDA, this study aims to see how the efficacy of making monologue in order to improve students’ writing skill, basically making monologue is a long speech given by a character in a story, movie, play, etc., and in the end, the results show making monologue is significant to improve students’ writing skill.The researcher used Classroom Action Research (CAR) for the methodology and used 2 cycles and 5 meetings in SMA NEGERI 5 SAMARINDA and 11 Science 1’s Students as subjects. Abstract

Background: Most students were less active and motivated in participating in English learning. The researcher used this learning model because discovery learning is learning where students learn to discover and try to solve concepts independently Khabibah (2017:146-153)Methodology: The methode of the study was classroom action research (CAR). There were two cycles; each cycle consisted of four steps, they were planning, action, observation, and reflection.Findings: The subjects in this study 25 students. The result of the study shows that the using of discovery learning model to improve students’ learning outcomes in English learning at Syaichona Cholil Junior Hight School Samarinda in the academic year of 2022/2023 was successful. Conclusion: The result of this study, implementation of the discovery learning method in the cycle I was achieved by 91.6%. Then cycle II achieve 100%. The students' cognitive competencies in cycle I was 62.8. Then cycle II, the average student score was 80.4. The percentage of completion in cycle I reach 76%, while achieved 100%. Then the percentage of student activity in cycle I reaches 44%. Then cycle II, increased to 77.2%. Originality: In this study shows that the use of discovery learning model in english learning is successful.

Abstract

This research discusses using Quizizz by English teachers in SMP Negeri 22 Samarinda learning activities. This research aims at students’ perspectives on the use of Quizizz in English learning. Five students participated in this study. This research method uses Qualitative with descriptive approach interviews was conducted. From the data described, the researcher found that students have a positive perspective toward the use of Quizizz during English learning. They are happy and motivated to learn English using this application. Besides, this application helps students to practice questions to improve their skills. Furthermore, Quizizz helps them in increasing their interest in learning. It concluded that using Quizizz helps students in English learning activities.

Abstract

The anxiety of English learners who lack conviction in the classroom. In order to communicate with their tutors and peers, they need new incentives to enhance their English speaking abilities. For oral presentations to be comprehended, students must communicate well. This investigation employed qualitative approaches. The study was a case study because it focused on English Oral Presentation learning and involved numerous English students. Five English Department students who struggle with English Oral Presentation were selected via snowball sampling. The research instrument includes guidelines for semi-structured interviews and observation to capture data and information on the research topic, followed by three data analysis tasks: data compression, data presentation, and conclusion drawing or verification. This study discovered that participants' anxiety manifests itself in the following ways: difficulty explaining the topic, perusing the text rather than explaining it, and avoiding making eye contact with others. Anxiety is the greatest dread when speaking. Participants recommended studying grammar, exploring the Internet, mastering the subject, and practicing. Students labored with oral presentations in English. Separated from speaking difficulties were anxiety, self-confidence, and self-awareness. (grammatical error, switch language, read the text). The majority of students stated that anxiety and lack of confidence made English oral presentations challenging. According to their research, a number of experts have resolved student issues.
