Abstract

Eksistensi subak sebagai warisan budaya mulai terancam akibat alih fungsi lahansawah yang terus meningkat sejalan dengan pesatnya laju pembangunan, terutama disektor pariwisata. Alternatif yang dapat ditempuh untuk menekan alih fungsi lahan sawahyaitu  melalui optimasi penggunaan lahan dengan menerapkan usaha tani bernilai tinggi,seperti hortikultura untuk konsumsi hotel dan tanaman obat. Agar perencanaanpengembangan komoditas pertanian dapat dibuat akurat dan efektif,  maka perlu didukungdata karakteristik lahan yang yang lengkap dan mutakhir. Tujuan penelitian ini yaituuntuk mengevaluasi kesesuaian lahan untuk pengembangan komoditas tanamanhortikultura dan obat, dan menyusun arahan pertanian perkotaan berbasis lingkungan,peluang pasar, dan perlindungan subak.Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu survey lapangan dengan subak sebagaiunit pengambilan sampel. Sifat-sifat tanah dianalisis dengan metode analisis tanah yangtelah baku berlaku di laboratorium. Kelas kesesuian lahan ditentukan berdasarkan faktorpembatas minimum dengan matching system yaitu membandingkan antara kualitas lahandengan persyaratan tumbuh tanaman menurut Zainudin, dkk., 1997. Arahan penggunaanlahan disusun berdasarkan kelas kesesuaian lahan tertinggi, konsevasi subak, dan filosofibudaya Bali.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, bahwa kesesuaian lahan untuk padi tergolong sangatsesuai (S1), untuk sayuran, buah-buahan, dan tanaman obat tergolong sesuai (S) dengandua faktor pembatas yaitu drainase buruk dan tekstur tanah halus. Dalam pengelolaantanaman tersebut diperlukan pembuatan saluran drainase untuk memperbaiki drainasedan penambahan bahan organik untuk memperbaiki tekstur tanah. Arahan penggunaanlahan pertanian di Denpasar, pada musim hujan diprioritaskan untuk bertanam padimengikuti pola rotasi tanaman dan zonasi penanaman komoditas pertanian, seperti jenisbunga-bungaan di bagian utara, jenis buah-buahan dan sayuran di bagian tengah, sayurandan tanaman palawija di bagian selatan.

Abstract

Ritual is one of basic element on Bali’s Hindu society. Most of the ritual elements are descended from plants which are well known as “ritual plants”. The objective of the present studies are to study plants utilization in Bali’s Hindu ritual activity. The research was conducted through field survey and literature studies, on several villages in Bali in which classified as Bali Age village, Bali Apanege village and new Bali village. The findings showed that utilization of plants in Bali’s Hindu rituals as an actualization of tri hita karana concept, especially in developing harmonization between human and their environment relationships. Approximately two hundred kind of plants which commonly used on Bali Hindu rituals. The plants can be classified within several groups such as : kind of coconuts, bamboos, trees, leaves, flowers, bananas, fruits (pala gantung), yam group (pala bungkah), etc. Now day, many kind of the plants are entirely disappeared, it need a real action program on ritual plants preservation in other to preserve the ritual plants.

Abstract

Increased consumer awareness of safe vegetable products free of chemical residues and environmentally friendly has encouraged the development of organic farming. However, significant reduction in crop yields in the early phase of the application of organic farming has hindered the development of the system.This study aims to determine the combination of manure and NPK fertilizer that provides vegetables yields no different from conventional farming in order to determine the strategy of transition from conventional farming to organic systems..The study was conducted in Bangli village, Baturiti district, Tabanan regency, Bali. A randomized completely block design was used in this experiment with six treatments of combination manurewith NPK fertilyzer and three replications. As an indicator plant is caisim(Brassica Chinensis L). The results showed that the application of manure 20 tons ha 1 (organic farming)resulted in the growth and yields of caisim are significantly lower than conventional systems(100 % of NPK dosage). Meanwhile, theapplication of 10 tons ha manure combined with a 50% of NPK fertilizer dosage to produce caisin are not significantly differentwith conventional farming, and soil properties such as organic C, total-N, available P, and exchangeable K no different with an organic farming system.Thus, this treatment can be used as a transition strategy from conventional farming to organic systems
