Abstract

PT XYZ is the largest shipyard company in Indonesia. As the largest shipyard, PT XYZ is required to PT XYZ is the largest shipyard company in Indonesia. As the largest shipyard, PT XYZ is the largest shipyard company in Indonesia. As the largest shipyard, PT XYZ is required to complete new shipbuilding and repair projects quickly, in accordance with the agreement stated in the contract agreed between the shipowner or his representative and the shipyard. In this case, project scheduling planning plays a very important role to ensure that each stage of work can be completed efficiently and on time. However, the schedule designed from the start is not always fully aligned with the implementation in the field, so that the work has the potential to be delayed from the specified time. The delay also occurred in the KM STU repair project carried out by PT XYZ. Therefore, a reschedule was carried out using the Critical Chain Project Management method. By implementing the CCPM method, the results showed that the project duration was 13 days with an additional project buffer of 3.5 days and a cost of IDR 266,000,000 which was the same as the normal duration or initial condition. However, if the buffer time in the CCPM duration is fully used, the total cost obtained will increase to IDR 304,080,000 or around 14.3% of the CCPM cost without a buffer. Meanwhile, worker productivity by implementing the Critical Chain Project Management method has increased compared to before. Previously, the average worker productivity was 27.45/mandays. Then after implementing the CCPM method, the average worker productivity became 54.89/mandays. Based on the results of the study, it can be seen that the Critical Chain Project Management method is more effective and efficient than the previous method. So that the results of this study can be used by the company as a reference in planning the next repair project schedule.

Abstract

The high physical workload of firefighters has the potential to cause fatigue and reduce performance, compromising safety and productivity. Given the importance of accurate measurement of physical workload, the aim of this study was to analyse physical workload using the Cardiovascular Load (CVL) method and energy expenditure to assess the level of physical intensity exerted by the body during work activities among firefighters using direct observation and pulse measurement during the working day, and estimation of energy expenditure based on recorded physical activity. The research results show that the physical workload of the employees is rather low, with an average CVL of 22.3%, indicating that there is no classification of fatigue. Energy consumption also has an average energy consumption value of 1.51, which shows that their energy consumption is in the light category. On the basis of the results of this analysis, PT also carries out regular health monitoring of physical conditions with the aim of keeping employees in optimal condition. It is hoped that this research will provide a basis for companies to develop policies to manage the physical workload of firefighters.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the optimisation of the clean water distribution system by PDAM Tirta Jaya in Pamekasan Regency (Sumber Trasak) by examining the effects of water pressure, distribution service, water quality and water quantity on customer satisfaction. The results show that these four variables contribute only 7.6% to customer satisfaction, while 92.4% is influenced by other factors. The correlations between these variables and customer satisfaction are weak, with Pearson correlation values below 0.5. Furthermore, regression analysis shows that the relationships are insignificant, except for water quality, which has a significant but weak correlation. Based on these results, optimising the clean water distribution system requires a more comprehensive approach that takes into account other factors, such as improving customer service and improving the water distribution infrastructure.

Abstract

Demand for additional electric power increases as electricity demand increases, but the process is often hampered by obstacles in the operational workflow. The main objective of this research is to analyze operational risks in kWh addition services using the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) method using the 5 Why technique and fishbone diagram. The RCA method equipped with a fishbone diagram will produce a mapping of the causes of operational risk obstacles in the PT XYZ kWh addition service in a structured manner. In the process, the author identifies and analyzes the various risks faced, and proposes improvements aimed at improving service quality. Based on the results of the research analysis, there are two operational risks related to kWh addition, namely: the migration process of postpaid kWh meters to prepaid meters and the use of electricity by customers who exceed the contracted power. The conclusion shows that most of the operational risks come from customer behavior. Proposed improvements include increasing the frequency of inspections, proactive planning for power additions, and transparency of information to customers. The results of this report are expected to make a positive contribution to operational risk management at PT XYZ and improve customer satisfaction.

Abstract

As the industrial world develops, companies are required to produce quality products to attract consumer interest in order to survive in the midst of intense competition in the industrial world, including companies in the animal feed industry. Therefore, quality control is an activity that must be carried out so that the products produced have good quality. At PT XYZ, there are defects in animal feed storage such as expired, ticky, tilted plots, and leaky sacks. To handle these problems, an analysis is carried out using the Six Sigma method with the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control) stages. Based on company data from January to October 2024, the defects amounted to 1.459 sacks with the most types of defects in the form of leaky sacks with a percentage of 83%. The DPMO value obtained shows that there is a possibility of 59.726 defects for a million production with a sigma level value of 3,125. This value shows that the quality is still not consistent and maximum, so improvements need to be made to improve quality and sigma level. Thus it is expected that the company can become a competitive company and can compete well in the industrial world.

Abstract

In the fast-paced digital era, companies must continue to innovate to survive. Especially in banks, retaining customers is the main strategy to be able to project business continuity. The topic of customer retention pays more attention to studying customer patterns that have a tendency to survive. This is very difficult to do because the observed data is generally very complex and amounts to a very large amount. Therefore, computers are a technology that is very suitable to solve these problems. Decision tree is a method that is currently being widely used for research. Moreover, with various versions that continue to be developed such as the C4.5 algorithm, it is a guarantee that this algorithm is still relevant for use in today's industry. Even so, there is still no customer retention prediction research with banking industry case studies. The results of this research test, prove that using the C4.5 algorithm, successfully predict customer churn with an accuracy of 99.77%.

Abstract

The rapid development of the industry has increased plastic production to meet market demand, which has led to a rise in plastic waste volume. One way to reduce plastic waste is by processing it into plastic pellets. CV. XYZ is a company that produces plastic pellets from PP, PS, and PE waste in Gresik, East Java. In its production process, the company faces issues such as high lead times of 990 minutes and non-standard product quality, including defects like clumping, cutting failures, and broken plastic pellets. This study aims to reduce waste and minimize lead time by applying the lean six sigma method with a DMAIC and FMEA approach. Three dominant types of waste were identified: storage, defects, and transportation. The implementation of improvement proposals successfully reduced lead time from 990 minutes to 780 minutes. The average sigma level was recorded at 3.14 with a DPMO of 50009, which falls into the good category for the average industry in Indonesia. Recommendations include demand forecasting, operator training, supplier selection, improving raw material quality, material handling, and utilizing conveyors in certain areas while minimizing non-value-added activities. Through the design of process activity mapping and big picture mapping, the efficiency of plastic pellet production can increase from 50.51% to 64.10%
