Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan keefektifan penggunaan model pembelajaran VAK terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada topik bangun ruang pada siswa kelas delapan di SMP Negeri 8 Padangsidimpuan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menerapkan eksperimen (one group pre test post test design) dengan sampel 25 siswa dan diambil dengan menggunakan teknik random sampling dari 271 siswa. Observasi dan tes digunakan dalam mengumpulkan data. Berdasarkan analisis deskriptif, ditemukan: (a) rata-rata menggunakan model pembelajaran VAK adalah 3,8 (kategori sangat baik) dan b) rata-rata kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada topik bangun ruang sebelum menggunakan model pembelajaran VAK adalah 37,6 ( kategori buruk) dan setelah menggunakan model pembelajaran VAK adalah 80,5 (kategori sangat baik). Selanjutnya, dengan menggunakan formulasi N-Gain hasil menunjukkan G = 0,68 (efektif menengah), itu berarti menggunakan model pembelajaran VAK efektif pada kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada bangun ruang pada siswa kelas delapan SMP Negeri 8 Padangsidimpuan. Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of this study is to describe the effectiveness of using PBM learning model on students’ creative thinking ability at the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1Pinangsori. This research was conducted by applying experimental (one group pre test post test design) with 32 students as the sample and they were taken by using cluster random sampling technique from 217 students. Observation and test were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it was found: (a) the average of using PBM learning model was 3.5 (very good category) and (b) the average of students’ creative thinking ability before using PBM learning model was 50 (fair category) and after using PBL learning model was 77.96 (good category). Furthermore, by using pair sample ttest and help SPSS version 22, the result showed the significant value was less than 0.05 (0.000<0.05). It mean, PBM learning model was effective used on students’ creative thinking ability at the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1Pinangsori.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ mathematical problem solving ability through realistic mathematic learning approach on the topic of the theorem of Phytagoras at the eighth grade students. The research was conducted by applying Class Action Research (CAR) with 25 students as the subject. Instrument of the research was test and observation. The research consists of two cycles. The first cycle showed (a) the test showed the students’ achievement of the theorem of Phytagoras was 47.02 (enough category) and (b) the questionnaire showed the average of students’ activities was 89.29 (high category). Furthermore, the second cycle showed (a) the test showed the students’ achievement of the theorem of Phytagoras 85.48 (very good category) and (b) the questionnaire showed the average of students’ activities was 96.42 (very high category). It’s concluded realistic mathematic learning approach was able to improve students’ mathematic mathematical problem solving ability through realistic mathematic learning approach on the topic of the theorem of Phytagoras at the eighth grade students.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan efektivitas menggunakan pendekatan terbuka terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada topik statistik pada siswa kelas sepuluh SMA Negeri 1 Sibabangun. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menerapkan metode eksperimen (one group pretest post test design) dengan sampel 34 siswa dan diambil dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling dari 178 siswa. Observasi dan tes digunakan dalam mengumpulkan data. Berdasarkan analisis deskriptif, ditemukan: (a) rata-rata menggunakan pendekatan terbuka adalah 3,7 (kategori sangat baik) dan (b) rata-rata pencapaian statistik siswa sebelum menggunakan pendekatan terbuka adalah 56,98 (kategori adil) dan setelah menggunakan pendekatan terbuka adalah 80,33 (kategori sangat baik). Selanjutnya berdasarkan statistik inferensial dengan menggunakan pair sample ttes, (SPSS versi 22), hasilnya menunjukkan nilai signifikan kurang dari 0,05 (0,000 <0,05). Artinya, pendekatan terbuka efektif terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada topik statistik pada siswa kelas sepuluh SMA Negeri 1 Sibabangun.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis masalah pemecahan masalah siswa SMP Negeri 8 Padangsidimpuan. pada penelitian hanya membahas tentang pemecahan masalah matematis siwa. Peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik analisis yang menyertakan reduksi data (reduksi data), penyajian data, dan kesimpulan. Metode pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tes dan wawancara. Sumber data adalah 6 siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 8 P adangsidimpuan yang dikelompokkan menjadi tiga kategori yaitu kelompok siswa yang dapat memecahkan masalah matematis tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dapat menyimpulkan siswa dengan kemampuan memecahkan masalah pada kelompok yang paling rendah yang sesuai dengan solusi untuk masalah matematis, siswa dengan kemampuan memecahkan masalah matematis pada kleompok sedang maksimum memenuhi tiga indikator, dan siswa dengan kelompok-kelompok yang berkapasitas tinggi mampu mendukung minimal tiga matematis siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the learning style of students an the relationship of students learning style to the results of students' mathematics learning in the V neighborhood, losung village during the covid-19 pandemic. There are three types of learning styles that will be discussed in this study, namely auditorial visual and kinesthetic. The method used is qualitative method. Closed questionnaire, unstructured interviews, and documentation are used in data collection. Miles and Huberman tecniques are used in data collection, include 1) data reduction, 2) data presentation, and 3) data verification. The result showed that junior high school students in environment V in mathematics learning dominantly have a visual learning style with a total of 5 people (50%) with an average rating of 77.6. Auditorial learning style with a total of people (20%) with an average score of 70, while kinesthetic learning style with a total of peopl (30%) with an averag rating of 56.6. During the covid-19 pandemic students with visual learning styles learn better than students with auditorial and kinesthetic learning styles.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to describe the effectiveness of the application of YouTube-based online learning on the Mathematics Problem Solving Ability (MPSA) of students in class VIII-5 of SMP Negeri 4 Padangsidimpuan. This research uses descriptive quantitative method with a sample of 17 students. Data collection techniques in this study using observation and tests. Based on the results of descriptive analysis, it was found: (a) The average application of YouTube-based online learning was 3.56 with the "Very Good" category, (b) The average MPSA of students before the application of YouTube-based online learning was 55 with the "Less" category. and after the implementation of YouTube-based online learning is 95 with the category “Excellent”. Furthermore, based on inferential statistics using the t test (paired sample test) and the N-Gain formula, the results obtained show a significant value of less than 0.05 (0.000 0.05) and g = 0.90 with the "High" category. This means that the application of YouTube-based online learning is effective for the MPSA of students in grades VIII-5 of SMP Negeri 4 Padangsidimpuan.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to know whether RME approach is effective in increasing the learning creativity at the eighth grade students of Barus Adventist Private Junior High School students. The research used an experimental method bu applying one group pretest posttest design. The sample of this study is 35 students which were taken by using the total sampling technique. The data collection techniques used observation and tests. The data collected are analyzed in two stages, namely descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. The research results, it is known that the description of using RME approach is on average 3.00 (good category). Furthermore, the description of student learning creativity before learning RME obtained an average value of 66.21 (enough category) and after learning RME obtained an average of 76.82 (good category). Based on the results of hypothesis testing, it can be known that the value of Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.005. It means that RME approach is effective in increasing the learning creativity of the students of the Barus Adventist Private Junior High School with classical completeness data known to be 65.71% (effective category) and N-Gain obtained 0.46 (medium category).

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to develop teaching materials for flat shapes using a realistic mathematics education approach to teach students' mathematical problem solving skills and to determine the quality of teaching materials in terms of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. This research is a development research with the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The subjects in this study were 28 grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 7 Padang Sidempuan. The research instrument used to measure the quality of teaching materials was in the form of expert validation questionnaires, student response questionnaires and post-test results of students' mathematical problem solving abilities. The expert validation questionnaire was used to measure the validity of the teaching materials while the student response questionnaire was used to measure the practicality of the teaching materials and the post-test results of students' mathematical solving abilities were used to measure the effectiveness of the class VIII students' teaching materials at SMP Negeri 7 Padang Sidempuan. The results of this study indicate that the quality of teaching materials is seen from the validation assessment of material experts with an average score of 75.5%, for the assessment of media experts with an average score of 78.33%, and for the assessment of linguists with an average score amounted to 90.67% with each score included in the eligible criteria. The overall results of the expert's assessment show that the teaching materials developed have "good" (decent) criteria based on the assessment by 6 experts with a percentage score of 81.5% in the "very valid" criteria. And the results of the questionnaire responses of students to teaching materials seen from the aspect of practicality with a percentage score of 92.78% in the "very practical" criteria and the post-test results of students' mathematical solving abilities seen from the aspect of effectiveness with an average score of 74.46 in the category " effective. So it can be concluded that the overall results of the study indicate that the teaching materials of flat shapes with a realistic mathematical approach to teach students' mathematical problem solving skills are valid, practical, effective and suitable to be used as learning tools. Abstract

Abstract This development research aims to 1) Knowing the validity of developing website-based two-variable linear equation system teaching materials, 2) Knowing the practicality of using web-based two-variable linear equation system development teaching materials in learning activities, and 3) Knowing the effectiveness of developing linear equation system teaching materials two website-based variables to teach students' mathematical problem solving skills. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) research with the ADDIE development model, where this research consists of 5 stages, namely, 1) Analysis Phase, 2) Design Phase, 3) Development Phase, 4) Implementation Phase and 5) Evaluation Phase. The instruments used include 1) a questionnaire sheet in the form of a validation questionnaire by an expert to see the validity of the product and student response questionnaires to see the practicality of the product, as well as 2) a test sheet to test the effectiveness of the developed product being tested on 24 students in class X MIA 1 SMA N 1 Angkola East. Based on the results of this study, the product validity was obtained with an average percentage of 92.61% in the "Very Valid" category, product practicality with an average percentage of 85,52% in the "Very Practical" category, and product effectiveness with an average percentage of 76 ,62% with the category "Effective".It can be concluded that the development of website-based two-variable linear equation system teaching materials to teach students' mathematical problem solving skills is valid, practical and effective.
