Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of messages in the 2024 gubernatorial elections debate broadcast on TVRI Bengkulu. The research method used is qualitative research. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The analysis of this study uses the approach of Shannon, C. E., & Weaver, W. in interpreting the concept of message effectiveness. The results of the study indicate that the effectiveness messages in the 2024 gubernatorial elections debate broadcast on TVRI Bengkulu is as follows: 1. The messages in the gubernatorial elections debate broadcast on TVRI Bengkulu during the 2024 regional elections meet the criteria for clarity, which includes the use of straightforward language, no ambiguity, and structured delivery in accordance with the debate theme. 2. The messages are relevant and aligned with public needs, as the messages conveyed by the gubernatorial candidates address real-world issues such as the economy, education, health, and infrastructure, which are priorities for the public. Additionally, the gubernatorial candidates presented concrete and feasible programs, making them relevant to the hopes and interests of voters. Audience context, meaning the gubernatorial candidates considered the social, economic, and cultural backgrounds of the audience, as well as local issues relevant to them. 3. The messages in the gubernatorial candidate debate broadcast were able to motivate the audience because they were engaging, meaning candidates who speak with confidence, inspire a spirit of change, and address issues important to the community, thereby making the audience feel more connected and motivated to support them. They also present an inspiring vision and mission, offer realistic solutions, and demonstrate their commitment to improving the region.

Abstract

Public service encompasses activities to fulfill the basic needs of citizens according to their rights, as mandated by the 1945 Constitution. The Central Bengkulu Social Service established the Information Technology Public Relations section, referred to as Public Relations DinSos Central Bengkulu, to accommodate public complaints through their official website. Based on Law No. 14 of 2008 on Public Information Disclosure, this service aims to ensure open information for the public and improve the governance of public institutions. However, responses to public complaints are still minimal and often slow, due to mechanisms that do not yet follow procedures and the unresponsiveness of regional work units (SKPD). This study aims to analyze public relations management in efforts to improve public services at the Central Bengkulu PPID using the public relations management theory by Cutlip, Scoot M., Center, Allen H., and Broom. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the Central Bengkulu Social Service has taken various steps to improve public services, including upgrading technology infrastructure, training officers, and updating operational procedures. However, improvements are still needed in response speed and information transparency. Overall, this study reveals that although significant efforts have been made, there is still room for improvement, particularly in more intensive two-way communication and increasing service access in remote areas. These improvement efforts are expected to enhance public satisfaction and trust in the provided public services

Abstract

Leadership is the power to influence someone to do or not do something. For this reason, leadership requires the active use of abilities to influence others and in realizing the goals of the organization that have been set. Leadership is a behavior of individual who leads the activities of a group to a goal that wants to be created together, so this research aims to find out leadership representation in Barbie movie. The theory used is Roland Barthes Semiotics that known as one of the structural thinkers who are keen to practice Saussure's linguistic and semioligi models. Qualitative research method is a research method used in research natural object conditions, (as opposed to the experiments) where the researcher is the key instrument, data collection techniques are triangulated (combined), data analysis is inductive. The results of this study are connotative analysis in the scene opens up deeper layers of meaning from the narrative, highlighting the psychological, social, and political aspects contained in it. Barbie's tears, as a symbol of sadness, not only reflect her emotional expression, but also connote vulnerability and weakness often related to feminine stereotypes. It shows how gender norms influence the way we interpret and respond to one's emotions, as well as reflecting power dynamics in society. The changes that take place in Barbie's home, from a beautiful and comfortable place to something she no longer recognizes, reflect the consequences of the social changes brought about by patriarchy. Patriarchy, as a symbol of masculine domination, is present in the changes brought by Ken. This highlights how patriarchal ideology affects the personal dynamics between Barbie and Ken, as well as the social and cultural structures in Barbie Land. It provides an example of how gender ideology affects everyday reality.
